Switched to Xfinity and purchased the Roku Premiere instead of Xfinity set top box for office TV. The Roku displays the same channels as the set top box, BUT falls quite short when watching recorded shows. When watching live TV, the Roku works great....but when watching recorded shows from the Xfinity DVR, the picture is not always HD and when fast forwarding you cannot see how far you have fast forwarded so you do not know where to stop. I watch a lot of recorded golf and sports in my office so it just didn't work for me. I ended up getting another set top box for the office and moved the Roku to the loft. When streaming Netflix or Prime Video or other Apps, the Roku works great. It just didn't work out as an Xfinity set top box replacement.

Own two Ultras and extremely happy on two different occasions I ask what the Pemier would not have that my Ultra do. I was told no earphones, no voice commands, and not as god for a gamer. None of this bothered me. What they didn’t tell me there was no power button and no volume. I do miss both these features. I feel like I’m always juggling remotes. I would only recommend for someone that is not aware what other Roku’s offer. I did not want to spend a lot of money, but had I known I was missing the power and volume, I possibly would have found a higher price Roku that had these functions (more expensive than the Premier but less than the Ultra). The picture quality appears to be the same.

Bought this primarily to watch DCU in 4K since that app is not widely available. Loading time is a bit longer than Netflix or Prime, and it did start to overheat once in the month that we’ve used it. Not sure why and it hasn’t happened again (so far) since it sits by itself on the top shelf away from other devices so it can “breathe.” It has its uses, but so many tvs and players and consoles have most of the apps available, so make sure you need it before buying.

Works well for the price, but one glaring issue.

Picked this up on sale and it works well enough for what it does. Fairly responsive to remote inputs, with minimal lag. The one issue with this version of Roku is it lacks 5GHz support. This Premiere version only supports 2.4GHz, so this could be an issue if you need or want the faster 5GHz band. I was surprised that this lacked 5GHz support, what with 5GHz is becoming a standard feature now days.

The unit itself works great, but there is a hidden issue with the Roku remote/unit. The remote works via WiFi, and because of this it transmits a signal that will interfere with your wireless access point signal. it actually competes with it. If you are going to purchase this, first plug it into your router then go into the settings and turn off the signal for the remote. if you are unable to plug it in and are using it via WiFi, place it as far away from your access point as you can.

I'm used to Apple TV and have come to the conclusion that nothing will run smoother than an Apple TV. I purchased the Roku for my camper. Attempted to run it off my hotspot (which probably has nothing to do with the product itself) but, 15 minutes after streaming a show, it just stops working. More than likely because of the hotspot but, pretty disappointing. Other than that it's your typical streaming device.

I tried this stick out with YouTube TV. Compared to other streaming devices I have, I just could not get a great quality stream... It was always slightly fuzzy, just not as clear as my other streaming devices. Wireless signal was definitely not the issue. So, not sure if it was just an issue with this one Roku stick, but I returned it. Again, I compared to multiple streaming devices; PS3,PS4, fire sticks, and Chromecast.

The Roku Premiere barely gets a passing grade from me. The lack of 5 GHz wireless severely hurts the score here. While 2.4 GHz is usable in most circumstances, it can be a problem in places like an apartment complex. (Where I live...) Due to the slower connection, there can be artifacts while streaming for minutes at a time sometimes. Other than that, this is your standard affair Roku device.

Not sure if it is my TV or the Roku version but sometimes the display signal is lost or taking a lot of time to adjust the quality and output for the TV. I have selected the less definition but the problem it is there a few times a week yet. I didn't have any problem with the regular and cheaper Roku version.

Regarding this Roku its alright it does its job and does have all the apps one can use. The only downside on this device it wont pick up the 5G from our home. I have checked everything and called Roku but they said doesn't support it yeat. So that would be the only downside.

Purchased this product to hopefully eliminate cable boxes. The product was recommended by the sales staff and also my internet provider. The picture quality is good but its difficult to change channels. Used it just 3 days and disconnected the product. Not a good purchase.

Purchased a Roku Premiere from Best Buy. I needed a little help and had some questions in setting it up, only to find on Roku's website that this product does not qualify for any kind of tech support other than e-mail correspondence. Buyer beware!

Set-up wasn't too difficult but definitely more than plug and play. It took me awhile to figure out basic functions to search and select TV programming through the Infinity portal and is not quick. But it serves the purpose otherwise.

Overall, I think the Roku media player does good job at connecting to most common apps and streaming. I was able to connect to my Spectrum App and stream TV channel. However, i was hoping to display my computer screen but it doesn't work.

This is a good low-cost introduction to Roku, if you have decided it's the service for you. The remote is missing a tv power button as well as a number keyboard, among other things. But it's only $30, so it's a trade-off.

I'm not impressed with this unit too hard to navigate around from channel to channel. My daughter says it's the result of spectrum not working with the unit which is done on purpose my spectrum.

I don’t know if it’s the roku or the internet service but i have a problem with the picture and words not being in sync. Drives us crazy to have to keep clicking out and back in. Very bad when watching the news and some shows.

I bought this as an upgrade from the cheaper Roku. Still very easy to set up, but after a few days it locked-up, had to be reset and re set-up. What a hassle!

The wifi receiver for this product wasn't great, and only being able to receive the 2.4Ghz frequency didn't help as my 5Ghz network is waaaay stronger a signal.

This version of roku doesn’t have a 5G band which can be a problem for streaming 4K. Had issues with buffering and picture quality. Besides that ok for a budget streaming box
