Mini remote does not turn HDMI switch remotely

I have to turn the device on manually. The mini remote does however switch to any of the inputs properly and it turns the device off remotely.

My TV has 3 HDMI ports but I need 2 more. So I gave this guy a try. The auto-sensor seems to get confused and even when we power everything on and off it only sometimes is making the switch automatically. But the bigger problem is the switch somehow powers off the TV sometimes. We are using the switch for AppleTV and for XBOX. We'll be in the middle of a game and the TV will suddenly shut down. Too frustrating. I will not buy this brand again.

My brand new TV only came with two HDMI Ports. Bummer, right? This fixed everything. Now I can switch sources anytime I want!

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It’s decent, but there are a few quirks I found when using it with a computer monitor: 1) The unit won’t fully turn off when I shut down my PC, so my monitor doesn’t go to sleep and stays on a black backlit screen. When it does this I have to manually turn off the switch. 2) Occasionally it won’t recognize that the connected monitor is 4K, and I’ve had to unplug the unit and plug it back in to fix it.
