    Did the Job

I have 14 gauge wire and the conduit is thick. The white clips were hard to get on and I was a little worried about the overall connection. A pin goes into the wire, hoping that all little wires are able to make contact with the pin. Due to the size of the conduit and white clips, the plugs didn't screw on as tight and connect as they are in the box. Other than that they seem to work. It's better than having exposed wire on a terminal especially having potential to touch the receiver. If you're a diehard about sound, wires and connections, I would go with Sewell plugs. More expensive but each little wire of the bunch makes contact with the plug. With the Rocketfish, I haven't noticed a difference with or without them.

Worst connectors I ever used, DO NOT FIT 12-14AWG

These were honestly the worst, over priced connectors I have ever used, however it was 11pm and I needed to get this project done that night. First of all they are 3-4 times more expensive then if you purchase a quality banana plug elsewhere online, please do yourself a favor and purchase a 5 pack for under $10 elsewhere. They come with 10 very small compression collars and 10 smaller compression collars, these have to be stretched to almost the breaking point for them to work on 14awg wire, there is no way they would ever fit over a 12 gauge. When you stretch them out hopefully you haven't cut your fingernails in a while because they are going to dig right in between your nail and finger, but don't bend them too far, they only give you 10 so you loose one or break one mine as well light everything on fire, all 10 probably cost less then a penny put some extras in there since they are priced as if they were made out of solid gold. After you bend them to get them over the wire you will still have to spend about 5 minutes each getting them over the wire insulation, seriously my fingers aren't working any more, I have no dexterity, these 10 connectors gave me carpal tunnel. After you get the collars on then you have to screw in the rest, good luck, I had to use two pairs of pliers to screw them together and they will probably still come out. I was going to purchase some cheaper ones elsewhere but decided to go with these, thinking if I pay more they would be better, NOPE... I know why they say, "only at Best Buy" online, no other store would carry these. Honestly, after this experience I am NEVER shopping at BB again, and taking back the presents I bought from there for Christmas and buy them elsewhere. Save your fingers and mind, please do not buy these.

    They do the job. Barely...

I would seriously consider going elsewhere for you banana connectors. These things are a bit of a pain in the rear to get them to assemble fully. I ended up having to use a pair of pliers to push the wire lock into the connector, place some electrical tape under that, and THEN slide the backshell onto the connector and tighten it down. Otherwise, the backshell wouldn't seat fully on the connector.

    Needs better crimping mechanism

I have used Monster's in the past, and they gripped the wire tight enough to endure staying connected if you tried pulling the speaker wires out of the binding post by the wires themselves (no, I don't recommend doing that - just an example). Don't try that with these. You'll pull the bare wire out with a minimum of force. I did get them to hold good enough that they should stay in place as long as I don't move any gear.

I own an aging Yamaha HTR 5280 receiver. It started to shut off when certain frequencies were hit. I installed this product onto my speaker cable wire and the shut off problem was instantly resolved.

    Purchase with caution...

Was looking forward to getting some banana plugs, and these looked pretty solid, so I jumped. Big mistake. Using 14 AWG wire, the connectors don't lock in solidly at all. Wires keep coming out. The compressor sleeves (the black ones) that are supposedly for this size wire are too big. Very annoying. You really need to use a much thicker cable for these to work, and thicker cable is not always the most flexible/best. I did get 2 plugs to connect, but they are hanging on by a wire (literally). Just be cautious with buying these. At a premium price, you'd think these things would lock in tight...not so.

    did not work for me

I purchased the monster black platinum speaker wire, which is amazing wire around 16 AWG and these banana plugs did not come with a vice that was capable of holding the speaker wire in place. I tried to use it on a speaker wire that had a thicker plastic casing and they worked but on the monster cable i purchase it was a no go and the wire had literally 0 clamping in the compression fitting

    Stylish but not reliable

Wires connect easily, but be careful if you move your amp around. The wires do not seat in the plugs that well, and the plastic collars are pretty much for a one-time use. These plugs look good, but are not reliable and obviously overpriced.

These plugs do a fine job, but will probably only be appreciated by a true audiophile! If you're not OCD about your gear just get the cheap ones.

    Look somewhere else for plugs

I typically only write reviews when I am very excited or highly displeased with a product. Unfortunately this product falls into the latter category. Using 14 AWG speaker wire I'm unable to firmly attach the plugs to the cable. They use a plastic (that's right - plastic!) cinching mechanism to attach to the cable. It uses a pin in the plug to establish an electrical connection - a really poor design for making a strong connection. I'm returning these right away. I'm also very skeptical of all the 5 star reviews of this product on bestbuy.com - I think there may be some shenanigans with counterfeit reviews, so beware!

Was told by Best Buy associate these work for Sony bookshelf speakers and receivers. They do not. The plug is too small. Thus, it is loose and falls out.

These are a great value for the price. However, for ease of use and level of quality, I highly recommend the Monster Cable banana plugs. Yes, I know they cost like 20x more, but install is SO MUCH EASIER with those. I had issues where it took me 2-3 tries of placing the plastic insert inside the couplers then folding over the copper wire before the wire was secure enough inside there that it couldn't be pulled out.

The instructions say " Slide compression collar onto speaker wire". What compression collar? There is no compression collar. The speaker wire pulls out very easy with 16 gauge. I just put glue on the ends to keeps wire in place. Seems a piece is missing.

Simply put, speaker wire does not stay attached to the plugs. Cheap plastic insert does nothing. Incredibly frustrating. Returning immediately. Do yourself a favor and by Mediabridge plugs.

I attempted to use these, but the speaker wires would not stay connected. I ended up just stripping the wires and connecting them the "old fashioned way" and will be returning these ASAP.
