Needed a high 8 recorder so I didn't use the item.

I installed this on Windows 10 and it worked the first time (uses a product key for the software), but the RECORD button disappeared after restarting the program and it never came back. Even when it sort of worked, there were no settings (bitrate, format, etc.) and it would show NO SIGNAL a lot on the most minor VHS distortion so I couldn't even tell if it was recording anything or not. I tried it on another Windows 10 PC which had a clean load and same problems so back it went. I ended up getting Elgato Video Capture USB device somewhere else (no product key needed for the software download) and it worked, although their software also doesn't let you adjust the bitrate and the compression was so low that I could see degradation even on an old VHS tape! I used the Elgato to play the video fullscreen then used Nvidia's GeForce Experience (if you have a recent Nvidia video card, you already have it built in!!!) to record the screen at 720p and later downsampled it with Handbrake. Ugh.

I was able to convert all my VHS videos to digital format with a great ease. The support from manufacturer Corel also was excellent. It gave me options to make DVD or save as files on PC.

Doesn’t work as expected. Would have been nice if it was able to save a decent copy of my vhs tapes

Wanting to transfer my family videos from tape to disc, I spent hours trying to figure out how to connect the cords of this product to my camcorder's, after 4 hours I gave up.

Was able to use it only once. The second time I tried to use it the adapter did not work at all. Took it back to the store and they told me they couldn’t help.

Recording capture from Hi8 Sony handycam is not useable. Called Roxio support 5 days ago and recalled 2 days ago and they keep saying someone will call me. I am also disappointed in Best Buy because they marked this as not refundable. So i am out over $40 dollars. Do Not Buy this product.

able to transfer VHS camcorder tapes to computer using this device with a camcorder. did not have a working VCR so was happy it worked with camcorder. able to view all the old home movies...fun.

Difficult to get good quality when converting analog tape to digital format. Provides method to save old video tapes, but quality is not real good.
