What can I say, im a PC gamer mainly, but I own other pieces of hardware, ps5,switch,xbox and so on, i was very hesitant to buy this unit because of the cost, but what a machine, this piece of hardware is more powerful than I expected, i like playing MMO like FFXIV and this hamdheld can run it almost at 60fps on turbo mode (Laptop hight settings), the controller is very slick and it feels great to hold on your hands, the weight is on point and the battery last very long on my opinion, and since its windows you can run all your apps, convine with a BT mouse i also got i was able to modified jist like a PC, feel great to have this console and now i can be anywhere with wifi or hotspot and play FFXIV and other AAA games. Go for it, indid and im happy with it. This unit exceeded expectations. Will recommend 10/10

Currently had this device for roughly 2 weeks and it just exceed expectations. It’s completely capable of operating at a laptop level, which was not my original intent for this, but it’s absolutely welcome as I don’t have a laptop currently. Its currently runs most games I’ve tried (borderlands 3 and diablo 4) really well. Although some games may not be fully optimised for joysticks. I thing I should add is that the device needs many updates at the beginning, including one that is essential for the device to default to joystick and not keyboard when you launch the game. This update will be prompted at the bios when restart the ROG, do not skip this!

Easily my favorite device I have owned. I used it as my main computer for a while, with a dock connected to a monitor, keyboard and mouse. It does everything you need it to, and is amazing for gaming in bed or while you’re not home. The screen is good, but would’ve preferred an 8 inch one or an oled. However, with that I’d still prefer this device over similar ones on the market. Amazing experience 10/10 everything. Also, I bought the 2tb storage version because I have LOTS of games. I would recommend paying the extra 100$ for it.

After spending a few months with the ROG Ally X, I can confidently say it is the most refined handheld gaming PC on the market. It takes everything that made the original great and fixes nearly every "version one" quirk. -Desktop Power in Your Palms- The heart of this beast is the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, and it continues to be a total powerhouse. Whether I’m playing demanding AAA titles like Cyberpunk 2077 or indie gems, the performance is smooth and consistent. Combined with the upgraded 24GB of high-speed RAM, the device handles multitasking and modern VRAM-hungry games without breaking a sweat. -Storage and Future-Proofing One of my favorite upgrades is the move to a full-sized M.2 2280 SSD slot. Out of the box, the 1TB storage is ample for a solid library, but knowing I can easily swap in a massive 4TB drive later without needing specialized, tiny SSDs is a huge win for enthusiasts. -Endurance and Ergonomics- The "X" really stands for extra battery life. The 80Wh battery is a game-changer; I’m finally getting through long sessions away from a charger without that constant "low battery" anxiety. Perhaps the most underrated change is the feel of the device: Xbox-Inspired Controls: The grips are deeper and much more comfortable than the original. It feels remarkably similar to holding an Xbox Wireless Controller, which makes the transition from console to handheld feel natural. Improved Precision: The joysticks and triggers feel tighter and more premium, providing that tactile feedback you need for competitive shooters or precision platformers. -The Verdict- If you want a Windows-based handheld that doesn’t compromise on battery, power, or comfort, the ROG Ally X is the one to beat. It’s a premium piece of tech that feels like it was built by people who actually play games.

I absolutely love my Asus ROG ally! It has been so long since I’ve had a gaming computer, and I have this powerhouse that I can portably take with me has made me put my Nintendo Switch to the side and into retirement so I could truly enjoy games like Fortnite and Pal World and other awesome games from the PC and the power of my hands. It has been one of my best purchases and I would never ever ever go back to any other handheld system. I can even use it like a PC hooking it to a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and play games even build 3-D models.

The ROG Ally X is actually really good. My product had no defects out of the box which is great. 1tb storage is enough for some but not for me so I upgraded it myself. The Ally X works great and runs games well! It is fantastic and so far no issues. Get this if you can afford it. If not, get a steam deck. Both are fantastic!

I would give this five stars but the first one was buggy I almost thought it was me before I realized that I had done every troubleshoot and it still didn't work. I returned it and got a second one that worked like a breeze. I updated to a 4tb card which I filled with games. It still is buggy to where I would have to turn off the handheld and turn it back on. I played about two hours of Red Dead Redemption on it and then use it now as a pc connected to a monitor in my living room for now and with all the battery saving features I keep it connected to the doc. This thing is also lightly used and has a kill switch case on it so from the time I got it to now this thing has been used that way. I use this thing like a pc. Your experience may vary. So far it works faster than my other pc that you can't play games on. Which makes me want to use this for school and other productivity activities aside for gaming so I think this thing is good for anything.

Great device for handheld gaming and travel, but a little bulky, expensive, and wished there was more storage. It can certainly handle AAA games and being used as a home desktop, but I use it more for travel as I still have a custom built pc. I also, love that it does not limit me to a certain gaming platform and the Armory crate supports plenty of them.

I love being able to game on the go or at home on a monitor or tv. The rog ally x is the best thing I’ve discovered that allows portability in gaming. Its battery is also very good for gaming with AAA titles for 2 hours and with classics like Final Fantasy or any other 2d game, up to 8 and a half hours of gameplay, at least for my experience. It may not have an oled screen but it makes up for it with the VRR installed. I have been playing games more than I was able to.

I did a lot of seasonal work and love video games. I didnt want to sacrifice my love for games for my work and bought this. Dont regret it at all. Im able to play final fantasy 7, Forza 4 and 5, and God Of War, with decently high fps and graphics. Love that you have the option to plug a egpu to it to run games faster. The cherry on top is that its a capable computer as well. Great for studios since its quiet and fast. You can buy a dock for this thing to plug monitors into and having it pair with an egpu makes this amazing for someone who wants to get into PC gaming and is looking to expand their setup at a later date. If you got the cash, BUY IT!

Amazing device. Well worth the price for what is basically a computer you could fit in your hoodie’s pocket! It being a literal pc brings the freedom of what a desktop pc offers, the sky is the limit when it comes to modifications to fit your needs. You buy a dock to use mouse and keyboard, or take it on the go with the amazing battery life this handheld provides. I am thoroughly impressed, and saying I am happy with my purchase would be the biggest understatement of my life!

I havent found a flaw with this device that i found with is predecessor and its competitor the steam deck. I owned both previous. I sold them as one left performance to be desired and the ally 2023 the performance was there but not the battery life and it being a handheld it made no sense for me to take it with me without battery banks and chargers to get only about 40 minutes of battery life with AAA games. So i returned it to best buy. This is exactly what i was looking for a year ago and im not disappointed. I now have 24gb of ram and the cpu and gpu have been optimized. With custom settings and amd afmf 2 drivers or using lossless frames app i get great frames if i need it. Games run great. It beats any other device when it comes to ps3 and xbox 360 emulation. Indie games just run forever on this device. I have been impressed so far.

The ASUS ROG Ally X is a marvel a powerful portable machine I made a comparison with the MSI Claw and the two ASUS ROG ally and both came out superior to the MSI Claw both consoles offer power Bruta and if you want a switch style console capable of running heavy games at high quality I recommend the Asus Rog Ally X for 800 dollars or less on sale, also Laptops with the same components are worth a thousand dollars up so if you don't want to spend so much money to play the Asus ROG Ally X is a good option 10/10

Amazing performance. Armory crate really helps hides the windows flaws when it comes to a portable gaming experience. No complaints, amazing battery life, awesome screen, suburb performance. COD? Check RDR2? Check WoW? Check Play all your games!

I like this way better than my legion go. Yes, the screen is smaller but it run so buttery smooth and lighter as well. Great battery life! Awesome job ASUS! 24gb of memory is aweso.e as well!

The device works phenomenal. Absolutely love it. I truly enjoy all the game play available for this device. And the best part is its mobile. I dont even use any consoles anymore. I onlty play my asus rog ally x.

This is my first handheld PC and I don’t regret my purchase at all. So much power in the Ally X, super impressive. I’m able to play games like Black Myth Wukong, Overwatch 2, Baldurs Gate 3 and Elden Ring with little to no issues whatsoever (obviously perfect for cozy games as well.) I already own a PC, but the convenience of having something like this just made me enjoy gaming all over again, especially with me traveling a lot these days. I plan to upgrade my SSD to 4TB’s because 1TB is just not enough. Definitely would recommend!

This this is awesome. I can play steam, windows games, and stream my playstation remotely. Battery life is great.I took a 3 hour flight and made it through the whole flight without having to charge it. I have even docked it and played with a monitor, mouse and keyboard. It's perfect for travel and for home. Even in turbo mode (max power and graphics) it's still quiet. It's the best of both worlds home and on the road.

Bought this instead of the steam deck and I have no regrets at all. Both are good and the Ally has far less restrictions on the games you can buy/play. The screen even though not OLED like the Steam deck is noticeably sharper and clear (the steam decks colors are more vivid for sure). The power of the ally really lets you get great FPS/graphics balance with some tinkering. If you got the money the ROG Ally X is a top choice, if you’re on a budget get the steam deck OLED it’ll do you just fine

The rog ally x is probably the best financial decision i’ve ever made it runs games smoothly last from anywhere to about 2-8 hours depending on the games you play and on the wattage type you use but overall it runs fantastic and plays games phenomenally
