Having recently acquired the ASUS ROG Ally Z1 Extreme, I can confidently say that this portable gaming device is nothing short of revolutionary. ASUS has knocked it out of the park with this impressive handheld that combines power, performance, and portability in a sleek design.
**Performance**: The Z1 Extreme is equipped with cutting-edge hardware that handles even the most demanding games with ease. The graphics are stunning, and I was amazed at how well it can run AAA titles without any lag or stutter. The frame rates remain smooth, and the loading times are incredibly quick, ensuring an uninterrupted gaming experience.
**Display**: The display quality is phenomenal. The vibrant colors and sharp resolution make every game come to life. Whether you're playing under bright lights or in dim conditions, the screen maintains its clarity and detail, providing an immersive gaming experience.
**Design**: The ergonomics of the device are superb. It fits comfortably in my hands, and the button layout feels intuitive. The build quality exudes durability, making it a reliable companion for gaming on the go. The cooling system works effectively, allowing for prolonged gaming sessions without worrying about overheating.
**Battery Life**: I was pleasantly surprised by the battery performance. It lasts long enough for extended gaming sessions, and the quick charging feature is an added bonus. I can easily play for hours without constantly searching for a power outlet.
**Software**: The operating system runs smoothly, and the integration of various gaming platforms makes it easy to access my library. The user interface is user-friendly and customizable, enhancing my overall gaming experience.
In summary, the ASUS ROG Ally Z1 Extreme has set a new standard for handheld gaming devices. It offers an unbeatable combination of performance, display quality, and design, making it perfect for both casual and hardcore gamers. The technology is really getting there however it is not yet there. There are still quite a few bugs however with the C1 extreme performance is pretty amazing. I render as high as 120 FPS on COD and drink peak times at an average about 70 FPS with a only OK connection!!

If you're serious about gaming on the go, the ASUS ROG Ally is a beast packed into a sleek, lightweight design. From the moment you pick it up, you can tell it’s built for real gamers — the 7" Full HD 1080p display running at 120Hz looks phenomenal. Everything from AAA titles to indie gems feels smooth, vibrant, and super responsive.
Powered by the AMD Ryzen Z1 processor and backed with 512GB of storage, it easily handles demanding games without stuttering or lag. Load times are lightning fast, multitasking is smooth, and honestly, it feels like you're carrying a mini high-end gaming laptop in your hands.
The design is clean and comfortable, even during long sessions. It stays surprisingly cool for such a powerful machine, and the controls feel premium and responsive. Whether you're streaming, downloading games, or playing natively, the Ally delivers every time.
Pros:
Gorgeous 120Hz Full HD screen
Powerful Ryzen Z1 performance
Lightweight and ergonomic
Generous 512GB storage for plenty of games
Great cooling system for its size
Cons:
Battery life could be longer during intense gaming
A bit pricey compared to some competitors
Windows interface can feel a little clunky on a handheld
Final Verdict:
The ASUS ROG Ally isn’t just a handheld console — it’s a full-blown gaming powerhouse you can take anywhere. If you want the freedom to play top-tier games on the move without sacrificing performance, this is absolutely worth the investment.

I’ve always day dreamt as a teenager of a handheld PC. The thought of having a handheld PC in your hands, playing it anywhere you go, on your bed, your couch, work (if they allow it!), or even a vacation to Colombia. The feeling that a small pc is in the palms of your hands feels amazing and it came to fruition that this day would come. Why need $1500 PC? Why need a console? No hate for those who do, if you’re on a budget and want take something small but something powerful enough to take it anywhere you go, this is it right here. You’re welcome.

Awesome device that is vary powerful. It has it's quirks and jank, but nothing I haven't already experienced on a regular Windows PC. As someone who also owns a Steam Deck, the Rog Ally is quickly becoming my #1 handheld.

I got it on sale (200 dollars off so it was 400) and it has worked pretty good the only thing is it has a lot of updates and one time the controls didnt work and I had to search up what was wrong, but it did get fixed after a quick update (again, a LOT of updates). Other than that it rly is an amazing console and big update from something like a nintendo switch, and it functions just like a regular pc but its smaller and you can take it everywhere so 100 percent would recommend. The graphics are also out of this world and very fast game loading on games like fortnite. Some advice in advance it does take a couple of hours to get everything ready so i would recommend doing it when you have free time, but it is definitely worth the wait. (The lights around the joystick also turn on which is very cool)

It’s a neat little handheld. The battery life leaves a lot to be desired honestly. My hands go numb after a while of playing, due to body shape. It can be a little confusing trying to switch between stuff like getting back to the main screen. Also getting the keyboard to pop up in in online games is a chore. Had to setup my own like custom button. Hence the 4 star review.

I always wanted one of these , However i seen a bunch of them returned. So i didn't pull the trigger till recently. So here's what to expect battery life is about 3-5 Hours. Graphics and screen quality is great too. The specs is slightly below an Xbox x and a ps5 which is surprising. The fact that you could play AAA Titles on the go is a dream. Also the speakers are fantastic. My only issue how hot the unit gets near the Micro SD card. A very important step is run the firmware and drivers! Otherwise the unit will have some issues. Great otherwise cheers . I will provide a full video review @ Kingdacmula on tiktoc Have a blessed day y'all.

ROG Ally for My 7 and 9-Year-Olds

I recently purchased the ROG Ally for my two kids, ages 7 and 9, and I couldn't be happier with the choice! This handheld gaming console has become their go-to entertainment for both playtime and long car rides.
First, the build quality is fantastic. It's sturdy enough to handle the occasional drop (which, as parents, we know happens), but lightweight enough for them to hold comfortably for extended gaming sessions. The buttons are responsive, and the controls are intuitive, which made it easy for my kids to pick up their favorite games without much of a learning curve.
The display is bright and clear, with vibrant colors that really bring the games to life. Both kids love the graphics, especially when playing their favorite adventure and racing games. Plus, the battery life is impressive—it lasts long enough for them to enjoy several hours of playtime without constantly needing a recharge.
One of the best parts is the wide variety of games available on the ROG Ally. My 7-year-old loves playing educational games, while my 9-year-old is more into action-packed titles. It’s great to have something that suits both their interests.
Overall, the ROG Ally has been an excellent investment for our family. It offers entertainment, portability, and durability all in one, making it a perfect gaming device for young kids. Highly recommend!

I like this little device. I paid $400 before tax for the basic non-extreme version and also got a bluetooth controller and a 512 GB SD card. It plays Death Stranding quite nicely. It's easy to hook up to the TV. I don't know about battery life because I always plug it in. The only downside is that the SD card reader overheats. I think it killed my SD card. This is an issue that has been discussed online, so you can find it out. In future, I'll just use the internal storage, maybe use an external SD card reader, or maybe upgrade the internal SSD (which I've looked up and seems quite doable).

Out of the box its great. Runs basically everything thrown at it just unfortunate you have to dim down the graphics on a bunch of things down to 720p and low settings just to get 30 or 40 fps. Other wise its great. Only main issue i have with it is that if you have it on turbo mode 25w you get like an hour of battery life before it’s completely dead. If its not constantly plugged it it struggles a bit a gets pretty hot. Overall 8/10. Nice piece of mobile gaming equipment for $400.

Great little companion for your everyday gaming sessions. I’ve used this device countless times and always works excellent. Sometimes it can be annoying when you turn it on and find out you have to sign in to epic games again and again. But that might be a me thing. Anyways, would definitely recommend and might get the rog ally x because of the better battery. For now though, I think it’s perfect.

I adore this handheld. Kinda wish I would have held out for the Z1 Extreme or the Ally X, but I got this Z1 in excellent condition open box for $320 when it was on sale.
Runs 90% of everything I’ve thrown at it with modified settings for some higher performance games. Runs HELLDIVERS 2 fine on low, etc. I mostly use it to play my back catalogue on steam, and it’s nice being able to do so in my bed. Great for emulation.

I bought as a Christmas gift for my son. I haven't given it to him yet, but I've turned it on and updated things. It was pretty easy to navigate. I was able to download his favorite games quickly. I didn't realize it was basically a computer in handheld form, which is super cool. I'm sure we will find more and more uses for it.

The ROG Ally is great! Love having windows on a haldheld. Not a plug and play device because of windows, but if you are comfortable with windows the ui and design make things easy to operate. Works very well with Game Pass streaming, and streaming my ps5 over too. Seriously can't believe how good streaming and downloaded games look and play. Playing games at 120 opposed to 60 frames is phenomenal on this screen. I really was not expecting to enjoy this device as much as I have. Purchased during a sale but would be comfortable paying more now that I know how much use it would get.

I got this at such a steal brand new for 299$ through best buy. Thing is a beast. Comes with 3 months of Microsoft game pass for free which is great because you immediately have hundreds of titles to play and test this thing. 15w mode runs games great i get like 60-70fps. Battery is meh on high settings tho only clocking in an hour before dying. Speakers are the best ive heard on any hand held device. I know the 299$ sale is over but even at 599$ this thing is worth it

One of the best items I got convinced to get! I have small hands and play cod mobile so this brought that and the real deal together very well! Easy to use and way more my style! Very comfortable gameplay and it does everything a standing of does which is insane! In such a compacted device. HIGHLY recommend this of on the go. I would say though if you do handy work and get your hands dirty often make sure to wipe your hands off before using it or just keep up with wiping off the device to keep it clean

This is such a cool device. It’s basically a tiny, portable computer (think laptop but way cooler because it’s basically a game controller) I primarily bought it so I could play certain downloaded games through Xbox and my PC on the go and it’s worked wonderfully for that! Definitely recommend.
