Customers are impressed with the wireless feature, easy setup, and sound quality of the Wireless Subwoofer Transmitter/Receiver Kit. They appreciate the convenience of not having to run wires across the floor and the fact that the sound quality does not suffer from the wireless connection. However, some customers have experienced issues with delay, low volume, connection problems, limited range, and a few have even reported that they could not get it to work at all.

Despite an apparent good wireless connection indicated by green lights on both receiver and transmitter, sound from the speaker only worked for a short period of time. Returned to store.

Would send random loud booms to my sub. I tried with multiple subs and same problem. When I plugged sub in directly it stopped. I returned this item.

So i bought this after reading the reviews and forgetting to pull an rca cable through my newly built tv room.
This device does not work for me at all and I have it connected to an Onyko TX-NR646 receiver and a Polk Audio powered subwoofer.
I moved the sub to the front of the room and wired it direct and the setup works like a charm.
Not sure what happened but the wireless signalling did not work for me at all even though it showed blue lights indicating that the receiver and base unit were in synch.

I've been having issues with my Yahama YSP-5100 sound bar, which has a wireless subwoofer feature already. The symptoms included:
- Interference with 2.4GHz devices including WiFi, Bluetooth and Zigbee
- Clicks/pops when on (interference from other 2.4GHz devices most likely)
I've been searching for a wireless subwoofer kit, but most are in the $150-200 range. Then I found this Rocketfish subwoofer kit for a fraction of that.
I'm happy to say it works GREAT!
I looked up the FCC ID and it seems to be based on Ozmo 5GHz WiFi direct radios, which explains why it doesn't seem to bother my 2.4GHz devices or be bothered by others. My condo is extremely dense and congested.
However this Ozmo-based device is a P2P WiFi Direct link. It obeys by standard WiFi rules on standard WiFi 802.11n channels. It's low latency, doesn't seem to interfere with other devices and because it is 5GHz, doesn't go through walls like 2.4GHz and thus is a great short-range solution for everyone.
The device itself is small, easy to set up, and the only thing I can really fault is the auto-sleep feature. After 5 minutes it shuts off and can take a few seconds to start back up when it detects LFE audio. That means if you pause a movie to go make some popcorn, it may take ~5-10 seconds before you get your LFE channel back after hitting play. All in all, not really much of an issue.

Users complaining of sudden subwoofer pop in...you can fix that problem easily by simply increasing your subwoofer output level on your receiver and then compensating for the increased level by lowering the level at your subwoofer. You’ll have to play around with it to get the levels to taste but this will eliminate the sudden pop in of the subwoofer because the levels are too low and your sub keeps going to sleep. That is the number one complained about problem that can easily be fixed. The delay in sound is the #2 issue. This was automatically fixed by my YPAO microphpone that set the subwoofer distance at 32ft even though in reality it was only 5 or 6 feet from the YPAO microphone. (YPAO is that mic that came with your receiver to automatically configure your speaker settings). It’s doing that to correct for the lag. You can also do this manually. At least double or triple the distance setting of your sub. That will cause the receiver to fire the sub a bit early so by the time it gets to your ears its in sync with the other speakers. Makes sense right?
These two issues are pretty much the only issues people complain about with this device and its a shame because they have easy solutions. This device is not plug and play and will require you to make these modifications to get it to function properly.
I think it’s a great device and I’m glad I have it. Works great at 13ft between the transmitter and receiver.

After installing the wireless sub woofer system the sub woofer speaker continues to pop and the wireless signal is very intermittent. I saw this on the product reviews, but purchased anyway. I'm returning the product and hardwiring the sub woofer. I'm highly dissatisfied.

I got this as a low-cost alternative to relocate up my Definitive Technologies Sub-woofer to a corner the other side of my room to the amp. I looked at DT own-brand and it was 2.5x the price. Rocketfish simply does what it says it does. Easy to install out of the box, no config. My speaker is about 20 feet from the amp and there is no obvious delay. Bass sounds as good as I'd heard it when hard-wired. Great value, great product.

I've used this kit for the past 5 months and so far no issues. Overall, the sound quality is good, there's no 60hz hum, static, buzzing, etc for that matter. Only a few things to note. First, there's a slight delay. Audyssey reports my subwoofer is located ~ 23ft away using this kit whereas wired shows ~7.5ft. The difference is caused by slight lag for the ADC to DAC conversion and transmission. Second, this device goes to sleep mode if LFE signal isn't sent to it periodically. Sometimes in films filled with a lot of dialog where there's no bass signal suddenly erupts with a bass scene, like an explosion, you may loose a second of that sound while the device wakes up and reconnects to your woofer. An easy resolution is to set your main speakers to "small" therefore low frequencies will be sent to your subwoofer constantly. For me, it's not a big deal since that rarely happens, by that time, any subwoofer that features auto sleep will sleep by that time. During my first setup, I did have pairing issues and had to repair it. However, it's running strong for over 5 months without a drop in connection! This is a MUST BUY!
