I plugged in the cords to my computer and hooked up the adapter, started the software and it was started. Walk away and come back when it had run through the tape.

I bought this device to transfer camera video to DVD. Requires some additional time and effort to get the required software. It does convert the VHS format to digital, so the product does what I bought it to do.

This was recommended to me by Geek Squad and it does not work. A second Geek Squad professional didn’t even know they still existed. He recommended Elgato video capture. After Roxio installation, it caused all sorts of problems, including installing drivers that compromised Internet security. Returned.

No drivers available for latest windows version 10. Would only recognize audio input.

So the included cable worked great after I got everything installed but you cannot download the software if you dont have a disk drive. I had to download on another CPU and transfer to a thumb drive, then install on the new CPU. The editing portion is not that great but to play a VHS tape and transfer to a CPU of DVD does work. This is the only option I found out there.

Super easy to use. Did exactly as it said it would. Just to note - you have to download the software - and the software key is inside the package.

I planned to transfer a huge vhs collection to a hard drive and the process is brutal. I wanted software that would rip the vhs and auto divide into a DVD format. This fell way below my expectations. It just records the video in real time meaning the full length of the video... At this rate I may complete the project in a few months. I've worked with better software in highschool using the dazzler. Overall just dissatisfied.

Exactly what I was looking for for a long time! A bit tricky to set up the first time, but if you just stay with it it’s easy.

The device and software were easy to install and works well with just a few random glitches. I do wish it came with some type of instructions or at least tips for how to accomplish the most common tasks.

Cropped the picture when converting a Hi8 video. Tried with provided software and Multiple others. All showed the captured picture was being cropped. Close ups would come out showing the heads of the people in my videos were cut off.

My favorite part is being able to connect a dvd player through the converter. It allowed me to finally back-up old home videos to my computer.

We bought this and were able to converts VHS tapes, 8 mm tapes and cassette tapes to digital files that we then saved on our computer and flash drives. Easy to use!

I came into possession of a pile of old home videos. Armed with a VCR and this handy dongle, I have been digitizing them very easily. The software gets the job done.
