I wasn't a fan of Windows on the Ally X, so i am now running Bazzite. I actually like Bazzite so much that I swapped out Steam OS on my 512 Steam Deck LCD as well. Highly recommend this if you're okay with losing the things that linux can't provide like anticheat support. Ally X stays nice and cool without annoyingly loud fans and the rear buttons are easy to get to wothout also being easy to accidentally hit. Overall having come from the Steam Deck LCD, its a bit expensive but I can see myself using the Ally X for years to come and even consider selling my desktop in order to run the ally as my main computer going forward.

Picked this up awhile ago in preperations for a trip and I gotta say im very happy with it. As a steamdeck owner having the option to pick this up when I just want a windows client is very nice. i find it easy to navigate in the hand held mode and havent had many major issues, the only thing ive had issues with would be the keyboard hiding when im clicking into a prompt box.

Extremely comfortable. One of the best handhelds on the market. I was tossing up between this and the steam deck and ultimately went with the rog and I’m very happy that I did. Performance is way above the steam deck and it supports windows AND steam OS. Best of both worlds!

This handheld has quickly become my primary gaming system. Dual-booting Windows and Bazzite to maximize utility and access to my large legacy Steam library has been great. The built-in display is fantastic, and having the ability to charge and hook up XR glasses (Viture Pro) for a "big screen" experience is a game changer. I have logged 40+ hours on Hogwarts Legacy and time in many other AAA titles so far, and it has handled the task admirably. This is the king of handhelds right now.

This is a great handheld gaming machine for anyone looking to play their favorite games on the go (or at work, while on break)! I've had this for a little over a month now and haven't had any issues, so far! I do tend to use this mostly to play WoW while on break at work with a hub so I can hook up to peripherals and use my own hotspot - but I've also used it a bunch of times when I have friends over to play Palia so they don't have to cram into my computer room. I use the JSAUX case with hard front cover so I can just slip this into my backpack and go.

I've been using the Roy Ally X for a few weeks now, and I'm very impressed with its performance. Was kinda skeptical at first but once I opened this when I got home I was truly amazed with the weight, functionality, and how the games really played on it! Great graphics and overall play! 10/10 in my book

This thing is great and finally allowed me to play my Steam backlog now that I can do it anywhere. You can install SteamOS on it now (or even dual boot) and have the best of both worlds. Highly recommend.

The Ally X comes packed with plenty of features. It has a great LCD screen (no OLED) but it doesn't detract from the experience. The inclusion of 24GB is a god send. I set my VRAM to 10GB in the bios and it makes a huge difference. I checked out the Steam Deck and the Lenovo Legion and found the Ally to be the sweet spot.

I got it a little cheaper at the excellent version open box. It had a few smudges and was fine out of the box. The only issue was that when i was starting it up for the first time it already crashed which was a little concerning but i reset it and was able to set it up. I have been trying out different things and trying to push the device to the limits. It surprisingly enough runs elden ring surprisingly well and it wasnt even plugged in. However some games require setup and is a little annoying to play a game i am having serious issues with right now is the binding of issac rebirth. Which by no means is a hard game which is confusing. Lies of P, Elden ring, dead cells and TFT for league of legends. I still have alot left to try but this is what i have confirmed so far.

The ROG Ally X is an amazing handheld gaming device! The performance is top-notch, allowing me to play even demanding AAA games without a hitch. Way much better than SteamDeck, both performance and battery life. And Windows brings all the possibilities for gaming. Need 2TB and 4TB version, 1TB is never enough.

The ROG Ally X is definitely a powerful handheld, and I can tell it’s built with high-end specs and performance in mind. The screen looks great and everything runs smoothly, but as an average gamer, I honestly don’t feel like I’m getting $900 worth of value out of it. It’s fast and impressive, but a lot of the technical upgrades are things I can’t really appreciate day to day. For casual gaming, the price just feels way too high, and I think there are more affordable options that would fit my needs just as well.

I purchased the rogue alley x because I’m a Mac user and have never had a gaming pc. Connecting a monitor, keyboard, and mouse is super easy and allows you to operate it as a desktop computer. The convenience of being able to play controller supported pc games on the go is seriously awesome. The operating system can be clunky on such a small touch screen, but learning some of the button combinations will help you navigate and pop up keyboards pretty well. This system has replaced my ps5 for the time being.

Steam OS is great for pc gaming compared to windows but with bazzite this is better than steamdeck oled. You really feel the upgrade. Windows OS is not designed for handheld so its not ideal. But now bazzite or steam os works great so you can have the best of both worlds. Good build quality. It feels like a compact tank

I have a 1st gen ROG ALLY z1 extreme and the extra ram on this really makes a difference. The battery is much bigger as well.
