I purchased this cable at the recommendation of the sales associate without reservation along with a speaker bar. After numerous attempts to install the cable from the TV to the speaker bar I just gave up. I signed into Bestbuy.com to get leave a scathing review when I noticed a review about removing the plastic covers. Rocketfish should include some instruction with the product!

I do not know whose fault it is, but I've never had push so hard to get plugs to slide into or snap into sockets (ports) of electronic devices as I did with this cable. I pushed so hard with the plug on one cable end into my Samsung smart TV digital-digital out port that the plug bent and slid back out. I had no better luck with plugging the other end of the cord into my Insignia Optical/Coax digital to analog converter box. The plug did not bend around as I press hard, but was loose connection. Given that both two devices and I had trouble with securely connecting the cable, I'm giving the cable the bad marks. My analog, wireless Sennheiser earphones never received a signal from its transmitter plugged into the Insignia converter. The cable itself looks of high quality construction. In the end, I plugged the transmitter for my Sennheiser earphones into the analog audio jacks on the back Camcast's newly installed cable box and the earphones worked fine. I wish I'd known this before struggling with a TV with no analog audio out.

I bought this optical cable to connect to my sound bar. Yes, its a simple cable, but there are clear plastic cable tip protectors that need to be removed first. No instructions on the box informing one of this. Kind of silly not to mention it. I had to go to the Rocketfish Q&A support page and read a reviewer's comment to learn of this...apparently I am one of many that didn't know.

Very easy to install- no issues with hook up. Compatible with different brands.

This is a very high quality product, and priced well

Don't forget to take the caps off the connections. If wasn't in the directions and didn't look obvious but there are very small plastic caps to protect the fiber optic ends.

This digital cord provides great sound quality. Even if you have a wireless unit I recommend using wired you loose so much quality going Bluetooth.

I bought this for my tritton ax 720 headset. Easy to install. But i noticed that the sound quality was worse...i could barely hear any footsteps around me, while gaming online. The digital optical cable that came with the headset though being very skinny, works better than the rocketfish brand cable. So if you are looking to upgrade to a "better" optical cable..dont do it because the best cable for the headset comes with the headset.
