TheTV stays paired but the Roku box needs the power cord unplugged and plugged back in to be remotely controlled ! ???

Every once in a while, the unit stops working: I can hear the sound, but the screen is blank. I know that it’s this new Roku, because the same channels and apps work through the TV itself and through my other Roku product. I’m very disappointed that I have to periodically leave the Roku to use the smart TVs functions. It’s a pain in the neck.
