Must tweak settings for this to work well!

Users complaining of sudden subwoofer pop in...you can fix that problem easily by simply increasing your subwoofer output level on your receiver and then compensating for the increased level by lowering the level at your subwoofer. You’ll have to play around with it to get the levels to taste but this will eliminate the sudden pop in of the subwoofer because the levels are too low and your sub keeps going to sleep. That is the number one complained about problem that can easily be fixed. The delay in sound is the #2 issue. This was automatically fixed by my YPAO microphpone that set the subwoofer distance at 32ft even though in reality it was only 5 or 6 feet from the YPAO microphone. (YPAO is that mic that came with your receiver to automatically configure your speaker settings). It’s doing that to correct for the lag. You can also do this manually. At least double or triple the distance setting of your sub. That will cause the receiver to fire the sub a bit early so by the time it gets to your ears its in sync with the other speakers. Makes sense right? These two issues are pretty much the only issues people complain about with this device and its a shame because they have easy solutions. This device is not plug and play and will require you to make these modifications to get it to function properly. I think it’s a great device and I’m glad I have it. Works great at 13ft between the transmitter and receiver.

Based on 5GHz WiFi Direct, clean sound!

I've been having issues with my Yahama YSP-5100 sound bar, which has a wireless subwoofer feature already. The symptoms included: - Interference with 2.4GHz devices including WiFi, Bluetooth and Zigbee - Clicks/pops when on (interference from other 2.4GHz devices most likely) I've been searching for a wireless subwoofer kit, but most are in the $150-200 range. Then I found this Rocketfish subwoofer kit for a fraction of that. I'm happy to say it works GREAT! I looked up the FCC ID and it seems to be based on Ozmo 5GHz WiFi direct radios, which explains why it doesn't seem to bother my 2.4GHz devices or be bothered by others. My condo is extremely dense and congested. However this Ozmo-based device is a P2P WiFi Direct link. It obeys by standard WiFi rules on standard WiFi 802.11n channels. It's low latency, doesn't seem to interfere with other devices and because it is 5GHz, doesn't go through walls like 2.4GHz and thus is a great short-range solution for everyone. The device itself is small, easy to set up, and the only thing I can really fault is the auto-sleep feature. After 5 minutes it shuts off and can take a few seconds to start back up when it detects LFE audio. That means if you pause a movie to go make some popcorn, it may take ~5-10 seconds before you get your LFE channel back after hitting play. All in all, not really much of an issue.

After we installed our Home Theater system, and spent way too much money having all of the speakers wired through the ceiling and walls, we realized that the subwoofer was way to close to both the wall and a furniture piece (causing BOTH to rattle)! We thought we were out of luck, and since the walls and ceiling had long since been closed back up, we thought that buying a new wireless subwoofer would be the only solution. Problem with that, aside from just spending A LOT of money on a KEF reference sub, was that our receiver was located in the next room, in an AV closet, and wouldn't have direct line of site to the subwoofer (which, from what we saw online, most/all needed). Needless to say, we were very frustrated... That was, until we found this cheap (but effortless/amazing) solution!!! This thing works EXACTLY as promised, and then some. There's been one or two instances where it lost the signal, but it is such an easy fix that it's almost a non-issue (just need to press the link button on either the transmitter or receiver). Overall, I can't say enough good things about this product... I was hesitant to buy a RocketFish product (only because I had never used them before), and I must say I was wrong to be!!! AAA++++++++

    Excellent wireless subwoofer kit

I have looked for a wireless subwoofer kit and finally found the best one for me. I have tested a couple low end kits at the $40-ish price with 3.5mm sockets, 2.4Mhz, using a mobile phone chargers to power them ; I had disconnections, noises, booming sound sporadically. I also read that there are interferences with the Internet wireless router. Well, I am happy so say, after hours of listening, none of the issues noticed. I have dual band Internet wireless router and there are no interferences. Some technical aspects, I am powering the sub with Yamaha 3020 and calibrated it with the mic. There isn't lose in any frequency, however there is about 45msec delay. The sub is 6 feet from the listening location and the receiver has set the distance to 56 feet. Make sure your receiver is capable to set high distance to compensate on this latency. The async may be annoying for some audiophile's ears. Net-net, I highly recommend this kit. You get the best value for this price.

I've used this kit for the past 5 months and so far no issues. Overall, the sound quality is good, there's no 60hz hum, static, buzzing, etc for that matter. Only a few things to note. First, there's a slight delay. Audyssey reports my subwoofer is located ~ 23ft away using this kit whereas wired shows ~7.5ft. The difference is caused by slight lag for the ADC to DAC conversion and transmission. Second, this device goes to sleep mode if LFE signal isn't sent to it periodically. Sometimes in films filled with a lot of dialog where there's no bass signal suddenly erupts with a bass scene, like an explosion, you may loose a second of that sound while the device wakes up and reconnects to your woofer. An easy resolution is to set your main speakers to "small" therefore low frequencies will be sent to your subwoofer constantly. For me, it's not a big deal since that rarely happens, by that time, any subwoofer that features auto sleep will sleep by that time. During my first setup, I did have pairing issues and had to repair it. However, it's running strong for over 5 months without a drop in connection! This is a MUST BUY!

This product works very well. I did need to increases the subwoofer output level at the A/V receiver by way of the menu in the A/V receiver and because I don't know if your A/V receivers default, if even fixed, is high enough, I can't say whether or not your subwoofer(s) will come on readily. But once I got the output adjusted correctly the subwoofers come on just as soon as low bass frequencies are present. The sound quality is fine and clean without any issues. I have the transmitter close to the A/V receiver and there are no interference issues. The subwoofer receiver I have close to the subwoofer but hidden nearby next to a bookcase so it will work fine with the signal passing through or around other objects. I am quite pleased not to have to try to find a long wire to run around the perimeter of the room. I have the subwoofers stacked on top of each other towards the back of the room facing into a dining area on the far side. This configuration enabled me to kill a problematical 40Hz bass mode due to the room size that was causing a loss of smooth bass in my listening room.

    Good wireless subwoofer connection

I bought this item with a sub-woofer and I had my A/V receiver auto calibrate the addition of the sub (sub gain at max). The wireless receiver unit is about fifteen feet straight line distance from the wireless sender unit with a clear line of sight between the two (other than an occasional person walking between them). My units were constantly dropping their connection even when nothing has physically changed about the room. After doing some messing around with the speaker settings on my A/V receiver I discovered the signal coming out of the A/V receiver was too weak causing the wireless sender unit to go into standby mode. I maxed out the output level for the sub on my A/V receiver and turned the gain down on the sub and I haven't had a problem since. Rocketfish needs to make these units more sensitive to the audio signal to avoid such problems. Other than the setup issue this is a great product when it's quirk is figured out.

I recently needed to relocate my subwoofer to another location within my family room. I was dreading the thought of crawling underneath my house to run the subwoofer speaker cable to the new location. BUT I then stumbled upon the Rocketfish wireless subwoofer solution. Install was really easy. You plug a cable in at the receiver side and at the subwoofer side. Keep in mind you'll need to have power at both your amp/receiver and subwoofer location so you can power the Rocketfish transmitter and receiver. It works like a charm! I can't tell any difference in quality or response between when my subwoofer was directly wired versus using the Rockfish solution. It even shuts down connection when there is no signal going to the subwoofer. My subwoofer install is only about 8 feet from the transmitter so I can't comment on how great it works at further distances. Having said that my transmitter is installed with my amp/receiver in a metal and glass enclosed cabinet and it has no problems transmitting.

    Exceeded expectations

After using another 900 MHz wireless unit my expectations were low. This worked immediately as advertised right out of the box. The only thing that you have to be aware of is that this unit will add some delay, so your receiver will have to be able to cope with it. Mine said that my subwoofer was 3' from the calibration mic after a speaker auto calibration, so I just set it at the max which was about 30 ft. You also have to be sure that you don't have the signal to the transmitter attenuated or the auto turn on function won't work correctly. The first time I ran the auto cal, my sub volume was turned way up, and the receiver attenuated the sub 13 dB. With this attenuation, the auto turn on did not work correctly. Setting the attenuation back to 0 dB and turning the volume down on the sub fixed this so the auto turn on works perfect. In my setup, the sub is only about 10 ft from the receiver so wireless range is not an issue.

I was looking for a wireless solution to connect a second subwoofer to my home theater in our recently finished basement. I had the builders install a grate so I could put a subwoofer behind a wall with the other equipment. As I have another subwoofer, I thought you can never have too many subwoofers. My problem was the audio connection to the 2nd sub. I found this wireless subwoofer solution. I have tried wireless solutions before but the wireless phone and the microwave oven always caused loud pops and snaps. I plugged this in to the sub and my receiver and turned it on. What a great product! The sound is great with no distortion! No more pops and snaps! When things are powered down, this powers down as well. As soon as I start my system, this automatically powers up and works well! I would highly recommend this for a sub. Added great bass punch to my system!

I have a whole house audio system and wanted to add a subwoofer in my hearth room / kitchen area, but a wired solution wasn't an option. I used this product to get signal to the subwoofer wirelessly. I plugged the transmitter into the amp/receiver for the whole house system in my audio closet, and plugged the other end into the subwoofer (one floor apart), and it worked perfectly. Just like that. Have been enjoying deep, rich music with no issues ever since. I saw others reviews about needing to resync the devices but I haven't had to that once. I was also concerned there might be a delay and cause things to sound terrible but there's no delay at all and the bass makes the music sound so much better. For the price and simplicity, this is an excellent option.

This thing works as advertised. Good build quality, small footprint, light weight. I can't hear any sound degradation on my high-quality SVS sub. To get the most out of this, you'll need a receiver that can set different delay lengths for each speaker, as there is a slight delay in the sound transmission (this is a common feature on modern surround sound receivers that let you set the distance from listening position to each speaker). Just make sure your receiver is set up properly (ideally through an automatic calibration program if your receiver has one) and you're good to go. If you don't have that capability its not a deal breaker IMO -- we're talking less than half a second of delay. But it is there. All in all this is highly recommended.

I am happy of my recent purchase of Wireless sub woofer transmitter / Receiver Kit by Rocketfish. I had done my research and even though there are some alternatives listed online for purchase with varying price ranges, I went with Rocketfish because of how well its Wireless Rear Speaker kit had worked out for my living configuration. The setup is straight forward and not difficult at all. There is a blue light letting you know its transmitting and red when its not active. I used this for my 2nd subwoofer hidden behind my couch. The convenience of not having to run a subwoofer audio cable from my receiver in the from the living room to the back is great. Happy with my purchase and I recommend this to anyone in the market to purchase such a setup.

I purchased the rocketfish subwoofer kit to complement the rocketfish surround sound kit that I purchased a few years ago. I rearranged my living room and TV area. The sub was not going to fit. Went on BB and found this. Picked it up, they had an open box for an extra $10. Off. Hooked it up and away we go! It works great. There is no hesitation or lag. I have it on the same power strip as the surround sound. So I can either leave it on independently, or together. I adjusted the settings on my Onkyo receiver, and everything sounds fine. Perfect for those who like to "move things around". The only thing is a cheap RCA wire comes in the kit. I have several digital cables that I use instead. One for the receiver, and one for the sub. No issues, it's a keeper.

Picked up a Klipsch 12 inch Reference sub open box for a good price, because the wireless versions were a bit out of my price range at the time. Started to regret the purchase when I found the perfect spot for the sub would have to run a long, visible cable. Found this product at my local store, read the reviews and went for it. It works beautifully. I cannot tell the difference in quality, maybe because I am not necessary an audiophile, but this does the job and beyond! Instructions are clear and easy. The receiver unit paired with the "sender" unit immediately upon hook up, and they automatically turn off if there is no sound coming from the TV. Have not had issues so far in about 2 weeks since getting it.

Works like a champ for my needs. Allowed me to re-locate my 12" sub to another part of the room without being directly connected. Transmitter has both an LFE connector, and L/R audio inputs. The receiver has only the LEF/mono out, but that's not a big deal since that's all that is required for the sub signal. Setup/wireless connect was quick and simple when following the provided instructions. No phase/delay issues apparent. I can't speak to max distance usage, as my setup only has the sub about 8 ft from the transmitter. (not line of sight) I have not noticed any wireless interference issues either, but I do recall reading a review where they captured the signal running on both channel 6 and 11 in the 2.4Ghz range. (FYI)

I purchased this unit with caution as some reviewers had issues. I have to say this works perfectly. I needed to move my subwoofer to the back of the room and did not want to have a wire running around the room. I have this wireless kit running in the same room with a rocketfish wireless rear speaker kit and my home network router and there is no interference. I have a high end subwoofer and only use high end cables so I was very hesitant about using a wireless kit. However using the supplied cable from my audio receiver to the sub transmitter and a high quality cable from the sub receiver to the subwoofer, the sound is the same as with cables. I would definitely recommend this unit.

I was try to find an alternative solution to get rid of a humming sound that was coming off my subwoofer due to interference with my cable TV. I tried on multiple location to fix the grounding problem in my building but they simply didn't care. One day i came across these devices and decided to give them a try. What a relief it was for me when i turned on my subwoofer and didn't hear that annoying hum. Another plus is that its wireless, so u could move you subwoofer around without running a long cable. Overall i'm very happy with my purchase. I'm really disappointment that didn't look for this solution earlier. it takes about 5--10 sec to turn on from off position, but i think that its normal.

Purchased this to eliminate HUM from my sub due to long RCA cable run which was picking up interference. I was initially skeptical as I was worried about lag and connection dropping as I have other wireless devices by my receiver. To my surprise this solution simply just works. I plugged in both devices as instructed and it automatically connected and my sub instantly started working literally within minutes of unboxing. The best part is that it auto powers down due to no activity and my sub actually goes into standby mode now whereas it didn't before when I was having issues with the cable. I highly recommend this product and the price is very good considering the price and time a 40+ foot cable run.

I bought the Rocketfish Wireless Subwoofer Transmitter/Receiver Kit to replace an older wireless kit I had that had the annoying habit of powering down after just a minute of no signal, at which point you had to turn it off and back on for it to sync up. The Rocketfish Kit was easy to setup, syncing as soon as it was all connected with color changing LEDs indicating the status. It allows for a full five minutes of inactivity before going into standby and will instantly reconnect once a signal is received. I can now watch movies that have action and quiet moments and listen to the radio without the annoyance of my sub turning off and having to manual turn it back on. Well worth the price!
