These seem to suffer from the issue's that most BT TWS headsets suffer with. Connection strength. Could be my head but these do pass the Gym test. Granted there is a lot of interference in the gym with BT signals and metal galore. They would not stay connected at the gym so that kind of defeats the purpose for me. They sounds pretty good when they stay connected. Can't recommend them.

True Wireless Performance in a Great Design

The Rowkin - Surge is a phenomenal product. I was unfamiliar with this brand and as a result, I had no real predisposition of what to expect in this product. What I can say in preface is that his company is dead serious about designing & producing a high quality - high performance product.
Setup was a breeze and being a truly 'wireless' design, the intermediate connection between the left & right modules was quick and efficient. Pairing with my android mobile device was also straightforward & problem free.
Compared to another wireless (connection mode) ear bud system I recently reviewed, the Rowkin - Surge has an obvious high quality standard of fidelity and corresponding gain. I was shocked how well these performed on the audio quality side of things compared to a rather expensive set of wired earbuds I own & use for traveling.
Truly remarkable. And the noise floor on these Rowkins is astonishingly low. Again, I was truly shocked. Bass response was present & accounted for without being too booming or muddied. Treble was clear, without resonance and the mid-tones were well positioned in the middle of the audio spectrum without sounding lost or masked. I don't think I've ever experienced this level of fidelity in a BT headset, in ear or otherwise.
On the comfort & fit side of things. These modules have ear piece that don't go into the curvatures of the ear but instead have fully articulating ear pieces that are easy to adapt to the shape of your head & ears - for hours of super comfortable use. Another example of exemplary attention to design from Rowkin.
The system comes with small & large ear pieces, a case that contains a battery pack so you can charge these little beasts on-the-go and a handy place to keep them together - safe & protected.
Pros:
Comfortable, articulating behind-the-ear / head armatures.
Phenomenal gain, clarity and overall audio fidelity.
Well designed case with internal battery pack and charging couplings.
Quick and simple BT pairing functionality.
Did I mention how damned comfortable these are?
Cons:
All I can really think of is the lack of detailed instructions in the box.
Highly recommended.
These are truly outstanding all-the-way-around and truly 'wireless'.

The bluetooth range on this product is not great but it is adequate. They are also very comfortable and the battery lasts for quite awhile. They connected easily to my iPhone, as well. The sound is pretty good. The one major problem I had with this product is that if my phone was in my back pocket this product would easily cause my music on my iPhone to stop playing for some reason. However, this only happened when I was outside.

The earpiece design is really nice and comfortable. The sound is good, not great.
There is no app to accompany the headphones. You will need a 3rd party app to do any equalizer type functions.
Pairing is...odd. You pair the "primary" earpiece, a.k.a. the right one, to the phone. Then you power on and pair the left earpiece. That is just the initial configuration.
The case is large, but well designed. Another odd choice, for the price of the case, if you need a spare, there is no wireless charging. You have to connect both earpieces to two micro-usb cables inside the case. It is weird using cables to charge truly wireless headphones.
The best comparison is it feels like you have two BT earpieces like the old style where you bought one for phone calls. Interestingly, if you answer a call, only the right earpiece is usable.
Battery life feels like it should be better based on the size of the earpieces. Getting 3-5 hours just seems short for the size of these. But you do get a full charge in an hour. I don't think it is a fast charge technology just a small battery.
Overall, the quality is good. The design is solid. The sound is acceptable. They are really comfortable. But there are just too many odd choices to recommend at the listed price. And the battery life feels like it should be longer.
Like I said, I like them. BUT some of the design choices are just not right for something that feels so premium.

Nice headphones - great for active wear

I like these headphones because they give you the convenience of a wireless option, but having the wrap around the ear just makes them more secure when one does more vigorous activities. I have other completely wireless earbuds that do not have the wrap piece around the ear and I worry that they're going to fall out and I'm going to be left with one earbud. Thus, I'm happy to have this style where I can exercise, work in the yard and do housework without having to deal with earbuds falling out or coming loose constantly.
Another nice feature is the controls are very accessible and well designed for easy touch and control. I had to go on rowkin.com to obtain the quick set-up instructions for pairing, but once that was done it is very intuitive. I'm kind of surprised they don't just include a quick start-up guide in the box, but I suppose it gives one the chance to check out other information on their website.
The audio quality is very good and I have experienced no connection issues with my Iphone. The headphones fit easily in the case and charge quickly. Charges are good for five hours of music/talk time. The portable case is a nice quality and I think it will be quite durable. Each earbud can be charged individually or charged in the case.

Well, I'm just going to jump right in and say it. These headphones sounds amazing...when they connect properly. I am using an iPhone 8 Plus / Samsung Galaxy S8 and both just won't connect right. I am having the hardest time having these two individually headphones to pair. Big disappointment right from the jump. Its a shame because when they work they sound great with nice punchy bass. While they are not stylish by any means and does stick out from the ear a bit they would have been a nice pair of daily headphones from any user.
Rowkin's Surge Charge Bluetooth headphones could have been much more but they fall flat over the most basic problem. Giving this two stars because I know they could provide a better user experience with this if this company continues to research. So disappointed with so much potential.

Quick set up guide and owner’s manual is online, nothing in the box that it came in.
Pretty straight foward to get going.
It found my OG Pixel with no problems.
Listened to Google Play Music free radio station as I always do.
Sound quality just fine. So is the fit.
Love the hook that goes over each ear.
Probably won’t lose any of these earbuds.
Good !
If U use Siri or the Google Assistant, this is the way to go.
Google Assistant worked as intended just so U know. But still have to use phone first to hear any responses.
Assuming U like to use a voice assistant, these earbuds are a great option.
Sorry don’t have more to add.
Hope U have many enjoyable hours using it :-)
I know I will.

Love that these are independent and truly wireless. I even like the case. It is both storage and a charger. Each piece plugs in to the case separately which I actually find pretty clever. And it protects them while not being used. They fit pretty good and the sounds is really good. I was pretty impressed.

At first glance, the Rowkin Surge headphones are oddly bulky in appearance compared to many other ‘wireless’ buds I’ve seen. Inside the box is a link that takes you to the tutorial on how to pair your buds. You only connect one pod to your phone and the other connects to the connected bud on its own; this is on account of the charging port being located on the inner portion of each bud. If you’re looking for a pair of pods to listen to music throughout the day, these are not for you. The box says you can get a full charge in an hour, but it actually takes about an hour and a half, to an hour and forty five minutes, for the pods to charge completely. Normally I wouldn’t mind something like that, as I charge all of my electronics as I sleep, though the pods only last about five hours as described on the package. The package says you get about an hour for each ten minutes you charge the pods, that is incorrect. If you only charge the pods for ten minutes you only get about a half hour of playback time.
The sound quality on its own is above average, however while in a call of the volume exceeds about 60% (if you turn your phone volume up over this limit) the sound becomes scratchy and hurts ones ears. Well, ear singular considering while in a call only one pod remains connected to your phone, the other remains on but does not play any sounds from the call. You may want to turn the idle pod off, because it drains the battery and plays a beeping noise in the active pod when the idle one is low battery. If you walk away from your phone and step out of its rather short range your audio becomes glitchy and does not correct itself until you disconnect and reconnect them again. Sound quality while simply listening to music is nice, though you have to push the pods deeper into your ear in order to experience more bass. They’re also not as noise cancelling as one would expect; and experience a delay when adjusting volume with the pods themselves and with your phone. I would not suggest turning the pods above 60%, as they are quite loud initially. Overall a nice find, though some improvements would be beneficial.
Overall:
•Good sound in both call and music.
•Awkward charge pod.
•Call only goes to one ear.
•Easy pairing, tutorial included online.
If updates help the flaws, I would definitely buy again!

I've never heard of this brand before, so it was a bit curious how these would shape up for what they were designed to do.
The box and packaging was really nice. I am always impressed with a company that takes time to package a product so that it isn't like breaking into Fort Knox to open, but to provide a decent presentation. This was both a nice presentation, and an easy to open package.
These are over the ear, ear buds. They fit over the ear, and get inserted into your ears. Let me say, I like this design for any activity things because they won't fall off or out. Once inserted, it does an amazing job of filtering out the noises of the world around you; if doing outdoor activities, you might not hear a car horn or siren, so please use with caution.
Provided by Rowkin are different sized ear canal adapters, so everyone can enjoy them regardless of their ear size. I know this is important for people to get a good listening experience.
I watched a short youtube video on how to pair them, which was easy, and then I was listening in a minute or so. You'll get a very rich and decent sound from these. Not knowing the brand, I was curious. After listening, I'm very impressed. I didn't find an app to adjust the sound, but to be honest, they sound good "as is" without any adjustments.
The sound reminds me of listening to a set of speakers in front of me, not through headphones/earbuds. That is a huge thing and I've never experienced this before; I didn't know this was even possible, but it is.
As for using them as a phone headset, I'm going to say they sound a tinny to the person you are calling, plus the are a bit weak - probably because they are so far away from your mouth.
These buds come with a charging case that let you charge them if you run out of juice and aren't near two chargers - remember, each bud needs to be charged separately. The charging case has a battery inside, with a battery level indicator, but also two micro usb cables with connectors, so you can charge both in the included case, at the same time. I got over the advertised 5 hour time from a full charge, listening to music and a few phone calls.
If there is any annoyance to speak of, it is that each bud needs to have the dust cover opened, and plugged in, which is time consuming. But the reason for this is any exposed charging connectors would not be good for long term exposure to moisture. And these are designed to be sports related (or any outside activities).
There is alot to like about these and you may want to give them a try. I like this style for outside activity related things. But more importantly the sound of these was unlike anything I've heard before.
Best Buy has a decent return policy, so if you don't like them you can return them. If you want something that won't fall out of your ear, have a decent charge, and include a charging case, these might be for you.

The Rowkin Surge headphones were easy to set up after watching a short video. The sound is great! They are relatively comfortable and seem to stay in well even with a lot of movement. They've synced seamlessly each time I've turned them on. Easy to charge them up with travel case.

The earbuds were very easy to set up and had them connected to my phone in a couple of minutes. They sound great. You can still hear what's going on around you and listen to music at the same time. The ear fit is good and comfortable. I have had them in for a couple of hours without any discomfort.

This is the fourth pair of "wireless" headphones I've tried, but the first that is truly just an ear piece. I needed a pair for when I run, and other types I've tried have had collars that bounce on my neck and cause the ear pieces to come out and bounce annoyingly on my neck. These are great - they stay put even through sweat and movement, and actually sound pretty good! The charging case is a plus and helps keep track of them. Multiple ear piece sizes help for a custom fit. Definitely a good purchase for the price. The buttons on the ear pieces take a few minutes to get used to the first few times but are otherwise easy to figure out.

These have a very nice sound to them. The "hook" on the earbuds is very flexible and adjustable so you can get them to fit over and around your ears. Battery life is good. It's been almost five hours since the first charge, and their still going as I write this. A couple things keep these from being 5*. One being they are very bulky. They remind me of early 2000's Bluetooth earpieces. My wife has already made a few jokes about them looking like that. But these earbuds stay put no matter what I'm doing. I never had to re-adjust them. Another issue is fatigue. These put pressure on the inside part of my ear, so after about an hour of having them on, they start to hurt a little bit. I could be just my ear, but there's only one way I have have them one with the largest tips to get them to seal in my ear. Overall, I like them, even if they are bulky.

Great Bass But The Design Falls Short

Rowkin is a relative newcomer to the headphone game, but they have done some nice work, especially when it comes to creating a deep sound in a small package.
"Bass forward" is how I'd describe the Rowkin Surge earbuds. The bass is surprisingly strong for such a small package. I really appreciate the heavy sound with a workout mix style of music. Not coincidentally, these headphones are designed first and foremost for exercise.
The mids are pretty good, too; but the highs are a bit on the weak side. The highs are bad, but it's very clear Rowkin put their emphasis on strong bass.
The Surge design includes semi-flexible ear glides or hooks that loop over the top of your ear. This keeps them securely in your ears regardless of your level of activity. The hooks are pretty comfrotable. The tips of the Surge were not as comfortable, but they were ok.
Rowkin is clearly not competing in the premium earbud world at this point, based on design and fit options. But they are functional and decent.
The more annoying thing is that this particular model - the Surge Charge - comes with a bulky charging case that the earbuds were not initially designed to use. By that, I mean you actually have small micro-USB cables inside the case that you have to plug each earbud into individually for them to charge while inside the case. This is an extremely poor design. It makes regular use of the earbuds a lot more cumbersom. You have to plug in each earbud and the case to charge everything, and then you have to unplug each earbud to use it.
Another annoying byproduct of this design is that you have power on each earbud seperatly - no auto-on feature like most other earbuds.
To it's credit, though, the case will charge the earbuds up to five times. Most cases only charge 3 times. But most cases are also less than half as large as this one.
In terms of rich bass, these are strong earbuds. But if design and ease-of-use are important to you, I'd look elsewhere.
