5 Rokus and counting
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Third Ultra 4K unit we own. the last 2 we bought were 2nd generation Ultra 4K units, where the remote charges from the mother unit's USB port saves on batteries. We also own 2 other smaller Rokus and are about to buy 2 more Ultras. Bought these for both my homes and eventually every TV will have one so we can do away with satellite TV service. Picture is excellent could not be happier. Next one is hooking up to my THX Home Theater System.

Most bang for the buck
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This easily replaces the set-top box. It gives you access to live TV in your local market (all it needs is your ZIP Code), and to the largest channel store in the streaming market. The remote charges from the wall (with the included USB cable) and will accept voice commands and even play the sound into earbuds if you value privacy (and don't want to disturb others). Slightly bigger bucks, but lots of bang.

Great streaming device
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I should qualify my response with my lack experience with streaming. This is my first device of this type. I’m trying to figure out what I should suscribe to. It doesn’t go to websites, except those like YouTube. I wanted to go to other websites, but then realized I can connect my laptop to the TV. Slow starter since I did not have internet connectivity in my area that would support streaming. Roku works great and is affordable. I didn’t get the one with speakers, since my old home theater still works fine. I look forward to exploring more channels!

Great picture - Speedy interface!
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works like a champ - very snappy interface. There's obviously a difference in the quality of the picture, but I'm more interested in the ease of use because it isn't under-serviced when it comes to system resources. The menus are very nimble compared to the Roku stick or most "in television" Roku instances. Worth the money just for that!

Due for an Upgrade!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent device! I'd had an old Roku Premiere but decided it was time to upgrade a bit. The old Roku remote did not have a power off button for the TV or voice control so those were attractions on the Ultra. I also liked the idea of a rechargeable battery. The box itself also has some nice upgrades, like Dolby, and I figured after about five years on the Premiere, I could spring for the newer model and gain some functionality. It works great and streams my shows and movies in sharp 4K resolution.

GO and Get Roku Ultra 4K :-)
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this Roku Ultra. I’ve had Firesticks for years using them in multiple rooms and homes. I’m now a Super Roku fan. Roku device offers free live tv with multiple channels to select from movies, news, kids etc. If you’re reading this review and debating to get a Roku or a different device, look no further and get this Roku. This model had a rechargeable remote and is super smart and you can control it by voice by saying “hey Roku”.

Roku Ultra, great unit, love it.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this Roku Ultra, especially the rechargeable remote, no more batteries to replace. All the features work well. Great 4K rendering, sound is awesome, and easy to set up. I found on Amazon a holder that let's you mount the device to the back of your TV so it's out of the way. It's called TotalMount for Roku Ultra. I didn't notice if BestBuy carried it or not. Check it out if you get this device. I highly recommend the Roku Ultra and TotalMount.

A Bit of a Shaky Start, But Improving
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our household has step-stoned from the Roku 3 to the Roku Ultra (4670X) and now to the newest version, the Roku Ultra (4802R). We like the Roku interface, and it remains largely unchanged, and it now includes a nice feature: whereas previous versions were "always on", you now have an option for the device to power off after 20 minutes of inactivity. This newest version of the Ultra has a new chipset, and it is much faster when rebooting; while this is an improvement, it is unfortunate that this unit needs to be restarted more often than its older relative, mainly due to apps such as Shudder and Hulu "hanging up" after seeming to launch normally. It should be noted that this behavior occurred mainly just after the initial setup, and with updates and a few settings changes, the issue has improved considerably over time. One setting-related issue: initially, our AV receiver would only see the audio signal from the Ultra as "Stereo", no matter what sound decoding we selected. It turns out this Ultra processes audio differently than its predecessor. Under "Settings > Audio > Digital Output Format", select "Passthrough", so the signal doesn't get processed by the Roku. Despite these glitches, I would still recommend the new Ultra due to its familiar and streamlined UI and great performance.

ROKU ULTRA!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Roku Ultra does it's job. I replaced a Roku Streaming Stick that had a remote that went through batteries weekly. The RU remote is rechargeable, so I save money in the long run. I also like the feature on the base to find the remote. I recommend this upgrade.

Performs much better than a few year-old Smart TV.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought one of these to upgrade my few year-old 65" LG 4K TV. The TV was lagging very badly on all my common apps like Plex, Netflix/Amazon, and YouTube, many times deciding it needed to restart mid-stream, very annoying. Nothing seemed to be a fix for the TV, no firmware updates or resetting/reloading the apps could fix it. I think it was just low performing and low memory by today's standards. After reading and watching a few reviews I decided to go with the Ultra 2022 unit and now it's like I have a new TV. It's very fast/snappy and brings new life to an older TV along with more channels to choose from. I also have two Roku imbedded TVs in other rooms of the house so I had an idea of what they offered already and decided to go this route over the Amazon Fire unit. My mother has a 10 year-old Samsung 46" Smart-TV that isn't so smart anymore. There are no updates from Samsung and nothing newer, including Netflix is available to put on it. It still has a great picture though, so I'll upgrade her TV by adding a Roku unit to it as well.

The Best you can buy
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Roku Ultra for my living room to up grade from my old Roku Ultra. It’s super fast and I enjoy the new remote because I do not have to install batteries anymore. I installed my old one in my son’s room and it still works very good. Got on sale and I am very happy with my purchase.

Best roku device I've bought.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had other roku streaming devices and this one blows all of them out of the water. The picture it provides is amazing. The hands free comes in very handy and the find my remote feature has saved me many times as my kids lose the remote every 3 seconds. Also being able to charge the remote instead of having to but batteries is a great feature in my book as well

Awesome streaming box!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my Roku, and how I can have all of my streaming platforms in one place. I get to watch and rent movies all in 4k with Dolby Atmos with my premium soundbar that has awesome sound quality. I get to rock the house watching movies with theater quality sound. I like the live TV option too. Definitely recommend this Roku box.

Terrific
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Roku should be totally unnecessary for me, but it isn't, and it is simply, terrifically good at doing what it does. We have Comcast's X1 DVR, which works as a gateway to various streaming services. It is also, as is typical with Comcast devices, weirdly poor tech. Like their prior DVR, the the X1's hard drive is too small for the modern HD world, and the device is irritatingly slow and cumbersome when trying to do anything other than watch live TV. Happily for us, we have a Roku Ultra. It is just what I'd expect it to be -- quickly responsive in letting us watch streaming services. Although Comcast provides us with fast Internet (~950mbps), we live in a world with so much EMI (electromagnetic interference) I just can't feel confident that we're taking advantage of our HD home entertainment that depends on it. I love having an ethernet cable plugged into our Roku Ultra, knowing we're getting that super fast, super clear Internet connection directly to our streaming device. I like redundant systems, so I like that our Roku also works over WiFi, so if there's a problem with our Ethernet (very rare, but not impossible) we can just switch the Roku over to WiFi with no interruption in entertainment. As a Comcast customer we also can use the Comcast streaming app (perpetually called beta) on the Roku, so when then DVR crashes (really, it's a computer with a hard drive, so of course it will eventually crash), we can use the Roku to get most of the Comcast content we get through the DVR. I'm almost terrifically happy with the Roku Voice Remote Pro that came with the Roku. Since our system uses a monitor and a receiver, Roku's remote leaves us juggling remotes to turn the system on/off, and control volume. The voice recognition is good, and the Roku then searches for what is requested among our streaming services. A feature I much appreciate is the Roku remote's standard headphone socket, so I can easily mute our system when watching something loud without bothering everyone else in the house. This is much easier than plugging in the cable to the front of the receiver having it lying on the floor between the receiver and our recliner. Roku's remote uses USB charging (micro plug, not USB C) instead of AA batteries. Yes, this reduces recycling of toxic batteries, but you can tell from holding the light weght that Roku's remote has only a small rechargeable battery. Of course, after watching TV, we don't want to walk all the way over to the entertainment center (+/- 7' !) to plug in the remote every time, and there's no handy USB charger by the recliner, so having a dead remote happens. There's a warning that comes on the screen, but somehow is easy to miss while watching something interesting enough to watch. A dead remote isn't a catastrophe, because I just keep one of those small USB battery backups plugged into the USB port on the Roku, so we can run the Roku on that while it is recharging. The Roku phone app works well, and provides a convenient alternative to using the remote. Also, the phone app gives me access to the wireless Bluetooth headphones that my socketless cellphone uses. I also like that the Roku powers down, when not in use, except for the tiny amount needed so it can turn back on when you press any button on the remote. Saving a little bit of electricity is good.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works perfectly for our needs. We have a 4kvtv, wanted easier access to streaming than what is built into TV (Samsung) as well as direct access to The Chosen streaming thru the roku app.
