Got it on sale for $400 to play last gen (PS4) games. Works well across many game. Kind of tendious to set up but the freedom it allows is all worth it.

As a computer beginner, this had my head spinning for the first night I had it. IDK what drivers are man. BUT this thing was patient with me, and when I finally got all my updates in order.... WOW. This machine is strong enough to power a spaceship, and fun enough to make you put up the Xbox. Be prepared to have it plugged in constantly though, it's an energy hog.

It was on sale so, had to try it, acutally love the product. Play it all the time. It does take a while to set upp all the games and controller but the regular version (note extreme) still can play mist of the games I want to play. I've actually transiones over to playing most of my games on it but since I have a gaming computer the ones that wont run great in it will just play on the conputer or streamplay them! I wouldn't recomend this for playing long times, the batery life is not great. Its good to play at home or a few hours but you do have to constantly charge it if you want to be anle to play for longer than an hour.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my wife, and ended up an excellent purchase for her. She'd been using my Steam Deck off and on, but uses Game Pass for a lot of her PC gaming. Linux was not user friendly for her, so this was a nice alternative for her. Everything just works out of the box, and while it has issues, those are more issues with Windows 11 than the device itself. Plays everything she wants to play (Expect to lower some settings, it is a handheld device afterall) so well worth it for the money.

I already have the ROG Ally extreme and picked this one up on sale for my Fiance. She loves it so far and I have to it does a great job running most games. Its a windows device so of course there is some tweaking to be done and settings to play around with to maximize performance. This has been running palworld flawlessy but also has been a great device for cloud streaming games. I highly recommended the ally z1 for anyone looking to get into the handheld pc market as long as you understand this devices power limitations its an excellent device for the price.

I paid $299 for my unit and for the price point I’m pretty impressed with it. I’ve never had an opportunity to play with a Steam Deck but for $299 I doubt that it can beat the Z1 Ally. The only problem with the Ally is the battery capacity and you need to have good knowledge of Windows, Radeon software and how to set your graphic settings in game to make it everything work as expected. If you just want to turn the thing on and play your game and better battery life probably the Steam deck is the way to go.

After installing many games and launchers, overall its a fantastic gamign experience, the bluetooth connecting for controller is a bit iffy, sometimes it doesn't use it properly, all games have to be launched at least once before playing offline and a menu setting has to be turned on in order to allow offline game play, stema runs great no extra work, epic is also iffy, it'll run cyberpunk fairly well if the device is on charge, but fallout and many smaller games work perfectly

I like that it runs most games at 60FPS on normal/high settings (depending on the game). It is very lightweight despite the size. I use it when a lot since I am always on the go. I have been playing halo collection and bioshock, it is a lot of fun. Some cons would be that windows 11 can be a bit annoying to use on this device. The battery life is also very short, about one hour with AAA games. Takes a bit of time messing with the settings to optimize it to your liking

Got it at a huge discount, and most people focus on what it lacks and can't do, I was skeptical at first but I was blown away at how useful it is. It can play modern games easily and what it excels on is the performance for the lighter games. The battery isn't good when you're constantly using the 25W mode but I don't find myself using that mode at all unless I am near an outlet. Overall a great product.

I purchased this on sale during Christmas, and it has either met or exceeded my expectations, especially considering the price. The performance is smooth, and the build quality feels solid for the cost. It's been an enjoyable experience so far, offering great value for the money.

The Asus rog ally is a very good console! With this console you can play Play station 3 games; and a lot more of the older consoles games! The first step you should take is upgrade the asus rog ally software and firmware! In the beginning, it takes sometime to get use to the buttons; but, once you learn to use the back button everything is simple! If you like video games, i think this console is worth the money! I am very satisfied with the Asus rog ally!

Amazing. Runs windows 11 so think laptop with controllers on the sides. A smartphone, big ol tablet, headphones and an Xbox controller would make this the ultimate portable gaming system, add or subtract one for the best configuration in your situation. If this is your goal like mine, I highly recommend the extreme version, this review is for that version only. Ps5, Xbox, steam? Yes all of them. Don't like the controllers? Keyboard and mouse. Optimal if you can keep it plugged in, battery life is the only negative but it's subjective...again think laptop. I can't speak to expanded storage.

The device build itself is high quality, the display is great and the speakers are definitely sufficient. I've bought the regular Z1 version, but I only use the device to play a 20 year old MMO. Generally speaking I'd say the Z1 version is underpowered so make sure you check your expectations going in. I was excited to see they included a stand in the box, but it was just a piece of cardboard. I'd rather they just not included anything at all. Also be aware these apparently destroy micro SD cards pretty regularly.

I got it at a good price. It's a very good device if you don't worry about playing triple A games at 4k 165hz on the go.
