The Roku Ultra media player is very well designed. It can access huge numbers of tv programs from a variety of services. The Roku Ultra was very easy to set up, and very easy to add channels to. I had CBS All Access, You Tube, Amazon Prime Video, TNT, USA Network, Brit Box, Roku Channel, and 40 other services all working perfectly on the device within minutes of connecting it. The device connected to my internet network very quickly and loads programs very quickly. I am pleased with the menus, ease of operation, and performance.

I own a TIVO and was feeling left out when it came to all the channels that I should have access to via streaming so I bought the Roku! The options for streaming channels is the largest out there and the remote control and settings are very easy to use and straight forward. The remote even allows you to plug headphones in and mute the tv while still listening via the headphones! While current streaming options like Peacock aren't currently on there, it's only a matter of time as Roku is the platform that everybody is on.

When I decided to cut the cord I tried Roku Ultra on the recommendation of my Niece. It was very easy to set up. It recognized that I had a HD tv. Connected it to my router/wi-fi quickly. Needed to sign up with Roku -- it can be cancelled- and was able to use the voice button to look up shows and other streaming services. Very, very easy to use. The remote doesn't have to be directly lined up with the Roku receiver.. My Roku is behind my tv and there are not any communication issues.

Second Roku device and even better than the first!

We already had a Roku premium, which was working great, and we would have been satisfied with just the one. However, our brand new smart TV did not provide access to one of the streaming services we subscribed to, so we decided to add another Roku. This time, we went with the Ultra, and the added features are well worthwhile. All functionality on this one is a bit quicker than the previous model, and there is a slot for a micro-SD card for storage of additional channels. The only issue we have encountered is a difficulty in getting the device to stream anything other than PCM sound to our receiver. Even after setting it to Bitstream/DTS (as opposed to "Auto"), the audio feed is still PCM. Research tells me this is a firmware issue that was introduced a few months ago, and just hasn't been rectified yet. So, a fix will come eventually, and it is more of an annoyance than an actual problem. Everything else is outstanding!

Great Choice For Main Streaming TV

Some streaming services are not available on Roku (at present)--HBO Max and Peacock come to mind--but there is no shortage of content available for free or premium streaming service apps preloaded. Pair it with a Mohu Airwave to get broadcast TV with a channel guide and cut cable. Do make sure that you have fast Internet and good WiFi. I would however only recommend this model for your main household TV--for instance in bedrooms, this is probably more device than you'll need.

    Awesome Roku Upgrade!

I upgraded from a Roku 3! I see a lot of benefits from my upgrade! The greatest of them is a big speed boost! The CPU in this bad boy is much better and faster. The increased storage means I also never have caching issues like I used to. I love the new remote, and the ability to control my TV with it and to use voice commands. My only complaint is that the quick buttons are not re-programmable. The buttons are Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and Sling. We don't have Sling, so that button is basically a waste to us! I wish that we could re-program it to a service we use. Or even better, just give us 6 programmable buttons instead of 2 programmable and 4 static. Then we can use them all for whatever we want. Still, even with this complaint I'm very happy with the device and would highly recommend it!

For some reason, my Roku remotes die unnatural deaths. This is the third one I've had in two years and this is the best by far. Very easy to set up (use your mobile device instead of their virtual keyboard monstrosity.) You do need an HDMI cable for this so have one on hand. The old ones just plugged into the HDMI port but this one needs the cable. You need a wifi connection as well and once you're set-up, all will be well. The picture is clear, the streaming is top-notch. This was an excellent buy.

Review of Roku - Ultra 4K Streaming Media Player with JBL Headphones and Enhanced Voice Remote - Black Model: 4670R, SKU: 6367483. (1) Highly recommended. Very easy set up/installation. (2) Remote is incredibly fast/responsive. (3) Way better than the Roku - Streaming Stick with Voice Remote with TV Power and Volume - Black Model: 3800R, SKU: 5947832 priced at $49.99. Simply said, go out and spend the extra $50 for the 4K Ultra Roku you wont ever regret it.

I love the headphones and the ability to watch a show with them as not to wake my wife from her beauty sleep or if she starts yelling, i just put the headphones in and binge watch the latest episode of the goldbergs. Also no more having to use one remote to turn on the tv and one for the roku. Just power on the tv and roku with the roku remote. Saves time while trying to netflix and chill...that's still a thing right?! Anyway, this system is well worth whatever the price is now.

    Best Overall Media Player

The Roku Ultra is, in my opinion, the best performing overall media player out there. It plays in 4K, it's fast, and very easy to use. I have no gripes with it. I use Sling TV and many other apps with no lag. If you are not an Apple TV or Firestick loyalist it's a great pick. Go with the Roku Ultra if you are using it to cut cable with YouTube TV or Sling TV, ECT. If you are adding a Roku for supplemental TV purposes, feel free to consider a step down unit.

This thing rocks. Love the fact I can plug headphones into the remote for late watching without disturbing family members. I can also plug in a usb drive or flash to view pictures or movies on the big screen. Even better, you can stream all types of services like Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+, etc. Wish it were slightly cheaper, but for the price you do get a lot in a single device and it works pretty flawlessly. Would definitely recommend it.

I bought this on a whim. Thought it would be a good upgrade for my smart TV that can't keep up anymore. It was easy to hook up and setup. The headphones that connect to the remote are amazing. There is a nice mute feature. When you plug in the headphones. It mutes the TV. Watching any show is easy. I can use the voice navi and it'll tell me where I can watch or listen to what I asked for. Tons of free apps and streaming services.

I have owned these for 6-months. I bought 3 units to replace 2 older model Rokus and one for an additional TV. Full disclosure: I have owned other Roku devices since 2011-2012 time frame. I have tried all but one of their models. I have also bought and returned the Firestick and other competitors when it was time to upgrade or add. I caught this Roku Ultra at a great deal ($49.99 during Xmas sales) and am glad I did. I recommend them. Why 4 stars instead of 5? Here's why... I am beyond irritated with Roku for implementing the HDCP nonsense. I have had quite a few issues with the erroring (falsely I might add) and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the trigger. NO loose or low-quality HDMI cables, NO illegal content or streaming, NOTHING that should trigger this error. I replaced my Mercedes-level-HDMI cables with Bentley level HDMI cables in order to avoid this erratic erroring. AND it still occasionally requires a 90's/OO's-styled-Microsoft-Windows-Reboot-Solution for the Roku to clear it. No answer from ROKU with regard to ACTUAL cause such that it can be resolved. Just the kick the can down the road nonsense. DRIVES ME NUTS!!! Come on Roku... you are better than this. Pin in that. That out of the way.... The interface is significantly faster and more responsive than older model units. I LOVE their search feature by title, artist, etc. that lets you see which service offers the option and at which prices. It lets you identify free or lower cost options for rentals from a-la-carte services that are cheaper than renting from membership services like Amazon or Netflix for the same title. LOVE that I can control the VOLUME, MUTE and PAUSE functions for a TV, even with a sound system attached, via the ROKU remote rather than needing more than one remote. Not true for earlier Roku models. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Observation: * They get warm when they are left plugged in whereas the older units didn't do that. Heat is the enemy of electronics in terms of longevity so I unplug them when they are not in use.

The quality of this product is very good. It is fast and had good sound and picture quality. I like Roku's because of the easy operation and much nicer than the built in Smart TV channels. Lot's of channels to chose from and you can arrange them in order where you like them. The earbuds have good quality sound and are nice if you need privacy while watching or listening. It turns off while not in use and had a screen saver and your choice of backgrounds.

HANDS DOWN, in my opinion, this is the best streaming media player option. We have tried all other streaming media players and now 3 Rokus on 3 separate TVs... have never had an issue in any respect. Easy to install. Easy to navigate. Remote is the easiest to operate too. TOTALLY RECOMMEND! ( check out the sound bar or the stream bar for enhanced audio too... very pleased with these devices as well)

The worst thing about the Roku is that it is really easy to lose the remote. With the ultra there is no issue with that. The Ultra is just like the other Roku but it has that feature and the fantastic earphones that come with it. My one issue is that the earphones eat battery fairly quickly. Otherwise, I'm very happy that I paid the extra money.

Recently "cut the cord" and I'm very pleased with this 2019 version. A hardwired Gigabit connection means absolutely no buffering at all. Being able to listen to the TV with wireless buds / headphones via Bluetooth is awesome. The remote doesn't have every feature I'm used to (like last channel or a guide), but that's alright. Highly recommend!
