I was originally looking to buy a new gaming laptop as my laptop is getting old and can barely play newer games with friends. Even for just casual gaming on low specs. As I've been a fan of Asus for several years now when i saw this device, I immediately knew I had to get it. This allows me to get the perfect fill of gaming with my friends again and even neat that you can use jt like any other computer with a USB-C Docking Station. Would definitely recommend you consider this for your gaming and entertainment needs!

Has endured near daily-use since opening on Christmas. Absolute beast of a machine, would recommend to anyone! My wife and I are both gamers, and each have our individual accounts through Windows. 2TB is certainly the way to go if you've got multiple users.

Overall its worth the money, ive bought this for Christmas n its my first handheld pc. i got a one TB card to go with it as well. it plays black op 6 well n forza horizon 5 well also. i got the 2TB so i can pack as much games as i need. its easy too use n make u get a protective case for it.

Rog Ally X is the best handheld gaming option for enthusiasts. The performance and battery life is second to none. Windows on handhelds is not the best, but it's serviceable. I recommend installing Bazzite, which is based on SteamOS.

Runs great and functions well. Purchased for my younger son and would say i would recommend it more for a teenager or adult and not a younger kid.

The ROG Ally X is a powerful handheld, and dual-booting made it even better. I wasn’t thrilled with Windows for handheld use, so I set up a second partition with Bazzite. With the 2TB SSD, a 75/25 split (larger for Bazzite) worked well—keep Windows around for Game Pass and use Bazzite for everything else. Performance: Excellent. Games ran great and the hardware feels fast. Why I returned it (your mileage may vary): 1. Screen size: At 7", it caused eye strain for me—especially in PC titles that don’t scale well for small displays. 2. Ergonomics for large hands: The rear button placement forced a “claw” grip to avoid accidental presses, which wasn’t comfortable over time. Bottom line: If 7" suits your eyes and your hands aren’t large, the Ally X is easy to recommend—especially with a Bazzite/Windows dual-boot. For my use, the screen and ergonomics were dealbreakers, so I returned it.

The 80Wh battery lasts 2.5-8 hours, the ergonomic design feels premium, and Windows 11 lets me use Steam, Game Pass, or even work apps. The dual USB-C ports, Dolby Atmos speakers, and quiet cooling are fantastic, though Windows can be clunky on a small screen, and the $899.99 price is steep. An OLED display would be nice, but the IPS is still great. Best Buy’s fast delivery and holiday deal made this a no-brainer—I highly recommend grabbing this gaming gem!

Impressive performance and really good battery life. Very comfortable to use. The screen looks amazing and the controls are in convenient locations. I would have liked the smaller buttons near the screen to have some sort of backlight option since they are much harder to identify in low lighting. Armoury Crate sucks and crashes a lot but can be restarted without having to close out of the game. It is possible to install a different OS onto the NVMe drive if you wanted something other than Windows 11. Unfortunately the micro SD card slot cannot be used as a bootable media but oddly enough a USB flash drive can be. Supports charging up to 100W if you have a power supply that outputs that much. It comes with a 65W supply which is good enough to charge while playing. If plan on using this on a long road trip, I highly recommend getting the Baseus 160W car charger. It keeps my son's Ally X fully charged while he plays it and doesn't get super hot.

Its a pretty good handheld. Feels nice, looks nice and allows me to play so many games on the go, on the bed and when im not near my pc (and when i dont have a good pc either). But i gotta say, i am pretty disappointed that even though the device seems like its a powerful gamepad, I STILL have to turn graphics to medium and sometimes to low even on turbo mode. I dont know if im doing something wrong but it truly disappointed me when i noticed it cant really run much games at high and sometimes even medium. REALLY disappoint me when it sometimes cant run graphics at medium. Like theres studdering at points on high or medium in some games or low performance that require me to turn it to low and it sucks. But it can still play these games overall. So i gotta say its a decent upgrade from my lame pc. Just not a GREAT upgrade. Just a good one. Its not the best handheld but its something. Thay dont mean the other alternatives are better tho. They probably run a lil worse. But this is still a pretty good handheld. Hoping another version comes out that gives a wayyyyyy better performance on games, especially new ones. You think ROG would make a amazing handheld just for it to only be decent.

Is the perfect device if u don’t want a laptop or if tu travel the most part of the time, I used it to work, to play, to design, to stream, and works rlly good, it’s the best option for people love play video games when u r traveling also if u need to work u just need a monitor if u want, if not u can use the display of the asus but in my case, I preferably use my own monitor and sometimes the TV

It's not enough for a the gaming experience I want. The ROG Zephryus is a better buy in my opinion with a more powerful CPU and of course GPU. This thing had it's ups and with some cases feels like an amazing device but I honestly just found myself forcing myself to find games to play that run well on it when I have 3 towers at home. The final straw for me was a couple of crashes and not being able to deal with the fact that eventually it could develop stick drift which since this handheld is the whole experience, I couldnt get over when coupled with the fact I was fighting to find games that are A - in my library on Steam and various launchers, B - have a SteamDeck mode or an acceptable FPS. I don't think someone who buys this would regret it especially if they didn't already own a high end system and have an idea of how they want games to run. Maybe it's mismatched expectations because this thing handles games fairly well given what it actually is but I feel like an Ally II or the next generaation will add those extra 10-15 frames to take you from 45 to 60 FPS and beyond. Some games were down in the inconsistent and stuttery feeling 20s at 720P lowest settings is the only way you got 30 (Warhammer Space Marine 2)

I've owned the steam deck and the rog ally z1 extreme before getting this handheld , I didnt have any real problems playing anything on the z1e before upgrading to this , Bit I have noticed better frame rate and alot better battery and the temp is considerably cooler /fans quiter on this compared to the z1e. I able to get around 75 fps on Mk1 over 60 fps on The last of us 1. Havent found anything unplayable, that wasnt my experience on the steam deck . Get this is you want ro be able to actually play all of your pc games and not just a select few from steam like the steamdeck.

So this handheld is quite powerful for a portable PC and you will not be disappointed. The battery pack lasts for hours and I literally downloaded all of my favorite games with the 2tb version and have plenty of room leftover. With some of the modern titles you may have to turn the graphics settings down a little but that is to be expected, still though, you will not be disappointed with this handhelds power and performance.

This device is what the switch wanted to be and what a steam deck tries to achieve. Its got power, battery life, you name it its got it. Personally have not had any issues playing any game and i play a latge diveristy. No stutter, lag, frame drops, that is of course as long as you set your setting well enough. Plus the 2 terabytes modle is perfect. Meaning you can have more than just CoD installed haha. 10/10 and have recommened to every gamer i know that cant game at home all the time.
