    Riddled with problems

I will start by saying that, I have had a Rocketfish wireless rear-speaker kit for years that is absolutely great. So, I was excited to get the wireless sub kit. Unfortunately, I wish this unit was better. I have this installed in a medium size bedroom being driven by a brand new Sony receiver that works just fine with a wired subwoofer connection. Wireless span distance is approx 15ft with no major obstructions. 1. The unit frequently seems to quickly go to standby mode. Even in the middle of a song, whenever there is a pause in bass. Then unit takes about a full second to re-engage after bass becomes present. 2. The unit seems to have a internal LPF that is set way too low. 3. There is a perceivable delay in signal. 4. The time this unit takes to get out of standby mode vs the time it takes to enter standby mode is ridiculous. 5. Unlike the rear speaker kit, this kit seems to also lose accuracy of frequency response with transmission. (which is horrible for a unit only designed to transmit less than 100Hz freq range) 6. There seems to be a minimum amount of volume where below a point all transmissions stop. This cutoff of signal is very sharp. This results in periods of low volume audio feeling empty with sudden bursts of bass infill followed by more flat bass free listening. I'm not sure what this kit would be good for. Maybe a home theater setup that was only played at very high volume? I'm not sure. I know for me and my application where it is used for movies, music, TV, games and at various volumes this unit is super frustrating. I will be returning this product for sure.

I purchased this in August, and initially it seemed to work. Then I started noticing the absence of a subwoofer sound. When I checked the wireless transmitters, the LED's were red instead of blue, which means they had no connection. Because the devices go to sleep if there's no subwoofer traffic, it was difficult to know whether the wireless, subwoofer, or other devices were to blame, the problem took a while to sort out. After working with a support technician at the Geek Squad call-in number, who showed me how to reboot the device and reconnect, I got the devices to connect for a short period and then disconnect. As a result, I brought the kit back to my local Best Buy, where I was able to exchange my device for another. But the problems persisted. Of course diagnosing the problem took longer than the 15-day return period Best Buy offers, so I can't even return it. This product just doesn't work.

Sub cuts out at low volume

I hooked this kit up and tested with music first and everything seemed fine. It wasn't until after watching some TV that I noticed the sub would pretty much go in and out on little to no bass scenes. For example, if there was a quiet conversation going on between people there would be somewhat of a white noise with the subwoofer and then it would stop. The sound of the subwoofer would also completely stop past a certain low volume on the receiver. At first I thought this was a function of the subwoofer I just bought and was almost disappointed. Then I unplugged the wireless and plugged in the coaxial cable I had and found none of these issues. I can hear the sub constantly even at a very low volume. I'm using with a Pioneer receiver and a Klipsch SW-112 Subwoofer about 12 feet apart. I'll be returning this kit and running a cord down to the basement and through the floor.

    The little engine that couldn't

Purchased this wireless transmitter/receiver after having done some research into it's pros and cons. Using the device in a large RV in lieu of having to run extensive shielded cable through all the chases, basement, frame, etc. In testing, the unit paired quickly enough, but would have to be re-paired often. The biggest bummer about this product is that the signal to the subwoofer would frequently fade, then disconnect, then eventually return with a loud POP-thud! Within five minutes, I would have lost and regained the signal with it's typical abruptness in reconnection about four to seven times. Obviously unacceptable. The AVR distance to subwoofer is about 10' away. I've read similar reviews for other subwoofer wireless products with similar issues. The problem here is that this one (and other similar devices) fall under "cheap consumer electronics". Highly suspect that this is more the norm for a device for $60 (on up to $200). Wish someone would come out with a high quality version even if it were several hundred dollars. It would be worth it in the long run, but for now, here comes a big project in having to run shielded cable.

    Works but very noisy

I purchased the rocket fish wireless subwoofer adapter to place my subwoofer approximately 20 feet from my about receiver. I connects easily with only a few wires. That's the good part. Unfortunately it sends a very noisy signal to my subwoofer. It causes popping and humming noises to randomly come from the subwoofer. The adapter seems to work ok at medium to high volumes when the noises are drown out by the music or movie media. While listening at low volume it does not even send a strong enough signal to make the sub operate. It is not a adjustment problem I have another sub connected at the same time with a wired connection and it functions properly. I have also ran an interconnect cable accross the room with no additional adjustment of the sub or AV receiver and it functions properly without the rocket fish adapter in the loop. My recommendation will be to seek out other means of connecting your subwoofer.

    Too much delay

I couldn't get a tight bass with this thing. There is a delay of the signal and with bass, especially for music, that's not good. I'm a musician myself and there is nothing worse than a lagging bass. I tried messing with my distance and delay settings on my receiver but i couldn't find one that I was happy with. It might be alright for movies but for music, I need a direct connection. I have the rocketfish wireless rear speaker kit too and that works fine even with a tad bit of delay because with high frequencies you wont notice it that much. But with low frequencies, timing is everything.

Could be outstanding, but it's not.

I'll get straight to the point: The sound is excellent, when it's making sound. This device could be awesome, except for one "feature" (it's a bug, if you ask me): It constantly goes into "sleep mode". So there are periods of time when theres no signal to the subwoofer. Then, it wakes up with a big "thump". Why such a tiny, low power device even has a sleep mode is beyond me, but it makes it so much less useful because of it. In a nutshell, when I'm watching TV quietly, the wireless link goes in and out of sleep mode, and randomly (and rather loudly) thumps the subwoofer when it wakes up. It's incredibly annoying. I'm not the only person to observe this. Unfortunately it's too late for me to return mine, otherwise I would. :-(

    Garbage

While the setup is effortless, this thing is garbage! The transmitter will assume the subwoofer has gone to sleep or turned off when there is a lack of low frequency in the media being played. To wake it up, which it doesn't need to, it sends a loud thud that sounds like someone is dropping a dumbbell on the floor. I've seen some excuses by the manufacturer saying that it's wifi interference, but that's not even close to true. I unplugged my dual band router, and this thing was still thudding. This thud occurs about every 3 minutes when there are no bass frequencies on whatever you're listening to or watching. I'm not sure why I placed any faith in a rocketfish product, but I won't make the same mistake again.

I purchased the wireless kit for my new subwoofer. It did not transmit the base signal at all. It popped occasionally and would let out a sudden burst of base sound. I purchased in person at the store, so I didn't read reviews. After having problems, I read reviews, and found other people were commenting on the popping, so I exchanged them for a new box, in case I got a bad one. Not so much, the second one wouldn't transmit at all. I returned for full refund, and purchased a different, well reviewed wireless kit online and it works as if it was wired. Don't buy this brand.

    Don't really work

I hate having to run surround wires in an existing home and after having just purchased a new home I looked for another way. I thought these were just what I was looking for when I saw them at BB. Unfortunately they don't really work except at high volume and even then they seem to miss all but the strongest bass missing the lower level bass. When listening at lower volume they pretty much go inactive. I thought maybe the cheap RCA cables were the cause so I replaced them with some nicer ones I had around and I think it may have helped a little but not much. I ran my old sub cable across the floor and things sound great while I return these and look for another solution.

Poor connectivity with line of sight

This is the first time I've tried to convert a traditional wired device into wireless - at least when it comes to home audio equipment, and was overwhelmingly disappointed with this product. The two bases were no more than eight feet apart and could not maintain signal continuity for more than 10-15 minutes. The disconnect/reconnect process creates a resounding "thump" in the subwoofer. Having just spent a couple hundred dollars refurbishing the speaker, I can do without the undue wear and tear. I plan to return this product.

Upon initial hookup, I put on a blu ray movie and immediately noticed that there was a delay in the subwoofer responding to scenes with explosions in them. There was only about 3 feet separating the sending unit from the receiving unit with a wall of drywall separating the two (my audio/video receiver was set up in behind the wall in order to keep all units and wires out of sight). The only thing I could assume was that this product requires line of sight to work properly. Unfortunately because of this problem, I returned the product.

    Intermittent thumping sound

I returned this item to Best Buy because it produces a "thumping" sound randomly. After reading about this issue on a couple of forums, it seems that it is due to the wireless receiver shutting off after only a few seconds of not getting a signal (no, or very low, bass in the audio track) sent to the sub-woofer. When it shuts off, you get the audible thump sound. Also when it does receive a bass signal the unit lags momentarily. Poor implementation IMO!

So i bought this after reading the reviews and forgetting to pull an rca cable through my newly built tv room. This device does not work for me at all and I have it connected to an Onyko TX-NR646 receiver and a Polk Audio powered subwoofer. I moved the sub to the front of the room and wired it direct and the setup works like a charm. Not sure what happened but the wireless signalling did not work for me at all even though it showed blue lights indicating that the receiver and base unit were in synch.

Bought this device to simply send the signal through a family room to my patio. 6ft direct line of sight. I could not get this thing to maintain a constant signal. Very sketchy signal even when it is 4 ft away in same room. Took it back and tried another one thinking it was a bad unit. Same poor performance. So I drilled through the wall and ran a single line sub-woofer cable. All good now! Don't waist your time with this device. Don't waste your money on this device.

I could not get this wireless kit to work in my system. I have a Emotiva UMC-1 processor leading to 2 Epik Empire subs. I was hoping to use these to locate the subs in the corner of the room, but I could not get them to work. The subs (and rocketfish receiver) were within line of sight and range of the rocket fish transmitters, but they never received a signal. Back they went. I am sure they may work for other systems.

set up is simple, that's about the only nice thing I have to say about this. It doesn't work unless you have your volume turned up to a certain point, which is way too loud. When it does seem to work, there is a noticeable delay. It always loses conection whenever I change to a different source, which gets to be a pain having to re sync it everytime. This thing is way more trouble than it's worth. I would not recommend this product.

I bought this to put my sub about 10-15 feet from the receiver. I followed the instructions to a T. I got it to work for a total of maybe 5 seconds combined from the time I hooked it up until I put it back into the bag to return 3 hours later. At one point I had the transmitter and receiver about 6 feet apart with nothing in between them to interfere with reception. It still didn't work. I decided to just run a cable instead.

I had a wired sub connection that needed to be ran down into the walls but the cabke i got was to short so the tech mentioned me getting this device and said it worked great. Only time it would ever work is if you played a bass test on youtube. Movies it would kick on for a few seconds then back off and it always went into sleep mode. Try a wired connection before getting these.

I was using this item with a Polk PSW10. The transmitter and reciver were about 6 feet from each other. During normal audio times (talking, cars driving, etc) the device did not transmit any bass, It would take large explosions or bass hits to cause the device to transmit. If the bass was sustained for more than 10 seconds it would overload the subwoofer and cause it to cut out and go into fault protection.
