Customers are saying

Customers praise the Ultra 2022 for its ease of use, excellent picture quality, and the convenient rechargeable remote with voice control. Many appreciate the device's strong performance and straightforward setup. While some users noted the price point and occasional memory limitations, the positive feedback on usability and picture quality significantly outweighs these concerns.

The best streaming set top box you can buy.

I have had various levels of Roku boxes since they first came out. The Ultra is the top of the line and is the most capable when it comes to processing the video which gives you faster load times and very low lag. The remote works anywhere near and does not need to be pointed at the Roku for it to work. The new voice controls are also a nice addition. The bottom line though is that you spring for the Ultra if you plan on streaming being your main method of watching content on a 4K television. These days many TVs have smart features and those are good but manufacturers sometimes do not update their apps as much as is needed. I have a 10 year old high end 4K Samsung TV that Samsung has not given a proper update since 2018. Since I have a Roku Ultra on it I don't have to worry about the lackadaisical update schedule from Samsung and I can still use my very expensive TV from a decade ago as if it were a new set with all the current apps available to it. Some of the less expensive manufacturers like Hisense make inexpensive smart TV's that have good screens but bad or very slow smart features. Using a Roku Ultra on those allows you to use the decent screen but bypass the slow smart features that Hisense included. I have a 65-inch Hisense that I bought at Best Buy on a Black Friday deal a couple years ago for less than $250. The TV was a great deal, the screen is nice, the processor for the smart features is junk. On that TV, the Roku saves the TV and makes it a good set. I have tried some of the other streaming set top boxes and some of them are not bad but the Roku user interface and available apps set it apart from the others.

Roku Ultra is excellent! Super easy to install and use. The 4K programming with Dolby Vision / Atmos looks and sounds amazing. The remote is rechargeable and includes JBL wired earphones for private listening. I own three of these devices. Highly recommended. John M.

Awesome remote which help eliminate need of TV remote. Old Roku remotes did not have volume control or microphone for speak search or headphone port to listen to shows privately. Quality picture with 4K and remote charges with cable no need for batteries.

In my opinion Roku is the best when it comes to streaming OS. Menus are easy to use and performance is top notch. Remote works well and it is easy to set up. Performance does degrade over time and I usually end up replacing them after a few years. Great value buys when on sale around the holidays.

I have been a fan of Roku for years and this product is a great example of why. I just purchased a second one today. It’s reliable, the picture quality is great and it doesn’t have buffering issues. The best part is this has the headphones with the remote so I can watch TV late at night without bothering my neighbors. This is the first model I’ve purchased with a rechargeable remote and it’s worked great so far. It last much longer than I expected. I’m not sure how long it lasts because I’ve gone as long as a few week before I changed it because I was paranoid. I mostly use it as a remote and have only used the headphones feature for about 4 hrs out of the few week period.

There are a number of things I love about this unit. - The interface is intuitive - The ability to plug in earphones so I can listen to the TV later in the evening without keeping my wife awake is great - being able to as Roku to locate my remote was tested when the remote ended up under the couch? - we have the Internet router situated right near the TV/Roku unit, and so have the Roku unit plugged into the router via the RJ45 cable, and the speed is great, seldom get the spinning pinwheel anymore and when we do it's usually the streaming service, not due to the WiFi signal.

We switched from DirecTV to a streaming service. Started out just using the smart TV menu, but it was glitchy and the remote wasn't the easiest to navigate. A friend recommended Roku. Bought one to try. Loved it! Set up was simple and fast. So convenient being able to have all streaming and app services in one place. Remote is easy to use. Really like the option to listen to audio over earbuds and the surround sound effects are top notch. We liked it so much that we ordered one for all our TVs. Only issue we have had is once in a while the audio goes out when scrolling previews on Netflix. Not sure if it is a Netflix problem or Roku, but it rarely happens and shutting it off and back on fixes it.

I can't say enough good things about this Roku box. It is worth it for the Dolby Atmos Surround sound. That doesn't come on any other Roku. The USB really isn't very functional. Trying to play my home movies is a nightmare. Roku has you browsing files in this horrid list. There's very limited video format support. No VLC support either. I really question why the USB is even included. Never going back to Amazon Fire TV garbage.

We've used the streaming apps on our Sony Bravia TV for years - we're heavy streamers, Youtube TV, Hulu, Netflix, Prime, Paramount +, Apple +, etc, We started having some minor problems with the TV apps, so I tried out an Apple TV, Shield Pro, Chromecast with Google TV, and the Roku Ultra. The Roku Ultra, after testing them all, is simply the smoothest, no issue, easiest and best overall of all the boxes (for us.) Roku has been making streaming boxes for a LONG time and it shows.

This model has an upgraded charging remote with NO REPLACEMENT BATTERIES. The previous 2020 model uses replacement batteries. This also has an updated wifi range finder. I suggest that you make two updated purchases. 1.ReliaMount is Compatible with Roku Ultra it keeps your Roku off a flat service and helps it breathe and not overheat. 2. Get a QUALITY HDMI CABLE. I spent the money and got a Monster Ultra High-Speed 8K 48 Gbps HDMI Cable 6 ft. Worth the money and the picture is AMAZING!

Roko has a much better remote than Apple TV. It is also available now with A lighted key pad and it’s rechargeable so no more changing batteries. I would have given it five stars is it not for: 1-the front LED doesn’t like to shut off which is annoying in the bedroom. I found it’s necessary not to use low power mode, shut it off! than the light will go out after about 15 sec. Also the box itself gets hot and stays that way when it’s off. But it’s really never completely off.

I think this unit at the $69 sale price is the way to go. The Apple TV units are nice, but honestly may be a little overpriced and overhyped. This one has the LAN input if you wanna hard wire your internet into the back of it instead of using WiFi. I did, and appreciate the solid constant dependable high speed connection. The remote also has a side volume button which you can use / program to adjust the volume on either your TV or your sound bar. I easily programmed mine to control my JBL soundbar, and it works flawlessly unlike when I owned an Apple TV which constantly gave me issues when it came to volume control. It's quick. It's snappy. It's affordable!

I love this thing! I use it daily to stream many different platforms. Setup is so simple. I love the features of this model, like the rechargeable remote with a headphone jack. I plug in my noise-canceling Bose headphones for distraction free viewing. I really appreciate the voice command feature on the remote as well. This thing never misunderstands me even when there is heavy background noise, and it makes finding what I want so easy! I high recommend this Roku!

Fast! I’ve bought more than a dozen Roku devices and TVs over the years and believe me when I say this unit is remarkably fast compared to other sticks, noting that I have it direct wired with LAN. Conceals perfectly behind my tv. Works seamlessly with my LG tv for volume controls and picture settings and the rechargeable remote is a great feature. I haven’t used the headphone/remote feature but the Bluetooth / AirPod feature is a great bonus!

Very nice upgrade from the standard 4K Roku sticks. The ease of use of the advanced remote is a nice touch. It has 2 customizable buttons that allow you to program whatever app to them you want to open them quickly. Also there is a remote finder for when you misplace the remote (like my kids do all the time). Definitely would recommend this with your nicer TVs with Dolby Vision and a surround sound setup that supports Dolby Atmos.
