I replaced a 20-year-old three-foot RCA Monster Cable that was originally used for a camcorder, remember those, with a Rocketfish RCA 15-foot shielded cable. The cable connects my MartinLogin 600X 10-inch sub to my Technics SA-600 integrated stereo/CD amplifier. This was fine when the stereo lived on my desk and cable length was not an issue. As my system grew, and my office needs changed, I found that I needed a rack to store all my gear. The rack stands next to my work desk. I need a longer cable. The Rocketfish cable is made from a flexible PVC jacket that easily bends around corners, through cable runs, through walls (UL CL2 in-wall rated), and around furniture. For me, the cable needs to run from behind my rack, follow power and data cables to my desk, rest in a wire cable holder under my desk that runs the length of the desk, and be long enough to support the desk changing heights throughout the day. The desk is a motorized, variable height desk. The PVC jacket is smooth enough to resist friction from the other cables. It is also flexible enough to resist snagging on the furniture, laptop power bricks, and other items as the desk rises and lowers multiple times a day. This is important because the desk is powerful enough to cause damage if the cable were to get snagged on anything. The PVC jacket is molded into the aluminum shell connectors. It is a handsome cable. But definitely not what I would classify as dopamine fueled audio jewelry. The ends of the cable are gold plated. They connect tightly to my sub’s RCA jack and my stereo’s RCA jack. I pulled on the cable and could not disconnect it with a good yank. Twist and pull seems to be the preferred method of disconnecting the cable. There is little chance that the cable will disconnect when playing the system hard. Finally, I tried to unscrew the gold-plated connectors. They would not budge. My office has multiple laptops, monitors, stereo equipment, a charging station, printer, and everything is plugged into a Panamax power center. The subwoofer cable touches many of these power cables, touches two AC laptop power bricks, and shares cable hanger space under my desk with multiple data and speaker cables. That is a lot of potential EM interference that the cable could pick up. Since this cable is shielded, I do not hear any humming, snow, or static through the sub when the sub powered on and silent. When playing music, my bass is full, quick, and clean. Essentially, the cable is not getting in the way of my music. Which is exactly what one would expect from a good cable.

Rocketfish has introduced their new 15' Shielded RCA cable. The box includes the cable, and that's it. The cable comes with a manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty. PROS: ----------- * 15' is typically long enough for most applications * The cable feels very durable and is also made for in-wall use. * Uses digital coaxial technology, so it can be used for TVs/systems that require a coaxial audio cable. * Looks stylish with the gold and brushed nickel connectors. * The connectors are snug on the coaxial and RCA female ends of my receiver CONS: ----------- * N/A OTHER OBSERVATIONS: ----------- * I'm replacing a 6' coaxial cable used for my 350-watt subwoofer connected to my home theater system. There is little-to-no-sound difference even though the other cable had rubber connectors and gold tips. That cable was also shielded to a degree. I'm happier with regard to the extended length since my previous cable didn't offer but a couple inches of slack. It was also not in-wall-rated. CONCLUSION: ===================== There really isn't much to the product other than - It works well and looks great if you have an application that features the looks of the cable ends themselves. The cable is shielded (a must) and will provide enough protection against interference for what I need it for. I would imagine that most people would find this to be true for them as well. I'd buy again for sure.

Recently got the Rocketfish™ - 15 ft. In-Wall Male to Male RCA Cable and had a chance to partially route it through the wall/attic crawlspace this weekend. I already had another subwoofer cable but it was too short so I had to use a female to female coupler/extender which no matter how good it is, can still be prone to some signal loss or noise. That is not the case with the well built Rocketfish RCA cable. It is very well constructed physically, with a smooth protective PVC outer shell that’s flexible enough to be pulled and bent through walls and around corners. The banana plug connectors are gold plated and the connector shell is a very nice aluminum finish. They are not bulky like other overpriced brands, so they’ll fit nicely next to other RCA connectors in the back of my receiver with a multi-subwoofer setup. This cable is not just your typical legacy RCA cable, it is a digital S/PDIF coax cable, made of high-quality, low oxygen copper, shielded throughout to reduce and nearly eliminate any interference. There are power cables in my attic for at least 6 to 10 feet running parallel to this subwoofer cable and I cannot hear any humming interference, so it’s all good. Cables rarely go bad, especially if they’re installed/routed out of sight and not jiggled around, but if you’re in a situation where you may get more wear and tear on your cable, rest assured Rocketfish stands behind their well-built product that’s backed by a limited life-time warranty.

It's always great to find a product that works and specially when it's offered for a good price too. Well rocket-fish has a variety of products to help with the set-up of your Audio-Video project and and i've been always a fan because of the bang for the buck they offer... In my case, this 15ft long in wall rated RCA cable saved my life with the connection i had made between my 2 12" Klipsch subwoofers. While in the past i was running a similar Rocketfish RCA cable from my Pioneer Amplifier -->to my first Subwoofer with great results, i decide to later on add on a second Subwoofer that i ran it on a cheaper rca cable thinking that won't matter since my main connection was strong but boy i was wrong. It took me forever to identify where the subtle humming noise was coming and i guess was the cheap cable must've been catching some sort of interference in my second connection but i'm glad now that got fixed. Just after i ran this cable i can tell how nice my surround system works now ... everything is quiet till the madness in movie starts. And while i'm not using it's full length it's for sure nice to have since i'm moving my setup till i find the perfect spot for my second subwoofer!

With a cable designed for a subwoofer, you are paying for BOTH the silence and the booming decibels when your music or movie calls for it. I’ve got several subwoofers around my house. Although my B&W Bookshelf speakers sound great in my office/workout room setup, they sound so much better with a subwoofer. Of course, my theater room setup with larger Martin Logan speakers don’t actually need a subwoofer, but I want to hear things shake when that Tyrannosaurus announces its arrival. The one thing you absolutely don’t want is a constant 60hz hum, which too often happens because of a bad cable or a ground loop error. A subwoofer can deliver a perfectly annoying hum hiding behind the blasts, booms and crashes. A close inspection of this Rocketfish (15ft Male-to-male) subwoofer cable reveals a very well made cable, with a continuous covering of PVC over an aluminum shell. The connector is gold plated brass which leaves no doubt about the quality of the connector and its tolerance for the bending and pulling cable often undergoes. There are no gaps in the insulation. Rockfish specifies this cable is rated for in-wall use and provides a limited life-time warrantee of the materials. The surprise here is the reasonable price. Recommended.

In my house i have audio setups with a sub woofer in both upstairs and downstairs. Upstairs i have a wireless subwoofer kit, but downstairs i have a wired connection. My receiver is mounted on top of my sump pump pit that has a structure built around it as my basement is finished. My sub woofer can only be right next to that structure. This RCA cable is the solution to that. The cable feels high quality right out of the box, yet is very affordable. The ends are heavy duty and the cable gauge is very thick. The fifteen foot length makes this cable ideal for placing your sub woofer in the perfect spot, or hide the cable in your wall for aesthetics. After i ran the cable to the prefect spot in my basement, i was able to have the ideal sub woofer placement. I then recalibrated my speakers via the receiver and my entire setup now sounds amazing. I really didn't appreciate the difference the placement of my sub woofer would make. So far there have been zero issues with the connection between my sub and receiver. I would highly recommend!

The Rocketfish 15ft in-wall shielded RCA cable is a great quality cable at an affordable price. The RCA or Coax Cable has a metal housing around the plug ends, with a gold-plated tip. The cable is housed with black rubber and forms a solid seal at both ends to ensure durability. This cable is shielded and is an in-wall certified cable with a 100m insulation rating. One thing I really like about this cable is how flexible it is. I am not a fan of stiff/hard cables as they’re a pain to install, being flexible makes is much easier to run it through walls. I used this cable to replace an old Monster coax cable I used to connect my subwoofer to my receiver. The ends of the cable create a tight and firm grip when connecting it to both of the components, so I don’t have to worry about it sliding out. The cable has a few small imprints in it, I’m assuming it’s from the twist ties that it comes wrapped in, but it’s nothing to be concerned about as no wire is exposed. As far as the sound quality goes, everything sounded great. I could not tell the difference between this cable and a $150 Monster coax cable I previously used. My subwoofer was able to achieve the same levels of smooth bass as before. Overall, I am very happy with the Rocket fish RCA cable. The cable is made of good quality, its flexible for easy installation, in-wall certified and offers a firm connection. I would definitely recommend this cable to anyone looking for a new Coax cable.

Yes, This Is The Cable You Want!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

First of all, the greatest thing about this cable is that it is 15 feet long! So instead of having to rearrange things to fit the cable length, I can arrange them how I really want to! This is even better considering how affordable the Rocketfish 15’ RCA shielded cable is. Two great pluses right off the bat. Although I am impressed by the length of this cable, I am equally impressed by the quality. With advances in design and materials, shielded RCA cables no longer have to be super-thick and unbending. I have had to rearrange an entire system because although I was able to connect an older RCA cable to the back of my receiver, I was super concerned about the pressure the cable end was exerting on the cable jack. I knew it couldn’t be good for it, so rather than risk damage to the receiver I moved it. I’ve said that to point out that the Rocketfish cable is a shielded cable, yet it is both shielded AND flexible. So not only is it super long, it is also capable of being fit into tricky locations. As I examined the cable, I noticed how remarkably well-constructed it is. The ends are cleanly mounted with gold-plated connectors. Other than a super-minimal edge at the end of the connector sleeve, you would swear it was all one piece. There is absolutely zero movement (twisting, wobbling, etc.) of the connectors. Now, Rocketfish claims 100% shielding. In impressive boast! So, I just had to see for myself. As almost anyone knows, background noise through an audio cable is maddening. Even the tiniest amount of interference can turn a listening experience into a nightmare. To achieve the 100% threshold, Rocketfish utilizes a 90% copper braid along with dual-layer 100% aluminum/Mylar foil shields. Along with the gold-plated connectors, this should provide the 100%. Remember, this is a 15’ cable, so there is plenty of cable to run next to over, next to, and around all the possible EMI and RFI sources connected to your system. And that is what I did. I even ran the cable LAID OVER the top of my receiver. I have found the best way to detect any interference is to listen to dead sound, that is, have the receiver/tuner turned on, the volume up loud, and just listen. If there is any interference, you will hear it. So, after moving the cable around to test all the possible sources of noise, I was pleased to see for myself that there is indeed 100% shielding. Not a drop of noise. Wow… It is always good to find a product that is of superior quality and design. This Rocketfish shielded RCA cable is one of those products. From its superior design and build to its outstanding noise filtering, it shows why it is a must-have in your system. All that along with its super affordable price makes this the perfect choice! It is most certainly an audio cable I will be highly recommending!

Overbuilt cable without an overbuilt price

I picked up this Rocketfish shielded subwoofer cable because of a recent change to one of my home theater setups. With where my subwoofer is placed in relation to my receiver, I needed a cable I could run behind wall paneling without needing to worry about durability. This cable fits the bill perfectly. It's completely overbuilt with metallic connectors at each end and a thicker, in-wall rated cable jacket; this is important as it's both more durable than the typical cheap RCA cable, and it'll meet fire codes if you're using it as part of a remodel project for a home theater setup. Being that the cable is shielded, I did test to see how capable it is for preventing interference from external devices that can (and sometimes do) create noticeable noises. Compared to a thin cable I was using, my iPhone (running in hotspot mode) caused far, far less noticeable noise. Even more surprising was a Wifi node that would create clicking noises while placed within 1 foot of the thin cable didn't cause any of these noises while in direct contact of the Rocketfish cable. The one thing I really did appreciate was build quality. I've had that one brand of cable everyone knows about that was always overpriced, and none of them were made this well. It's honestly a solid value for what it is, as you could spend 10 times more for a similar cable and it won't be any better than this. If there was anything I could call a drawback to this cable, it would be the lack of connector covers for when you're fishing this through the wall. While masking tape does the job, it would have been nice had this come with smooth, hard plastic connector covers. All in all though, Rocketfish did well with this cable. It's definitely a great option for when you need a subwoofer cable you can hide in the wall.

    Solid RCA cable

This Rocketfish 15 ft RCA cable is perfect for a subwoofer or for a very long digital coax connection between legacy audio components. I was considering moving the subwoofer for my computer setup to a new spot that required a longer cable, and the offer to review this Rocketfish one happened at the perfect time to start this small project. #Look and feel# The Rocketfish 15 ft cable comes in a standard cardboard box, and utilized standard twist ties to bundle it rather than a velcro strap or recyclable paper straps. The cable itself feels nice and solid, with a jacket that has a soft rubberized feel which is a step up from most of the inexpensive cables I've used. It is in-wall rated so you can safely use this without finding yourself in trouble later with your insurance company if a disaster happens and something else catches fire. The connectors have decent clamping force without being overly tight. I'm not worried about it getting jostled loose, nor was it very hard to push in to connect - the sweet spot for phono/RCA cables. #Audio quality# I'm using the Rocketfish 15 ft RCA cable for a subwoofer that previously had a higher end 6 ft cable attached from a denim-themed audio brand. I don't detect any difference in sound. The extra ength isn't picking up any EMI noise, so I presume the marketing around it being a well-shielded cable are accurate. #Conclusion# If you need a medium-long subwoofer or digital coax cable, this Rocketfish 15 ft shielded RCA cable is a great choice. The cable feels premium and is worth the extra coin over cheaper ones on top of being available in a local store vs only online. I'd buy another or recommend to friends and family with no qualms.

Ever found yourself needing a long, shielded cable to connect your subwoofer to your receiver? I have, and my solution has ended up being to make my own, either by purchasing a high quality stereo cable and splitting it in two, or by creating my own using parts. With the Rocketfish 15’ male-to-male cable, the connection I need is now available and affordable. The Rocketfish cable is covered in a flexible PVC jacket that is smooth, flexible, and strong. The flexibility allows you to run the cable around furniture and corners with ease. The shielding on the cable insulates it well from interference, as I was able to put it right against other cables, audio equipment, and my treated power supply. For those who prefer a hidden cable, the Rocketfish cable is rated for in-wall use as well. The connections are solid, plugging into my received and subwoofer snugly. It takes a bit of effort to connect and, importantly, disconnect this cable. This is great news if you have pets or robot vacuums that sometimes try to pull out your cabling. It also ensures that your audio contact is good – no static or dropouts. This is a great cable, and I’m glad to have a new solution to my subwoofer connectivity issue.

Very nice high-fi digital coax audio cable for connecting a subwoofer or other audio components to my home theater setup. I use it for my sub, and I love the 15-foot length of this cable for easily connecting across the room and allows me to have a strong digital signal to my powered subwoofer hiding back in the corner. Long length means no need for extensions to reach your connection and ensures stronger and cleaner signal quality. Male to male connections on each end make it ideal for sub applications without the need for any additional adapters of connectors. This cable’s RCA connectors are reinforced with aluminum shell and gold plating for the truest Hii-Fi signal quality. Overall construction is solid with a flexible but strong PVC jacket around its sturdy 22 AWG copper wire. The black outer color helps it hide in most dark theater room setups, but this is fully jacketed and rated for in-wall use if that’s your plan. This cable is definitely a step up in quality, sound, signal strength and appearance vs my previous basic sub cable. And of course, I always love and appreciate the Rocketfish brand for high quality products at fair prices to complete all my setups.

I had a damaged standard issue RCA male to male cable for one of my subwoofers. I wanted to find something a little better protected from our cats. Most of our A/V cables are well hidden but the subwoofer cable is much more exposed. This new cable is great. It feels so much better made and I expect it to be much more durable than my last one. I still have some old RCA cables from my first CD player that felt and looked a lot like these and those cables never failed. It was an extremely durable design. For this particular application I think having a cable that will move much less if a cat walks over it and thus not be seen as a tempting toy is perfect. I don’t notice any improved sound from what I remember before my old cable was damaged. I’ve never noticed any interference before at my current house, but I have experienced it before. I do like that I can run this one thru the wall when I remodel my living room having confidence that I will stay interference free. All in all I think this is a great cable. Perhaps a bit pricey, but I’m expecting this one lasts for many, many years. If I knew someone looking for a high quality RCA M2M cable I would absolutely recommend this cable to a friend.
