Eliminated buffering for 2018 samsung TV with crappy internet service

Did not seem to handle TV setup changes well. Had to disconnect HDMI cable and restart Roko to resolve. Does not work smoothly with YouTube segment auto start.

Its a great product and probably works well for most people and most applications. However if you are conecting this directly to your AV reciever there is something to consider first. This will only work if you turn off your HDMI control on the reciever, if so equipped. Otherwise once the ROKU goes into sleep mode, and you turn it back on, the reciever comes up with a “no decoder detected “ message and you get no sound from anything. You will need to re-set the receiver to factory settings, and then restore all settings you made previously. And then be sure to turn off the HDMI CONTROL or you will have repeat this sequence. I like my HDMI Control so I switched to an Apple TV. No issues there.

Excellent purchase. Newest version seems to be a little faster or smoother. Love every new version that Roku produces.

Does it's job. Far better than built in TV streaming.

Love my Roku. It is easy to hook up and use. You can get as many channels as satellite or cable for less.

Silky smooth responsiveness (over wifi) and awesome remote. Only regret is not switching to Roku earlier!

We have many Roku devices in our house…for every TV we have a Roku device connected to it. This Roku device would be better if it wasn’t for the remote that you have to recharge. I purchased 2 Roku devices, out of the 2, both remotes are having issues. 1 remote would not charge and the other remote is having an issue with controlling the TV. If we didn’t have the remote issues I would rate this product 5 star. I did contact Roku about the remote that would not charge and they sent me another remote, but with the other remote acting up I have no confidence in the rechargeable remotes. I wish Roku would go back to the replaceable battery remotes.

It works great, but when it goes into sleep mode it will not wake back up. I have to unplug it to get it to turn back on. so I turned the sleep mode off. I really wish I could use the sleep mode. this was one of my complaints about the earlier models.

Nice system. Great for my older TV. This is a good option when you don't have a Smart TV.

I'm a long-time Roku fan and I bought this to upgrade my 2019 Ultra, which unfortunately started freezing and resetting itself a few weeks ago. Out of the box, sound was cutting out when streaming from any channel (Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, Disney, etc). I tried multiple cables, but the problem persisted. In addition I was unable to stream Disney+ reliably. Intermittently I would get low quality video at 2.5mbps when my internet connection was fine, pauses every 30 seconds, and "content not available in your region errors". The previous Ultra was fine except for the occasional freeze and reset. I replaced this with an Apple TV 4K and it streamed the same movie at 17mbps, no freezing, and none of the other problems.

I usually do not write reviews but I felt I should save someone a big headache. I have always used Roku and bought this device because of the ability to use my headphones through the remote which works great. The downside is this device literally crashes hourly on so many apps. Philo, Frndly TV for example. It will just go black and reset after trying to access a channel. Sound goes out on channels on prime tv and you will switch to a new show and your screen is black with the show in the corner in a small square. Reset the device and all this is fixed. Give it about 1 hour and its doing the same. I am really let down with this device, and I can't even take it back. Maybe its the apps that are the issue, but looks like Roku could fix this. I even did a factory reset on this device and still had the same issues. HBO max would not even open sometimes. I really hope Roku fixes this. As for your purchase, I would deeply heed my warning. Take it back the moment you have issues, or you will regret it.
