If you absolutely need banana plugs, these will work, however I don't think they are very good quality for the price.

BANANAS DO NOT STAY ON THE WIRE AND CONTINUALLY FALL OFF; INSTRUCTIONS ARE POORLY WRITTEN- DO NOT BUY THESE SPEND THE MONEY AND BUY THE AUDIOQUEST VERSION WITH THE ALLEN SCREWS THAT ADHERE THE BANANA TO THE WIRE- BEST BUY SHOULD STOP SELLING THESE AND FIND ANOTHER BRAND THAT WORKS PROPERLY

Read the instructions first this is not something you can just pull out of the package and set up. Three stars because of the price.

    Difficult to use

I purchased the 10 pack and 4 pack so these comments apply to both. The instructions say these will work with 18 GA speaker wire - no way, the pins are about 18 GA themselves and so trying to push the pin into the wire is very difficult. (If you don't know how these work - there is a small pin inside the connector which you are supposed to push into the end of the wire essentially parallel to the wire itself. So the pin, in theory, slides into the end of the wire and makes contact by coming in the end of the wire.) For smaller gauge wires there is very little actual wire and even with the correct retaining feral the connection is loose. When I used 18 GA wire the connectors were falling off even when I gently moved the wires. So I switched to 14 GA. Even then the little plastic retaining ferals supplied were difficult to use and didn't work with the wire gauges as the instructions illustrated. Finally, the manual assembly is very hard on your fingers. I did a partial set of 18 GA and then switched to 14 GA and redid all the connectors. I did all 28 connections and it has taken about 3 weeks for me to get feeling back in my fingers! If I had this to do over I'd look for another solution.

Makes connecting speakers a snap. Before I have always just tried to wire it direct to the components and it was a major pain. With these it is simple plug and play.

Purchased to hook into older speakers. Had a few 20 year old banana plugs that are constructed better. Price could be lower.

If you buy these make sure you have the right size and type of speaker wire otherwise is not going to work.

Banana plugs are banana plugs right... wrong... mostly they are if that’s what you ordered. I only gave this review because someone took it upon themselves to send me 8 rocketfish & 4 insignia plugs. I should b grateful for the extra two right... WRONG. The insignia support a different gauge than the rocketfish, in other words this isn’t a negative review on the plugs just the service!

These Banana plugs are not worth it. They do nut secure the wire to the connector in any kind of way. Only thing included is a compressin ring around the shielding that is not sufficient enough to hold cable in place. If you must buy these hopefully you have a soldering iron already as that will be the only way to secure the connection.

I love these connectors. They are very easy to set up and you don't even have to strip the wires. I would recommend use with 16 gauge wire or larger.
