Great handheld for the price, i enjoyed playing it after a long day or taking it out when i knew i would have extra time to play.

I like this product. The screen is great for handheld gaming but you may need a dock for windows productivity. Great SD expansion slot for extra storage, great for retro gaming storage. Only has one USB c port so you may need a dock/adapter to connect other devices. Turbo mode device kinda gets hot but most games run well in performance mode/ silent mode. Runs windows application on par with most Windows laptops. I got it at $400 so it is a great buy at that price. At $500 still greatest for gaming because of the more powerful integrated GPU and size. but larger screens laptops may be better for productivity. Could use one more usb port on device though.

My rog ally z1 came in pristine and works great and play games I’ve had it for 1 year and it’s been doing good by me.

Great handheld. runs very well, may not run the hottest, newest games (triple a titles) but that is not really what it is for in my mind, i got it on sale and for the price, well worth it.

sweepstakes entry for writing a review. I watched YouTube videos for tips and tricks. I installed GOG with few issues, and controller based games were fine. I spent hours fighting with Xbox Game Pass because of the UI. I finally gave up. On the second day, an update was applied, and a Bitlocker screen showed up upon restart. After too much time, I discovered that the volume button would bring up the virtual keyboard. My biggest complaint is the UI. I couldn't just use the controller because the mouse pointer (and functionality) would disappear. I'm ordering the ROG charging dock to add USB A in and HDMI out.

Beautiful screen, takes time to setup. Battery life is around 1 hour to 1 and 30 mins with my testing. Runs Xbox very well. It was what I was needing to game when tv is being used.

The rig ally competed well with the steam deck. This computer is good but…at the 400 dollar price point it’s a very good computer. I myself wanted the extra power the z1 extreme model has.

I love this , I am finally able to sit on my couch and play world of warcraft . I have to download curse forge and change the direct X settings , but it plays beautifully . I love the system .

Really happy with the device so far. It’s snappy as a mobile Windows PC, and games very well. It’s also very strong on emulation. The battery life could be a little better, but that’s about my only complaint.

I bought this for away from home use and its gaming capability is great it feel right very responsive and crystal clear picture i would recommend this for anyone that wants to play like you would on a next gen console

My issue isn't necessarily with the console itself (although it arguably could be since there was an issue with the hardware) I bought a Z1 extreme last year at launch and absolutely love it, still working without any issues. Bought an open box regular Z1 yesterday that was listed in excellent condition. Got it home, turned it on and it kept restarting (full shut down/shut offs) instead of sleeping. Finally babied it through the activation process and as soon as I got it ready to use it BSOD'd. Ran diagnostics through the My ASUS app (HIGHLY recommend that you do this if you buy an open box because it's obvious Best Buy doesn't actually inspect/do bare minimum tests on these items) and it said the hard drive was failing. Took it back to Best Buy today and all they did was offer to give me my money back. I explained the manufacturer's warranty and they threatened to charge me for a Geek Squad repair (despite the My ASUS app showing that I needed to work directly with Best Buy for a repair). When I showed them that I *had* to work with Best Buy/Geek Squad for a repair they finally relented and said that they could do it but that it would take weeks and weeks to complete and there was no guarantee I would receive a working unit at the end of it. It was obvious they had no intention of actually trying to resolve the issue/value their customers or their time (I was forced to drive all around town buying it and then returning it). They didn't even offer to help me purchase another one and get it shipped to me after I reluctantly agreed to a refund and just kept trying to upsell/pressure me to buy a full price model.

I have been using the Ally over 2 months now and not a single issue , it’s smooth and clear . Battery drains quick the more potential u use on a game but if you leave plugged in will work just fine

Ohnestly over joyed with this and best buys service quick delivery. Ive played games like doom etenernal, elden ring, and star fleet and handled them all relitibly well only problem is it has a low baterry life.

This is absolutely the next level in portable gaming. This rig is not too heavy, has an amazing screen, and capable of rendering AAA games. I love it and Best buy made the purchasing a pleasant experience.

This thing is awesome! I can stream all my games from xbox, playstation, play pc games natively. If i want to run my pc games maxed out i use the geforce now service for those AAA titles with all the great visuals maxed out (ultimate service). I got this over the more expensive version because I had the intention of mainly streaming games to it on my local network for the most part. I use it everyday, i do not regret the purchase and for $399.99 it is a very nice pc. I bought a dock for mine so i can hook it to a tv in my home and use a keyboard and mouse or controller and play on a tv too. I could go on and on about it. Great bang for the buck!

ROG ally is a good device in terms of hardware, but is very lacking in the software functionality of the device, the Armory crate mode is very nice but should be more simplified, and having a mouse pad on the front like the Steam deck would be a very nice addition, when browsing the internet. Besides that the 120hz screen and led features are very very good

Bought for grandson, and he loves it! Wants to play nonstop and hard to get him to put it down

Fantastic handheld! As someone who also has a steamdeck and a switch. This one fits right in. I mainly use this for Xbox gamepass as windows is its OS (and I didn’t really want to dual boot my SD for multiple reasons) it’s nice being able to download Xbox games and play them on the go. Currently I am playing through Halo and boy oh boy does it run great! The controls feel exactly like I feel they should. I have ran into very few issues that couldn’t be corrected quickly. All in all, This is fantastic.

The product was in very good condition when I got it price was really fair considering it was on sale I was very happy and pleased with the product.
