    Poor Remote Makes Using It a Chore

    We have had a number of Roku devices over the years, this one was to replace a very old one that had expired. I thought I could save $10 and get the Premiere instead of the Premiere+ because the device sits out in the open and pointing the remote at it shouldn't be much of a problem....wow was I wrong. This remote's IR is soooo poor that you have to aim it spot on to the device making it nearly impossible to enter things like passwords or long usernames without a lot of work. I'm very sad at the quality of the remote and device in general. I guess it was cheap, and I got what I paid for (not much). As for its streaming abilities, it seems to do fine. It is fairly close to my wifi router and I have not experienced any trouble with signal or buffering. The interface is plenty fast and crisp...but I could not recommend this version of the device just because of the remote.

    There are multiple options of Roku devices and the packaging does not make it clear that this Premiere device does not recognize or connect to 5G Wi-Fi networks...which are the faster frequency of any Wi-Fi network. I tried calling Roku and the answer they gave me the first time was that it was an issue with my internet provider blocking certain device types. So I called Comcast and they said they are not blocking and told me that the Roku Premiere does not support 5G. So Comcast knew this but the Roku customer service person did not and I had to call Roku again. This time the Roku agent new that the premiere does not support 5G so 3 weeks later I have finally got an answer and returned the premier device because the streaming experience is unacceptable.

    I thought I was upgrading from the Roku I purchased in December after picking up a 4k TV. Although this "Premiere 4k" model of Roku does offer 4k, but it doesn't have the TV power or volume buttons I got on my cheaper HD Roku stick. How can you not have TV power button? After some reading, I guess I could pay another $20 for the Premiere 4k+, but I loose the DirecTV Now button for something called vudu, which i will never use. Became a Roku fan in December and now not a fan in January. How about some consistency?

    Could Not Connect to the Smart TV

    We purchased this item as we were advised by the store staff that it would easily allow us to stream content from applications such as Amazon Prime Video. After over 10 days of attempting to integrate the device, we returned the device to the store and contacted Comcast to install the needed hardware / software.

    It works... that's about all I can say. What a pain to set up. When you are scrolling through the keyboard to enter your login...it would only move ONE square every 8-10 seconds. I have a subscription to Sling. Haven't found any 4K picture yet. Just purchase the basic unit

    Why no tv volume or power??

    This review is for the Roku Premier Streaming Player (not the stick.) I can't believe the even make a model that doesn't control the tv volume or power. Would never have imagined... Now I just need to go exchange it for the stick for $10 more.

    The geek squad suggested this item to use with a tv that can’t have direct cable hook up. However the spectrum app I needed does not work very well at all. Spectrum and Riki are working on the issue and are aware.

    Worked great for the first week. Week two unit started not performing as it should. Streaming dialogue wasn't synced with mouths. Always out of sync now. Pony up the extra cash for the better models

    It was very easy to install and great price but store associate failed to tell me that I have to use the TV remote for volume and turn on/off the TV.

    Went for this instead of fire stick bc of youtube capabilities but it has a sensor that needs to be positioned properly for the remote to work plus youtube and Netflix run slow

    My media room is upstairs and my router is downstairs. I’m sure it’s a good product but the signal was never strong enough to watch anything. Very blurry.
