    Excellent product with one caveat.

This particular wireless subwoofer kit works well! There seems to be little to no delay when listening to music and movies even with the subwoofer roughly 15-20 feet away. The primary issue I have is with the auto sleep function. When there is isn't a sufficient line signal ,the transmitter stops sending a signal; the sensitivity for that signal is too high to use the kit at a lower volume. Seriously, I have to have my system at half volume for the transmitter to work and that's pretty loud in my particular circumstance.

This kit will cut the signal completely at low volume so you don't get any bass at low volume There was also popping sound being produced by the kit. I have a high end system so these issues are very noticeable and was not acceptable. I had to return the product.

I had a similar experience to many others. The volume has to be pretty loud for unit to wake from sleep mode....not conducive to watching regular TV at normal volume. Unit also caused subwoofer to pop at times when it did work.

I bought this to obviously remote station my bowers and wilkens sub. I noticed some sort of odd signal/sound coming from the sub at lower volumes so I unhooked the system. I hooked the sub straight up to the receiver and no more issues.

It works. But it has a buzzing sound when playing low volume music or when not in use. Too bad. Keep that in mind.

We has this installed as part of our home theater set up. At first it worked, then occasionally it would make a popping noise during songs with fast beats. Also, if viewing TV or if volume turned down, the receiver would not pick up the signal and the subwoofer would not turn on. I returned the item and bought a 24 foot cable in stead and it's working great.

It barely worked at all. Connected right out of the box but in use the sub-woofer cut in and out unless the volume was very high. Would not work at low volume at all. Waste of money. I took it back.

It is slick and blends easily with any stereo system. It was easy to setup and operate. The only downside is that it loses communication with the base when the receiver is at very low volume. But when the volume is raised, the 450W Sub earthquakes the house. LOL I would still recommend this item because it solves a huge pain of having to run wires through the room or through the walls.

My AV equipment is behind a wall and I was not pleased with the bass levels I was able to achieve through the wall/door at the highest volume setting on the subwoofer. I wanted to have a wireless solution to be able to move the subwoofer out in the open but still have it in an inconspicuous area. This product made the task super simple. It was set up in less than 5 minutes and I have to turn the volume on the subwoofer way down now as the sound is powerful. The subwoofer is only about 8 feet from the AV closet, so the transmitter and receiver are not too far apart, but as mentioned, it is through a wall/door. Very happy with the purchase.

I hooked this kit up and tested with music first and everything seemed fine. It wasn't until after watching some TV that I noticed the sub would pretty much go in and out on little to no bass scenes. For example, if there was a quiet conversation going on between people there would be somewhat of a white noise with the subwoofer and then it would stop. The sound of the subwoofer would also completely stop past a certain low volume on the receiver. At first I thought this was a function of the subwoofer I just bought and was almost disappointed. Then I unplugged the wireless and plugged in the coaxial cable I had and found none of these issues. I can hear the sub constantly even at a very low volume. I'm using with a Pioneer receiver and a Klipsch SW-112 Subwoofer about 12 feet apart. I'll be returning this kit and running a cord down to the basement and through the floor.

I purchased the rocket fish wireless subwoofer adapter to place my subwoofer approximately 20 feet from my about receiver. I connects easily with only a few wires. That's the good part. Unfortunately it sends a very noisy signal to my subwoofer. It causes popping and humming noises to randomly come from the subwoofer. The adapter seems to work ok at medium to high volumes when the noises are drown out by the music or movie media. While listening at low volume it does not even send a strong enough signal to make the sub operate. It is not a adjustment problem I have another sub connected at the same time with a wired connection and it functions properly. I have also ran an interconnect cable accross the room with no additional adjustment of the sub or AV receiver and it functions properly without the rocket fish adapter in the loop. My recommendation will be to seek out other means of connecting your subwoofer.

After spending some time with this Rocketfish wireless subwoofer transmitter/receiver kit my diagnosis is grim. At greater than casual listening levels this unit works pretty well. I noticed no delay in the signal transmission, even through the wall in my A/V room to the subwoofer sitting 20 feet away. If you are a critical listener, like myself, that is where this thing starts to fail very quickly. Playing music at low volume will not even engage this thing. Turn up the music and little and it becomes schizophrenic, turning off and on as the dynamics of the music change. Only if you play at levels that are inconducive to conversation will this remain active. Movies are very irritating to sit through. Unless there's constant bass content this unit will go into standby mode. When the music or explosions happen suddenly, it pops loudly as it comes out of standby and has a delay of a second or two as it catches up. I can't recommend this product, unless you primarily listen to music primarily at medium levels and up. Otherwise, don't but this.

Great..and Issues...but could have been my AVR

In the interest of full disclosure I returned mine...although the reason I returned it may have been an issue of my particular AVR and not the Rocketfish unit...detailed below. I bought the Rocketfish wireless subwoofer unit as we have a large room, wanted the sub at the opposite end from the surround receiver, and running the wiring properly posed issues due to one of the walls and access below. It was very easy to set up...basically make RCA and power connections for both sender and then receiver, the led color changes to indicate that its paired and you are good to go! Truly that easy. I did have a couple issues however: 1-There is a bit of a delay but I was able to compensate by adjusting the distance/delay settings on my Denon AVR (set sub distance 'greater' and AVR therefore reduces the surround delay which will compensate for the little bit of wireless lag in the RF sender/receiver). 2- The unit would kick in and out of sending signal at lower volumes. If I ran at higher volume it was fine, but at lower to moderate volume it was on/off, on/off. I tried various setting adjustments on the Denon and was not able to get it to be consistent at lower volumes. Like I said, I cant say for sure it was the unit and not my receiver. I dont have clipping w/ sub wired direct, but the receiver may not have been pushing enough power at lower volume for the RF to send? It does go into standby, but that's only supposed to be after a period of inactivity and the led on the RF was staying steady 'On'. . I would not recommend against buying. The RF certainly couldn't make it any easier to get a sub installed without having to run wiring and once adjusted it was great at mid-high volume...just wish I could have gotten the lower end clipping figured out!

    Riddled with problems

I will start by saying that, I have had a Rocketfish wireless rear-speaker kit for years that is absolutely great. So, I was excited to get the wireless sub kit. Unfortunately, I wish this unit was better. I have this installed in a medium size bedroom being driven by a brand new Sony receiver that works just fine with a wired subwoofer connection. Wireless span distance is approx 15ft with no major obstructions. 1. The unit frequently seems to quickly go to standby mode. Even in the middle of a song, whenever there is a pause in bass. Then unit takes about a full second to re-engage after bass becomes present. 2. The unit seems to have a internal LPF that is set way too low. 3. There is a perceivable delay in signal. 4. The time this unit takes to get out of standby mode vs the time it takes to enter standby mode is ridiculous. 5. Unlike the rear speaker kit, this kit seems to also lose accuracy of frequency response with transmission. @@@@@@@@ which is horrible for a unit only designed to transmit less than 100Hz freq range) 6. There seems to be a minimum amount of volume where below a point all transmissions stop. This cutoff of signal is very sharp. This results in periods of low volume audio feeling empty with sudden bursts of bass infill followed by more flat bass free listening. I'm not sure what this kit would be good for. Maybe a home theater setup that was only played at very high volume? I'm not sure. I know for me and my application where it is used for movies, music, TV, games and at various volumes this unit is super frustrating. I will be returning this product for sure.
