I purchased this when it was on sale for $399, and I am amazed. I'm able to run AAA titles on this thing with smooth gameplay, and on battery for most. It does get warm, but for this price it's the best deal on a handheld you can find.

Great product and I got it on sale for 200 bucks off. If asked to do it again, I would have paid full price. The UI takes a but of getting used since it is just a handheld pc, but it plays xbox gamepass and steam games with ease. Totally worth it.

Good portable but lacks the power to run triple A titles. Definitely put in the extra money and get the Z1 extreme model. The screen is gorgeous though and if you do light gaming this would be ideal.

Good runs fine. Plays most of the games. Able to take to work to show off haha. Portability is rly nice to be able to play next to my fiance. Would recommend. Use it for steam games mainly. Its really just a small computer.can upgrade storage.

I bought this to play pc games on (vampire survivors, fifa) and emulators. It does the job very well. I got an open box deal from best buy for $340 and it plays like new. I'd recommend it to anyone who is looking to play pc games cheap and in a portable fashion.

The ROG Ally is very comfortable to use and let's me play games from Epic, GoG, or Steam anywhere. I find it plenty powerful for my games. My complaints are that it is too slow to start and spends too much time updating. Overall I'm very happy with the Ally.

Offers a smooth and vibrant 1080p touchscreen display, which you might mistake for 1440p or even 4k. It’s literally a handheld computer that can play games, my favorite feature is that it has an armory crate button built into it, so when you press it pops up and little menu that you can customize your settings. it’s got rgb joysticks for late night gaming. It’s got two programable paddles on the back I only have 2 issues with it, it doesn’t have a lot of storage which is fine if you are just cloud streaming, but if you wanna actually install the games you might need to upgrade the m.2 drive and you kinda need a dock for full mouse and keyboard functionality. Other than needing the dock for certain things, it functions as intended

I believe the ROG Ally is good at what it is made to do but struggles to be a great machine. First, the battery life is awful. Off the charger you are getting an hour maybe two, which is counterintuitive to being "portable". Second, this Ally and it's more extreme model get WARM and the heat exhausts from the top of the device, this can be a pro if you like hand warmers, it's that warm. Third, at times it can be buggy. I usually set it to sleep when it's idle and if I come back to an application it's usually glitchy. If you are on the fence, go for it. You can always return it within 14 days.

Outstanding performance for a PC handheld, and its a joy to use. Be aware that the battery life is pretty awful, and plan to install EVERY windows and firmware update available to get a good experience. Would definitely buy again!

I love this thing. I was looking for a handheld that could emulate ps2 and under. But this baby can emulate up to 360 if you really wanted too. Plus it runs pc games with decent settings. I didnt care for the newest triple A games since i have a home console. Is this thing perfect? Not yet, but the tech and pricing for pc hanhelds are not here and wont be here for another 2 years at least. If you can buy this on sale, dont hesitate. It does require a bit of setting up intially.

Works great. This gaming system has the power of high end laptops for a fraction of the price. I've hooked it up to my USB c hub and used it as any other laptop or desktop with no issues.

Great way to play Xbox Games as well as others like Steam. This was able to run most games, and most importantly I did win on Call of Duty in crisp fast gameplay. What was great is how easy was to access game library. However , it is also full Windows so did watch a few TV shows on, check email and watch YouTube. Controls feel nice, there is good customization options for the lights on control sticks. Player through many games on Xbox and enjoyed the fact it could run many games. Battery life on base model is def not perfect so I was often having to plug in. I was not using however dicking stations, or portable chargers. Still though to sit in airport waiting for flight , jumped on WiFi and played call of duty at my gate very cool Great system and Asus truly does cater to gamers by making easy to use and access new games through the stores interface .

Great product for someone on the go. Had to do some manual downloads to get all items working but it was simple. I do wish the battery lasted longer while playing games.

I've been lo into a nice handheld computer ever since the release of the steam deck, originally i was going to buy one but i decided to wait and spon forgot about it. Two weeks ago i cam across the ROG ally and i was interested. I purchased the Z1 model during a sale and i haven't looked back since. Sure this model is inferior to the ultimate by a large margin but i use it for indi titles and emulation. for that is has more than met my expectations. I have my gaming pc for the more hard core titles. I highly recommend this model WHEN ITS ON SALE the non sale price is far too high.

Was skeptical at first but after i "accudentally purchased it for my birthday i loved it!! Its great and one my favroite gaming devices and all around handheld pc devices!! I love this thing!!

Bought this for my wife and she absolutely loves it. She plays her steam games and genshin impact on it with no problem. It does drain the battery pretty fast, but having a power bank or plugged in solves that issue.

Works great, it is the low power version. I use it mostly for lower end steam games. Build quality is good. Easy to add more storage. Drivers will import to get the best benefit.

Great product, I bought 2 for my sons. Better than any portable gaming device.

My daughter wanted a gaming PC, and but loves the Switch form-factor. This was the obvious choice. It runs high end game with ease, and has been very dependable so far. Plus, you can dock it for big-screen experience if you want. My only quibble is that it could have more storage, but we DID opt for the low-end model.

he current price of $399 is pretty good and since most kids are just looking for Roblox / Minecraft / Fortnite - the non extreme model is more than enough. My son uses one and I have it locked down with Xbox family / Microsoft family to restrict has access to things but I also setup his software and launchers for him so that his Home Screen is his game list and he can pick what he wants while in game mode. If the kid is proficient with windows and can do this themselves, enabling more functionality is possible as well but I turned it into a handheld to play a majority of my Steam / GOG library for him while also allowing him to stream Gamepass and my Nvidia service over WiFi.
