It's not enough for a the gaming experience I want. The ROG Zephryus is a better buy in my opinion with a more powerful CPU and of course GPU. This thing had it's ups and with some cases feels like an amazing device but I honestly just found myself forcing myself to find games to play that run well on it when I have 3 towers at home. The final straw for me was a couple of crashes and not being able to deal with the fact that eventually it could develop stick drift which since this handheld is the whole experience, I couldnt get over when coupled with the fact I was fighting to find games that are A - in my library on Steam and various launchers, B - have a SteamDeck mode or an acceptable FPS. I don't think someone who buys this would regret it especially if they didn't already own a high end system and have an idea of how they want games to run. Maybe it's mismatched expectations because this thing handles games fairly well given what it actually is but I feel like an Ally II or the next generaation will add those extra 10-15 frames to take you from 45 to 60 FPS and beyond. Some games were down in the inconsistent and stuttery feeling 20s at 720P lowest settings is the only way you got 30 (Warhammer Space Marine 2)

Is the perfect device if u don’t want a laptop or if tu travel the most part of the time, I used it to work, to play, to design, to stream, and works rlly good, it’s the best option for people love play video games when u r traveling also if u need to work u just need a monitor if u want, if not u can use the display of the asus but in my case, I preferably use my own monitor and sometimes the TV

I've owned the steam deck and the rog ally z1 extreme before getting this handheld , I didnt have any real problems playing anything on the z1e before upgrading to this , Bit I have noticed better frame rate and alot better battery and the temp is considerably cooler /fans quiter on this compared to the z1e. I able to get around 75 fps on Mk1 over 60 fps on The last of us 1. Havent found anything unplayable, that wasnt my experience on the steam deck . Get this is you want ro be able to actually play all of your pc games and not just a select few from steam like the steamdeck.

Would definitely recommend for gaming on the go. The display is great and runs alot of games that dont demand alot of power. The only downside is the price.

So this handheld is quite powerful for a portable PC and you will not be disappointed. The battery pack lasts for hours and I literally downloaded all of my favorite games with the 2tb version and have plenty of room leftover. With some of the modern titles you may have to turn the graphics settings down a little but that is to be expected, still though, you will not be disappointed with this handhelds power and performance.

This device is what the switch wanted to be and what a steam deck tries to achieve. Its got power, battery life, you name it its got it. Personally have not had any issues playing any game and i play a latge diveristy. No stutter, lag, frame drops, that is of course as long as you set your setting well enough. Plus the 2 terabytes modle is perfect. Meaning you can have more than just CoD installed haha. 10/10 and have recommened to every gamer i know that cant game at home all the time.

I don’t normally write reviews on things but this system has hands down been one of the best decisions I have made in a long time! I have been overly happy with this system. I have always wanted to play some PlayStation games since I mainly use the Xbox. Now I get to play them with little to no issues. I can stream my Xbox to my Ally X so I don’t even have to get up and go to my office to play games. I get more time with my family and still get some game time as well!

Most fun ive had in a long time with a handheld runs fav games on the go. recommend

Its been great. It plays games really well, and the games look great. The battery life js really good, even playing higher end AAA titles. They run pretty smooth, and you can play away from an outlet for hours no matter the game. It feels good in the hands and is comfortable for longer gaming sessions. With the extra ram, you can keep 8gb dedicated to the gpu and still have plenty for things to run fast and smooth with the graphics still being great. I came from the ally extreme, and i believe it was a worthwhile upgrade, i use it far more than i used the old one because i dont feel i need to be by an outlet all the time.

I'd give it a better rating but the fact that windows is on it and needs a lot of personal setup. Its more for those who a willing to put some time to make it what you want. Other similar devices are usually user friendly. I still enjoy the feel, not too heavy, and the overall look. The extended memory slot is nice and having the extra buttons are great for a lot of pc titles. The fact that it can run like a laptop is a good thing for travel, but some might prefer the larger screen of one. Battery life can be great if playing lower straining games but even with bigger titles, it goes for a couple hours. Overall, 4.5/5 Price 3.5/5 Style 4.5/5 Versatility 4.5/5

Great gaming console, great battery life and phenomenal game library available. You can run it on the windows platform out of the box or add Linux either way the available library is endless .

LOVE my Ally! I love playing my Xbox Game Pass while relaxing on the couch. Once you get through the initial set up and get all your apps downloaded its seamless. So far I haven't had any issues playing any games on it besides some minor frame rate drops when playing Control. I didn't download Bazzit or the other OS systems cause it runs just fine without it. I am extremely happy with the ally x and glad I made the purchase. I did op for the 2tb so I never have to worry about storage.

Nowadays we all travel a lot as we want to discover the world around us. Carrying a full size console is out of the question. On top of this, Hotel TVs are more and more locked. Gaming PCs are insanely expensive. So you end up playing basic games on your phone whenever you have spare time at the airport… This handheld device can fit in any backpack and allow you to play real games anywhere. The battery is decent, the screen quality is perfect and with the 2 tb ssd, you can have lots of games with you. That’s really the perfect device for travelers or commuters. ROG Ally X is really an amazing device!

It’s AWSOME! Decent battery life, charges quickly, comfortable controls, quick response time and amazing screen. Able to play final fantasy and ruin scape perfectly!

Its a beast. I Purchased this right when I had a new born and it has been a blessing. I can either jump into Diablo 4, Marvel Rivals or the Xbox cloud thing that lets me continue my Assassins Creed campaigns. At the same time its a full fledge windows PC. I use it on vacations to hook up to hotel tvs and we can watch anything we want. Get a wireless keyboard and mouse. More compact and lighter then a laptop. I Got the 2tb.

Look up how to install Bazzite and it can turn this into the most powerful Steam Deck available, plus you can still dual boot into Windows if you want/need to use GamePass. Battery life (specifically when running Bazzite) is insane. Battery life running Windows 11 is sadly still a joke, but it’s better than the regular ROG Ally.

This thing is seriously incredible. It’s completely replaced my Xbox series x. I’m able to play any game I want on here and no matter what I play it looks great and runs great. Except ark survival ascended. It doesn’t look as good as it does on Xbox of course but I can play it. Just buy it. If you’re thinking about it buy it. Steamos is nice on steam deck but I prefer the windows on here to steamos. This thing is just truly amazing.

When i got the Ally x i expected to get a device similar to my Rog ally original but to my surprise it had a handful of small upgrades,better battery than before, cooler look,and 4 times the amount of storage thats still not full! I hope it lasts long since its a amazing device! Yes ngl a bit on the expensive side but very good to use!

I was skeptical that a handheld could be as good as a desktop or laptop. I am very impressed with this device. Definitely pleased all around.

I was in a long debate about getting the Asus or the Steam. Needless to say im extremely happy i went with the Asus. My one complaints is the screen buttons rarely work. Ill have to press the "go home" or "power/sleep" buttons 6 times over before it actually does what i want. Not a huge issue, just seems like it needs to be calibrated better. The other "issue" is this thing straight dies in 2 hours if not plugged in. Not a problem for me because i only play it hooked up but kind of a disappointment that it cant really be portable
