Awesome little handheld! Great battery life compared to other systems and surprisingly great performance. First and foremost, like any pc/laptop, make sure you do all windows and driver updates before you go crazy downloading all your games. Some game settings might need a little tweaking to hit that performance “sweet spot. Think of it like a pc and not a Nintendo switch, and you will love everything about it…even with all the “quirks” of Windows

Great handheld! very portable. I have been able to play AAA games at medium settings and get 60+ fps. very comfortable to hold. battery life is great also!

It's amazing. It's a handheld PC and that can be janky at times, but as a lifelong nerd I find it awesome to hold a complete PC in my hands. The AMD Z1 Extreme processor it contains has also amazed me. I've played games from every platform and they've ran as well as can be expected, the battery has been more than enough, the 1TB of storage has not been an issue thus far (I have a lot of games). This is a pricey piece of technology but if you're like me it will not disappoint you. It's makes me excited for the future of handheld gaming and devices.

Absolutely love my Rogue ally x! This little machine has handled every latest title I’ve thrown at it so far! Don’t pass it up! The only thing I hate is it runs on windows 11 and can be hard navigating the menus with your finger. It could use a better OS to make it more gaming friendly.

This Device runs is amazing, Runs all my games with no problems thanks to the higher Ram. The larger battery is a huge help making most games run upward to 3hrs and it feels great in the hand. If you got the money for this I highly recommend it as its a Fantastic product

Windows for me ruins handhelds but the hardware is great. Asus does a good job working with windows but I removed windows and installed bazzite OS which is a custom Linux OS that makes it work like a steam deck. You get rid of the ability to play games like COD and Fortnite but everything is better. Smoother gameplay, no stuttering, working sleep, no windows micro management of all the updates and settings. To remove windows and install bazzite I did this. You will need a flash drive and a keyboard with a usb c adapter. As well as another computer. Go to the bios and disable secure boot Flash a flash drive with Gparted Boot into gparted and delete all the partitions Shut down and flash your flash drive with bazzite OS Boot into the bazzite flash drive and install. You now have a super charged steam deck. I can’t emphasize enough how much better it is for handheld use with bazzite OS. Games that stutter like crazy in windows like hogwarts legacy are buttery smooth on bazzite. There is no clunkiness to it and I have had ZERO crashing or stability problems on bazzite. Amazing!

I waited about 2 years before making this review so it could be accurate. This is definitely worth the price I’ve had no problems streaming from this device and playing games. I do not have a dock but using a usb bus or Bluetooth to play games on the tv has a slight delay it’s only noticeable for fast paced games. Recording can be automatic and with the built in mic you can do everything from it. It come with a built in keyboard but with two usb c ports you can use one for charging and the other for accessories. The controller does have moments where it stops responding but hitting the tab button and cycling to desktop mode and back to controller always fixes it. I rarely have to delete games I don’t have high storage cost games besides gacha games. Games with no controller won’t be a problem either since you can map buttons to operate as keyboard inputs.

An amazing product, especially if you're not exactly a Nintendo fan, but you like hand-held products like this... While it is a bit pricier than most other options, doing some research, This had to be the best option for me. It runs almost any game I throw at it, and I can bring it wherever I go!

I had the Ally for almost a year and loved it, but having to play plugged in majority of the time because of the battery defeated the purpose of having a handheld. The bigger battery and more efficient hardware make the Ally X a far better experience and allow you to really enjoy it on the go. I tried the Legion Go for a but, but found the speakers, battery life, and performance to be noticeably worse than the Ally X even though the screen is nice. Overall, the Ally X is worth the upgrade if you can trade in your current Ally and finance.

It’s a powerful machine, a bit heavy but you get used to it. Enable AFMF 2 in your AMD software settings for a nice FPS boost. Most games are optimized to run at high settings, whereas the steam deck you’re going to get low to medium on newer titles. I still think the steam deck is the better value, but if you’re willing to shell out extra cash for more horsepower then you can’t go wrong with the Ally X.

Cool piece of hardware. Powerful mini pc. Battery life wasn’t amazing but it was good enough and didn’t run too hot either while playing plugged in. I couldn’t get a few games to work without latency issues that made those few games unplayable. The majority that I tried ran great. No fps issues either. There are a ton of settings to increase efficiency or decrease to improve battery life. I ended up returning because I couldn’t justify the use cases vs the cost. I could see it being great for road trips, if you’re not the one doing all the driving.

For my first PC handheld, the Ally X is an impressive handheld gaming console that combines power and portability. It delivers smooth gameplay and stunning graphics. The 24GB of RAM ensures multitasking and retro gaming via Emulation Station is a breeze, enhancing the overall user experience. While its performance and battery life are beyond good, that price point is a bit steep. Additionally, the limitations of Windows 11 can be a drawback for some gamers. Overall, a solid choice for gaming on the go, you won't be disappointed.

I wasn’t sure how keen I was on handhelds but the Ally X is great. It for sure has its limitations. If you’re willing to sacrifice some of the modern AAA titles super flashy graphic presets, it can hang with mid range PC’s. It really didn’t like playing Borderlands 4 at launch, but the game itself had/has optimization issues.

Plays AAA Games with no issues, and is great for on the go gaming or even in your favorite chair.

I'll start off by saying I do like this handheld. It's the best on the market I believe. My major issue is value. Pros: Powerful, portable windows PC with gaming joysticks. NO issues out of the box. Plays everything you would expect to play and more. Negatives: PRICE. This thing is $799. You have to let that sink in and reevaluate what your getting. You can pretty much buy a laptop, with more power for the same price. A handheld should not cost that much. The steam deck and switch are correctly priced in my opinion for what your getting. I bought this because I got caught up in the reviews and wanting the best. But tons of buyers remorse, and from seeing all the used ones for sale, I can see why. Battery: not the best when you're on the go. You can upgrade the part, but it should just come with that bigger battery for the price your paying. SO in the end, this thing is great, but extremely over priced. You can buy an xbox for half. You can buy a decent gaming laptop for the same price. Get the laptop, and carry around a xbox controller and you have a better solution.

Device works wonderfully. Have had no issues with the games I have been playing on it. Battery life seems to be decent as long as it is not a very demanding game. Would recommend to others.

It's amazing. Windows OS pre-installed and everything works flawlessly. I even tried various things and they all works great. It's just like gaming PC in handheld version. However, not all games will be easily playable because some don't support controller layouts like my favorite game World of Warships, unfortunately, but there are still plenty of fun to be had.

The improvements to The ROG Ally X make it leaps and bounds a better handheld than other windows handhelds on the market. Thanks to upgrades like the analog sticks tighter retention, bigger battery, thicker handles, more RAM and faster RAM aswell as a Thunderbolt 4 port. Ive ran quite a few games on it and most games run amazing it on. The only games ive had an issue with is Remnant 2 being a very heavy and unoptimized game and some stuttering on Borderlands 3 which i fixed with the texture streaming
