Set it up at about 8 feet from transmitter and I kept getting a loud thump when watching tv programs and movies I had to remove it and hard wire the subwoofer, for the money I spent I was very disappointed.

I had a similar experience to many others. The volume has to be pretty loud for unit to wake from sleep mode....not conducive to watching regular TV at normal volume. Unit also caused subwoofer to pop at times when it did work.

Worked at first. First unit stopped working all together after one month. BB was nice and switched it out np, second unit like the first on low frequencies would make loud "pops" they were annoying during tv shows or quiet scenes. Have since took it down and will return my subwoofer to its old location and hard wired into my receiver.

Not the best. After our install, our TV/speakers began making a buzzing sound. When our Geek Squad technician returned to check on the noise he informed us that it was the wireless kit. We returned the kit and subsequently never heard the noise again. I was really hoping my subwoofer could be wireless, but rocketfish didn't come through.

Could be outstanding, but it's not.

I'll get straight to the point: The sound is excellent, when it's making sound. This device could be awesome, except for one "feature" (it's a bug, if you ask me): It constantly goes into "sleep mode". So there are periods of time when theres no signal to the subwoofer. Then, it wakes up with a big "thump". Why such a tiny, low power device even has a sleep mode is beyond me, but it makes it so much less useful because of it. In a nutshell, when I'm watching TV quietly, the wireless link goes in and out of sleep mode, and randomly (and rather loudly) thumps the subwoofer when it wakes up. It's incredibly annoying. I'm not the only person to observe this. Unfortunately it's too late for me to return mine, otherwise I would. :- @@@@@@@@

WORKS GREAT ...NOW!! if you bought this and ended with the dreaded popping issue, please read below. If not ENJOY!! . . this does work just need to add additional troubleshooting tips. I had this SAME ISSUE and hated the popping! My fix was easy and came after trying several things. Most suggestions are to move things around (listened to all the line of sight comments, avoid other devices, moved them closer together etc), I even bought RFI filtered power strips to avoid any noise coming directly from a wall plug. Didn't do it. FINAL ANSWER IS ! If your sub has only a L/R plug and no direct sub line, then you MUST match it on the receiver end as well ! Even though my receiver has a direct sub line for some reason when I used adapters (not included) on both ends matching L/R. The popping stopped, even at super low TV sound (mainly dialogue w/no action) which was my biggest pet peeve. It would kick on/off like crazy. Mind you the wireless will still shut off the sub after about 15 seconds if no activity but you wont notice it. Afterwards I moved everything back to my original setup, over 15 ft away, no line of sight, everything tucked away and hidden. Works great! Hope its not to late!! or maybe revisit with this approach. Best of luck!

    Riddled with problems

I will start by saying that, I have had a Rocketfish wireless rear-speaker kit for years that is absolutely great. So, I was excited to get the wireless sub kit. Unfortunately, I wish this unit was better. I have this installed in a medium size bedroom being driven by a brand new Sony receiver that works just fine with a wired subwoofer connection. Wireless span distance is approx 15ft with no major obstructions. 1. The unit frequently seems to quickly go to standby mode. Even in the middle of a song, whenever there is a pause in bass. Then unit takes about a full second to re-engage after bass becomes present. 2. The unit seems to have a internal LPF that is set way too low. 3. There is a perceivable delay in signal. 4. The time this unit takes to get out of standby mode vs the time it takes to enter standby mode is ridiculous. 5. Unlike the rear speaker kit, this kit seems to also lose accuracy of frequency response with transmission. @@@@@@@@ which is horrible for a unit only designed to transmit less than 100Hz freq range) 6. There seems to be a minimum amount of volume where below a point all transmissions stop. This cutoff of signal is very sharp. This results in periods of low volume audio feeling empty with sudden bursts of bass infill followed by more flat bass free listening. I'm not sure what this kit would be good for. Maybe a home theater setup that was only played at very high volume? I'm not sure. I know for me and my application where it is used for movies, music, TV, games and at various volumes this unit is super frustrating. I will be returning this product for sure.
