I didn't own a steam deck but always recommended it to my friends. I decided to wait until one of these companies figured out how to make a windows handheld last as long as the steam deck or at least get close. Why? Cuz I want to be able to play everything. And this does that, I have comfortably played and beaten a few games. I'm currently playing ratchet and clank rift apart on it and yes, it doesn't run as perfect as running in on my 4080 gaming pc. At 900p, I am lucky to get a constant 40fps but the fact I can play it mostly comfortably is crazy. On lesser titles, this thing is a breeze. Emulation up to 360/ps3 is also really good. The only reason this isn't my main computer hooked up to an eGPU is cuz I already own a gaming pc. But if I didnt, I would be using this for everything. So why wait? Well it doesn't have an oled screen and I believe it was cuz they didn't wanna sacrifice variable refresh rate? I'm guessing that is technology coming to some of the models coming this year. It also should have an updated more powerful chip and I expect the next model to drop by next year with an 8" screen. And whenever that does drop, this solid machine will either be available for way cheaper or best yet, used for even cheaper. If you don't care about fomo, this thing is great and should stay great for a few years.

Rog ally x is actually a really interesting and amazing handheld PC device. It’s excellent for gaming I’m able to run GTA five Call of Duty® cyberpunk 2K any game you can think of without any issue while on the go, I’ve tested and used it myself multiple times while playing GTA or Call of Duty® from my iPhone hotspot and I’ve never had any issues with lag or glitching or anything it’s also good for being able to use as a main PC if you get an extended monitor and a ROG ally docking station and keyboard and. Mouse connect them together overall I would recommend this if you are looking for a PC only go and or are looking to play PC games while I only go whether it’s traveling on a plane or you know you are on a road trip or do you just wanna leave your house and you obviously can’t take your PC with you. You can take you’re rog ally with you overall after using it and even taking it to Japan with me and being able to get on the plane, I would definitely recommend this and I would give it a 10 out of 10

Loving my ROG Ally X! Super fun to use, runs everything smooth, and it’s perfect for gaming on the go. It’s crazy how much power it has for the size. Honestly, I’ve been using it more than my console lately. Totally worth it.

This device has been really great to use and is really comfortable for long gaming sessions as the battery permits hours long sessions. Coming from the Z1 Extreme ROG Ally, I knew I wanted a device that allows me to play untethered to the wall for as long as possible and this device delivers. And although the screen is only 7 inches, when you're playing it really doesnt matter in the moment. Not a fan of the price increase but for the performance you get and the 8GB nice to allocate to other resources when needed. I would rate this device an 8/10 and a 10/10 when bazzite is installed.

It feels great in my hands and so far its giving me no problems what so ever been able to run every game i tried decently well

I have a steam deck already and enjoy that but wanted something that could handle a bit more. Just picked up the Ally X. Be prepared to set it up and download updates for the first couple hours. There are some great videos on YouTube guiding you through basic setup and optimization as well as giving a few tips. Definitely watch a few of those first if you have any concerns about windows. Once it was set up I played whatever games I wanted. Good framerates and really easy to use. It has been a really good experience so far and I like have access to all of my game libraries without having to do work arounds. Joysticks feel really good, it is comfortable to hold. I was able to play black ops 6 unplugged for over two hours while on the run. So the battery life is sufficient as well. Very happy with the purchase.

This is a pretty neat device. Game performance is satisfactory, and the battery life is quite good. It is suitable for use while traveling. Im happy with the device, however the legion go has a much better screen.

I feel like this is a pretty niche piece of tech, that isn't made for most gamers. For me, it fit perfectly! I travel a fair bit and hate having to lug around a big gaming laptop. However, I also like to do work. You might think that this doesn't seem like it would be great for productivity, and you'd be right. However, I paired it with a dock, keyboard, mouse, and a portable monitor. Now I have the choice to pack a small gaming device for short trips or a whole desktop setup for longer trips. Not for everyone, but great for me and my weird applications. Side Note: It performs really well for the price

Love it! I put a 4tb SSD and use steam os and Windows. Can run anything I throw at it. Even cities Skylines 2!! Stopped using my steam deck oled because it was that good. Only wish it had a oled but still great screen.

Excellent handheld! I know a lot of people prefer steam deck and steam os but I like having windows. It’s literally a nice gaming pc that you can use to play games while you travel or hook it up to a dock and have the full experience of a gaming of with your monitor keyboard and mouse. When I’m at home at my desk I just plug it in and play. I also use this as a pc for school work. It’s has enough room to download games and if you wanna keep all your internal space for gaming and use a seperate space for other stuff just hook up an external ssd or add a sd card to the slot. Been playing the new oblivion and call of duty and it’s great. With windows I can switch between steam and Xbox gaming easily.

Great device and has had no problems with any game. Easily connected to a TV/monitor and all kinds of devices for play at home or for travel. My go to travel gaming device!

Coming from console , this is an excellent device for gaming, streaming or just surfing the web. If you don't mind windows this is a great device. I've had for about a year and love it more than my ps5. The access to a vast amount of PC games makes this device worth it. The ally x is sturdy( i dropped it on concrete no case screen still mint but the bottom corner tooks a beating and chipped. Highly recommend getting a case and you'll be fine , i dropped it countless times after and still holding strong. I bought this last black Friday for a great deal. I have yet to run into a game i couldn't play on this. Pros: Gaming anywhere with nice fps nice feel battery life Game catalog easy to open and upgrade parts Cons: The plastic sides can chip if dropped Windows(if u dont like the os) Setting up to your liking takes a little time Asus support Screen is connected to front cover

My favorite device I have. I travel for work and have school. I have my home computer sync to this and can work on assignments either on the device, on a tv or another portable monitor. Once I'm done I game on it. Don't forget a docking station. That makes it well worth the price.

I carefully considered several options for handhelds before purchasing the Ally X. And after a month with the device, I can say I made the right choice. The battery life is excellent, the screen is gorgeous, and the controls feel like a quality made controller, not a cheap add on of buttons and sticks.

I had the Legion Go before this and in my opinion I prefer this ROG Ally X for the battery life and ergonomics. It can also run any Triple A games relatively well.

It works good. For a portable pc it runs well and runs all the games well. It only runs good fps at low settings for triple A games. Don’t expect high performance but if you don’t might lower fps at high settings than it’s good.

Loved the fact that the battery is bigger and i can play for a longer amount of time without having to stay plugged in. Windows on a handheld isnt too bad at all, keep in mind, its a handheld, dont expect it to be a full blown PC. Runs most AAA games really well. I find myself using this more than my gaming desk top
