Also related, but the volume control doesn’t use the HDMI CEC anymore, so you have to point the remote directly at the TV to control volune (where in previous models of Roku you could keep the remote under the blankets and it would still work). It seems like a small thing but it makes a really big difference.

I have to power it off in order to get it working again. I have checked the web and it is obviously been a know issue with no way to fix it.

It’s Roku so user friendly and not flooded w/ adds. Strong WiFi receiver and snappy performance. I wish I could take advantage of the Ethernet port but unfortunately my house is not wired up. I love that this unit can do HDR10+ and DolbyVision. More importantly to me it can pass through Dolby Atmos & dts. Having a rechargeable remote is awesome. I have yet to use the voice controls but a fine feature. I have not yet opened the supplied earbuds but I have tried a pair of Status Audio buds I already had it they sounded surprisingly great wired to the remote. I would have given 5 stars if not for one frustrating omission: Roku doesn’t control my AVR. It does the tv volume and on/off yet no codes for surround receivers (or soundbars to my knowledge). I did have brief success setting it up via HDMI ARC but it failed too soon and have not been able to get that handshake since. My tv and Yamaha Aventage are older so that may be an issue. I got mine mainly for the sound advantages so it’s disappointing that I can’t use the Roku remote to control volume or power to my AVR. I would think that most buying this unit are using an AVR or at least a good soundbar set up so that’s why 4 stars. I wish 4.5 was an option. Really is a great streamer, especially on sale.
