I have owned older Roku's in the past and just about every other streaming device out there. This Roku Ultra is awesome! It is smooth and does not lag at all. I love the fact that there are two extra personal shortcut buttons on the remote for you to program for your favorite apps! It also has a find my remote feature what works great for when the remote grows legs and hides itself in the room somewhere! You can say "Hey Roku, Find Remote" or simply press the button on the side of the streaming device itself and the remote with make an audible noise. Great feature! The picture quality is good and have Dolby Vision and HDR settings. I have this connected to a Hisense 65" U8K TV and it looks awesome! I would recommend!

Best Roku I've had yet. Fast streaming, with HD picture. Improved processing allows better menu navigation and reduces app load times.

Exactly what I needed. Works great and allowed us to “cut the cord” to cable. Better choice than Apple TV. We are an Apple family but the newest Apple TV has too many issues and cost more than the Roku.

I like Roku, and own other models. This model delivers great performance and updated specifications. I recommend it. However, I have not yet tried the voice remote feature, so I cannot evaluate its effectiveness. But the upgraded 4K picture, along with the modern Dolby Vision feature, give the viewer a most excellent viewing experience. And it wasn't that expensive.

Easy to use and works well with 4K TV and surround sound audio system. Setup was easy. Remote is easy to use and is rechargeable. Good features like controlling volume.

No issues with device. I have several Rokus. However, my 2022 Roku Ultra does not come with a rechargeable remote. From my observation only the most recent version of the Roku Ultra (2024) has the rechargeable remote. Even though this is an older Roku Ultra model, the 49.99 price is an excellent price point(IMHO). Also a benefit of this model is that you can connect an external drive(with movies, music, photos, etc.) to the device and play them through the Roku multi media app. In addition for those preferring not tonuse Wifi, it does have an ethernet port. Also this vesrion of the Roku Ultra’s remote does have a 3.5mm audio port for private listening with a compatible headset. However, you can also execute this same capability via bluetooth using the Roku app on your mobile device or tablet.

Already own an older Roku Ultra that we are happy with, so had expectations of this newer model. Excellent picture quality, ease of use, and snappy response are positives, as is the new rechargeable remote that is also able to control the volume of our TV. There are two negatives, however: (1) using the provided HDMI cable, we get an HDCP error upon waking the Roku from its sleep mode (fixable by unplugging and replugging the HDMI cable, which is a nuisance, or keeping the Roku from sleeping), and (2) the digital optical port has been eliminated, which was a convenient way of connecting to an older pre-HDMI audio system. The memory card slot has also been eliminated, but so far haven't noticed a need for memory expansion on this new model.

We've recently cut the cable cord and determined that the Roku device was the best way to stream; it's a more "universal" device, not tied in to (or down by) a tech super-brand. This device does exactly what we need: provide access to the streaming apps with very little to no buffering. (Note: any buffering we experience is due to either under-developed apps or our ISP's notoriously abysmal service.) The device sets up quickly and easily, truly anyone (including my tech-averse partner) can manage it. The layout is clean and easy to navigate, and the screensavers are pretty cute (we love the aquarium screensaver, and the app that allows you to display your own digital images.) We also love the Roku channel app - plenty of shows - old and new - to choose from. There are also some perks this device has that the lower-priced models do not: the option to plug in headphones for private listening, a rechargeable remote (love not throwing batteries away), and the ability to power the TV using the Roku remote (one less remote to wrangle!!). The 4-star review is really more a reflection of the Roku company's decisions that the device itself: why is this the only device that features an ethernet port? We really wanted the Roku streambar (loved the idea of having additional speakers) but, since every room in our house is its own Faraday cage, we needed something we could plug into the router. Also, we truly dislike speaking to machines (no "voice-activated assistants" here) and, although you can turn off that feature, I'm still not convinced that the feature is truly "off." All in all, however, I can absolutely recommend this device to anyone looking for a universal streaming device with a solid internet connection, user-friendly interface, and wide array of streaming apps.

Incredible performance! Instant connectivity with one remote and very quick and easy to launch streaming apps. This version comes with a rechargeable remote. This is important for me as I often use the included headphones which with previous version would wear out the batteries pretty quickly. Also when using the Roku app on my phone, the private listening function connects instantly and links to my EarPods. Highly recommend Roku Ultra to access, organize and launch streaming apps!

This is the best device Roku has. I bought it for my parents who had an older Apple TV and this thing is way easier for them to use and it never lags or gives them an issue. It also has a find remote button which is incredibly helpful for them. If you have an older parent or someone who isn’t technically inclined then this is the device for them.

We were long overdue for a replacement for our older Roku device, and after some research, decided to go with the Roku Ultra 2022. What a world of difference! The Roku setup was very easy. It is much faster than our previous model. Love the voice activated feature on the remote, and the fact that we also have the option to use it with Amazon Alexa. So far, it has worked flawlessly with all our apps, and we are very happy we decided to upgrade to this Roku device.

Most all of our TVs ROKU TVs except for a couple smaller 24" tvs. The one in the kitchen I wanted to be able to stream and decided on this ROKU. It's wonderful. Easy to setup, has rechargeable batteries, and a voice control remote. I haven't tried the earplugs so I can't speak about them. It's well worth the money and I definitely recommend it.

Easy to setup and use. Great for non-techie people. Like the rechargeable battery, which is displayed on the TV when requested, and the 2 buttons that can be programed for your own quick preferences. Also, the voice remote saves a lot of time while searching for a program.

We have had a few Rokus over the years in various rooms in our house, upgrading them as we go. This one is by far our favorite. As always, it’s easy to set up. This one has a few features that the ones we’ve had in the past did not that we are enjoying. You can turn the volume up and down on this remote, so you don’t have to have your tv remote handy too. The programmed buttons on the remote are all ones we watch, Netflix, AppleTv+, Disney+ and Paramont+, but what is great on this one is that it gives you 2 other additional blank buttons that you can program for whatever channels you like, so we chose Hulu & HBOMax. It has a feature where you can plug earbuds into the remote. My husband and I find this handy if one of us can’t sleep and want to watch tv without waking the other up. This remote is also rechargeable with a USB cord, so you don’t have to worry about running out of batteries and realizing you don’t have any in the house. There is also a voice activated feature, where you can talk instead of punching into the remote. This isn’t something I use on an everyday basis, but it really comes in handy when you have to enter logins and passwords for the apps. We all know how tedious punching those in can be. We are really happy with this purchase and look forward to seeing what new features they have next time we want to upgrade.

Easy to setup, super fast, love the headphones, and a great picture too. We are considering getting more for other TV's. Haven't had to use the recharge yet. All I did was plug it in, turn it on, and it did the rest!

This is my 5th Roku. Been using them for YEARS. This one was an addition not a replacement to any current units. The ultra is perfect for 4k streaming. Easy to use. Easy to setup. Remote upgrades are nice compared to my older units.

This was an upgrade from a Roku gen 2 to the Ultra4K. Much smoother quicker performance and the set-up/login to my streaming apps was so much easier with the Ultra 4K! Really enjoy just having one remote now as well.

Just upgraded to the new Roku Ultra 4K/HDR streaming unit. The older unit (~6yrs old) started to overheat. The upgrade seems to have a clearer picture with fewer video artifacts during action scenes. The remote has a better tactile feel on the buttons with a nice crisp response. It is much improved over the older model. I just recharged my remote for the first time after six weeks of normal operation. The rechargeable remote is a very nice improvement over replacing batteries every couple of months. Overall the new unit is a great upgrade.
