    1st things first, if you're thinking about buying the ASUS - ROG Ally X 7" 120Hz FHD 1080p Gaming Handheld - AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme Processor - 24GB with 1TB SSD - Black, but you're on the fence, or you can't make up your mind, I recommend you just do it! I guarantee you won't be unhappy with your choice. The new ROG Ally X by Asus is just that good! I'm not saying the old versions weren't good, or that other brands aren't either, but the Ally X stands head and shoulders above all the rest. The included feature set is just amazing, I don't know how they aren't loosing money with everything that's included. I honestly would have expected to pay a lot more for what you get with the Ally X. The game play is silky smooth right out of the box! I also was able to play most of my games without even needing to remap the controls. The Ally X comes with the Armoury Crate software that allows the user to reconfigure almost every button, knob, or any other feature of the system, and also allows adjustments to the graphics processing, allocating the included 24 GB's of ram between the CPU and GPU, adjusting the battery performance profiles, and it can also act as a command center to launch all of your games from one central library no matter what publisher or gaming platform it would normally use. I ran some benchmark tests and was surprised... the average FPS on some of the more demanding games actually wasn't that high, but the low FPS were nice and smooth, and, and the game play looked and performed amazing, with no stutters, jagged edges, tearing, freezes etc... and that's the out of the box settings, I just let the Ally X determine it's own optimal set points, and was blown away by how well everything looked and performed. The charger is included, which is nice to see these days! It comes with a 65W charger but it can be used with a 100W charger for even faster charging performance. It includes 2 USB C ports, both of which can be used for charging, and for pass thru charging as well. Also the Ally X can be hooked up to an external display, via either of the 2 USB C display port outputs, and external controllers, mouse, and keyboards, and even an external graphics card can also be connected turning the Ally X into a portable gaming PC. The weight feels solid in the hand, without being to heavy for long gaming sessions, and the battery is powerful enough to watch a couple of movies, or game for several hours. The screen is beautiful, however it is very reflective, so bright lights are annoying if they're behind me but I just change the way I'm sitting and it usually isn't a problem. And lastly the speakers are really decent as well. I work in a warehouse with lots of loud noises and powerful floor fans, and I was able to hear my games clearly without even having to turn them up all the way. Overall I'm extremely happy with the Ally X, so much so that I'm even going back through my old games library and replaying some of them again. The Ally X is one of those rare home run products that I definitely recommend and know you won't be unhappy with!

    The ROG Ally X continues to put Asus at the front of the line in handheld gaming. In my opinion, the standout features of the second-generation over the first are its vastly improved battery life and enhanced storage capacity. Let’s face it, nothing sucks more than being right at the critical point in a game and then having everything shut off. Battery life in the ROG Ally X is nothing short of impressive. ASUS clearly listened and gave this model a more robust battery that offers significantly longer playtime. Whether you’re in the middle of an intense battle or exploring vast open worlds, the fear of your device dying at a crucial moment is a thing of the past. Storage capacity is another area where the Ally X shines. The previous generation’s limited storage forced gamers to make tough decisions about which games to keep installed or to spend more money on removable storage. But the new model, gives you a substantial increase in internal storage. This upgrade is particularly beneficial for those who prefer AAA titles, which can consume significant storage space (and battery!)
