Sometimes it works pretty well but most of the time there are problems. Some of my longer videos got a terrible case of audio lag. WAY too often, it wouldn't record sound. I wouldhave to restart my computer (sometimes twice) just to get sound to record. The process is very simple. Options are limited but it does what you need when it works properly.

So easy to transfer from VHS to computer! Simply plug and install software, and then hook up old var player and hit record. Couldn't be easier, and quality was exactly like on tape.

Best Buy should have mentioned the actual version compatibility, but instead only lists "MacOS" as compatible, which would lead one to think that Roxio Easy VHS to DVD for Mac works with all versions. I found out through Roxio's site it only works with up to Mac OS 13. Shouldn't have to dig through the internet for information that should be listed on the site I'm purchasing from. Didn't work, can't return it, wasted time, effort and money.

if your in a business to rerecord old videos and from video cassette or the old cameras that had dvi then yes its a good product and it is easy to do one thing just make sure your computer speakers is not facing the camcorder you need to keep that as far as you can it creates feed back it could ruin you r speakers or if they are built in the screen even worst. so please buy an USB extension it really helps. this device does comes with one but its not long enough.

Used to transfer old VCR tapes of family events to digital on my MacBook Pro. Couldn't have been easier.
Hardest part was finding a VCR that still worked.

The first issue was the fact that the software installation was the included dvd. I don’t have a dvd port on my MacBook so it took awhile to find a link online to download the software.
The connections are loose and I had to tape them together so it didn’t disconnect during video transfer.
Most transfers went smooth but then I noticed several began to have lagging audio.

This is old technology yes but if you want to digitize old vcr tapes this is the way to go. You do need a fairly powerful mac. But I'm only running OSX 10.9 with 4MB memory and it works. It comes with a disk with two app - one for the hardware and bonus #1 a very useable and simple DVD authoring application. Bonus #2 is the ability to hook up a video camera directly to your laptop. with the usb cable (for that you will need a 2/3 connector rca cable - like you used to transfer your tapes).

This product performs exactly as you would expect - a simple connection from your VCR to your Mac to transfer VHS tapes to digital media. I was able to get it setup quickly, and it only took me a few minutes to figure out the interface and the process. I've brought new life to many old videos, often combining several videos into one DVD. I chose the Mac version of this equipment because of the ease of using iMovie to edit and add menus/titles to the content. I've been very pleased with the results and have had no issues.

This device worked as advertise. It was actually simple to use. It was great to finally have all of my old VHS home videos transferred to digital. The only problem I ran into was if I let the capture run for a long period of time, the sync would eventually be off. But I started capturing footage in about 15 min increments, and it was fine. I was editing it together later anyway.

I bought this software to digitize some of my older performance videos from VHS tapes so that I could distribute them as DVDs. It did that job well.

I picked up this product to go along w/ Roxio Toast 11 Titanium. Software installed, no issues. Hooked up my old VCR, no problems. Transferred a couple of old home videos, seamlessly. Overall, product works as advertised. Program is simple to use and easy to figure out. Haven't tried to hookup my old MiniDV for movie transfer, but I would assume that should work fine as well. This product should really come bundled or as an optional add-on to Toast.

It works... I am so pleased with this product for years I wanted to transfer my old home videos from VHS to new technology. I ended up saving the videos to my external hard drive and will probably back them up onto a USB just to be safe.

Software needs to be upgraded. You should be able to choose audio or video or both. You should be able to specify the audio and video output format. Right now you only get .mov. When you play it QuickTime needs to convert the file which takes long. I also have serious issues with audio and video synchronization. I can continue to pick it apart but in conclusion the product would have potential with a serious upgrade. Wait for a new improved version.
