Surge Protector

However the Cable line surge protector is really bad...my internet speed went from the 50MB down to 5MB due to excessive "noise" in the line, which my internet provider found to be the Surge protector for the cable.

Lasted about 2 years, so 2 stars

I guess it protected my 50" flat screen, cable box, and DVD player. These items never got zapped, thru 1 and 1/2 years of many FL thunderstorms with many blackouts. But at 2 years my flat screen wouldn't stay on, it would turn right back off. I thought the flat screen went bad and called the geek squad, as it was under warranty. But before they arrived I decided to try a different power strip. And it solved the problem. So this $50 strip went bad and it's out of warranty. Therefore 2 stars for protecting my stuff for 2 years.
