This is my first hand held pc and I muat say I'm blown away by the battery! The battery last long and the device stays cool during my game time. It may not be for everyone because the screen size is smaller than the Legion Go but its still amazing.

I purchased this for my husband it has awsome graphics, its speed is very fast easy to transport for him because he is a truck driver

This system has been so much fun. It is in great shape, works perfectly. It has run every game and program that has been downloaded to it. IT has a great picture. Never has a lag. I love it

The Rog Ally X has been a valuable workhorse as part of my travel gaming needs. It’s been able to run everything I typically play without problems. I appreciate the different power modes and the auto selection when it’s plugged in. The Rog gets a good 3 hours of gameplay before having to charge. This has been perfect for my work or holiday travels. Pair this with a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard and you basically have a full fledged PC!

This device is great! I have used it so much since I bought it, it might not be as easy to use as the steam deck but as long as you are willing to do some windows tweaking it runs perfect. I had to uninstall some normal windows things that for some reason Microsoft things should be on a handheld, I know because it is just base windows but still they need a solution to have a bespoke windows fork for handhelds. The device is so wide open you can do anything with it, the only thing I wish it had is an Oled screen, performance is great, haven’t had any issues with overheating but that OLED screen on the steam deck is beautiful compared to the LCD.

I have used both the regular ASUS ROG, and now the X. The difference is MASSIVE. The X is significantly faster and smoother. Everything about it is better. More storage, more speed, and less headaches.

this thing runs any game i throw at it at 60+ fps. definitely recommend for on the go gaming for couch bingeing your favorite game. i loved it so much i bought my friend one so we could play together.

Best gaming handheld so far hands down! Paired with a portable monitor and you got a mini pc that can run any hame with decent fps.

Coming from only playing on PC and never owning a console personally, I will say this is the most fun I ever had gaming. I mostly play single player games and occasionally hop on to multiplayer games. The setup process is a little clunky to get used to. But, once you get used to using armory crate it is a very enjoyable process. This is now replacing my main gaming system of i9-9700k and a rtx 3060. In plugged in mode it is very comparable to my old setup while taking up 1/10th the space.

The build quality of the ROG Ally X is solid, and its cooling system and battery performance show significant improvements over the original Ally. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. Windows 11 continues to be a frustrating experience; it remains overly bloated, and the AMD drivers are just not stable enough. I encountered frequent random game freezes, crashes, and issues with Windows updates breaking the drivers. I ended up spending more time troubleshooting and tweaking the system than actually enjoying games, which led me to return the device. As for whether the new Xbox Ally X will solve these problems, I’m uncertain. What I do know is that the Z2 Extreme will need to be a significant leap forward in both performance and efficiency compared to the Z1, with far less need for Windows tweaking. Ideally, there should be a single, user-friendly platform for updating the operating system, drivers, and other components. If you're after a device that offers a "pick up and play" experience with minimal fuss, the Steam Deck or the Nintendo Switch 2 are better options. However, if you enjoy fine-tuning the OS and don’t mind the occasional game crash or system hiccup, then the ROG Ally X might still be worth considering. However, keep in mind that SteamOS is not a viable solution to the problems above; its lack of compatibility and issues with anti-cheat software make Linux unsuitable for serious gaming.

This machine was amazing. I got stuck playing spiderman for 3-4 hours because how fun the game was on the rog. The one issue i had with it was after 4 days of having it the volume down button stopped working and now the product has been discontinued. Not sure what i will get next but this thing was great for the short while it worled for me.

I love this handheld. With my experience with this thing, I could honestly say it’s the best handheld out there for gaming and basically everything. A pc on the go.

The ASUS ROG Ally X is what the Ally Z1 Extreme should have been. Owning the Ally Z1 Extreme I felt the 16GB of total RAM was way too small for what most current games need, specially when it's being shared between system RAM and Video RAM. It was a delicate balance of setting the right amount between the two and dropping down settings in games so that they play as best as possible. Comparing the Ally X to the Z1 Extreme it's a significant upgrade. I have been comparing the same games on both systems and graphics settings can be bumped up on the Ally X. I have experienced better perfomance with games as well, even emulation runs way better on the Ally X. Many say that the X is not worth the upgrade, but having both and running the same applications and games, I totally saw the performance increase. If you're struggling to decide between the Z1 Extreme or the X, I would say the X hands down if you want the best perfomance.

So far it works fine. I went in with low expectations. I feel that the battery runs out fast depending on which games you play, still I was surprised about being able to play most of the games I have. It takes a little time to get used to the small screen, but portability is great.

My experience with the ally x has been nothing short of amazing. it runs games well and is very easy to use and navigate. i definitely would recommend it to anyone looking for a portable gaming platform

So far I have only played Hogwarts Legacy on the Ally X. I am also not super crazy technical where I am gunna open it up and re-solder the parts to make it better. (I may add an additional SSD later). Just from base use, it works very well for what I was expecting. I get about 3 hours of playing Hogwarts Legact from full charge to dead. Something to know is that it will not charge with anything less than a 60w charging block. Turbo requires 100w or more (the charge it comes with is 60w, so you will not be able to turbo charge it with the charger in the box). I did have to knock off a star because of Windows 11. The amount of updates and random stuff you have to go through just to set this thing up is ridiculous. Why cant it come fully updated? It literally took a good 8 hours just to get to the point where I could download a game. Beyond that. This works amazing for a handheld PC. It does get warm, but not uncomfortablely so. One major thing I wish they thought of was having the buttons light up. I play in the dark quite often and trying to see which button is which is very difficult, especially when trying to learn the mechanics of a new game. Im surprised this wasn't a base feature, since most controller buttons light up. I have only had it about 2 weeks, but as of right now, I would recommend it.

I wanted something more portable than a laptop. This does the job fine. Full windows capability. Only 2 ports, but is enough for me. So far, it's great, except I need more storage. Easy enough to upgrade storage.

I really love this thing. Games look great on it and I can use Steam, Epic, EA, etc no issues. The biggest plus for me is that since its windows 11 I can run Launchbox and have all my emulation on it as well. Its pretty confortable in the hands overall, I wish the sides were more rounded out to be a little fuller for a more comfortable grip over time. With the horsepower this has I see it being viable for games for quite a few years.

I really love this device. I had a lot of fun playing some old games from the Xbox app. It's also very fun playing with friends with your Sting games and epic games. I was shocked on how well everything runs. Sadly, there was there was a bit of screen tearing, but there is a program that helps with that.
