Really Works, Easy to Use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A few weeks ago I got the Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner. I got one free to facilitate this review (my opinions are my own). Having two dogs and three kids meant that this would be in use at least a few times a week. From my couches to my carpets to my area rugs, there is always a need to clean something up! Sure enough, within a day my girls spilled chocolate milk on my couch and it spilled to my rug. I pulled out the small and manageable Rug Doctor and used the motorized hand brush to clean up the mess. I filled the removable water tank easily and reattached it. Turning it on, I picked it up by it's retractable handle and easily carried it to the stain. The cord is plenty long to reach the couch in the center of the living room. As I used the suction capability on the brush, I could see the dirt and milk being sucked into the machine. It easily sucked up the milk and any dirt underneath returning my carpet and couch to clean. The machine did not leave a ton of water and it was dry in no time. I like the Rug Doctor Spot Cleaner and recommend it to anyone who has pets and kids and stains to clean! Lori - A Day in Motherhood

Give Your Elbow a Rest!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received a Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner to facilitate my review, but my opinions are mine, all mine and not influenced by outside sources. Two words: Life Saver. Or, they could be "Carpet Saver". Seriously. We have 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 kids, and a hubby who tends to track odd things in on his shoes. Luckily only 50% of our house is carpeted - we just bought our new house in February, our old house (literally old - built in 1817) had all wood floors throughout and no carpets, so now having half our house carpeted is a new adventure in spills, spots and (ahem) hairballs. Yes, the life of a pet owner is a never ending sequence of miscellaneous clean-ups. The Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner has been a huge help in keeping those random messes clean - I'm picky about keeping things clean, I don't want guests coming over and deciding that having four-legged critters roaming about is a bad thing. Before getting the Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner, I was using those spot cleaners in a can - you know the ones, you spray the foam, let it sit, then scrub scrub scrub. And still you have some sort of staining left behind, no matter how much elbow grease you put into action. The Rug Doctor is easily portable – lighter weight than the full version, with wheels (wheeee!), and a telescoping handle that makes it easy to move the machine wherever you need it most. I had no trouble whatsoever carrying it upstairs to where it was desperately needed, and as I moved from one area to the next to re-clean the areas that weren't cleaned thoroughly from the spray can, the handle made it easy to pick it up and move it short distances. I love that the top of the motorized brush is clear plastic – being able to see how much water was being sucked up was a plus, so I could gauge how much water was still in the carpet before moving on to the next problem area. The cord is a good length – I didn't have to keep relocating it moving around our master bedroom, then on to the kids' rooms to clean up random messes. The suction strength is excellent – I felt confident that the underlying yuck was getting sucked up efficiently so there would be no trace left behind. The size is perfect for our needs – and so easy to store when not in use. I was extremely impressed at what a great job it did getting the residual stains removed from previous accidents – I was worried that they were now set in, since I couldn’t get them completely gone with good old fashioned elbow grease and that spray can spot remover. My OCD side is very, very happy. The residual stains are completely gone, and I can sleep easier at night. The machine does come with a small bottle of cleaning solution so you can start tackling those little jobs right out of the box - emphasis on ‘little’, only because it would take forever if you were thinking you would do your whole carpet with this particular unit. They have much bigger ones for the big jobs – there’s a reason this is called a “Spot Cleaner”, and it’s exactly what we needed! If you have pets, or kids, or a messy husband – I would highly recommend you pick yourself up one of these and have it handy. Your elbow and sanity will be forever grateful.

Cute, Compact and Powerful Punch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received a Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner sample to facilitate this review. With a small house we don't need a huge carpet cleaner and also don't have a lot of space to store one. Part of our home has hardwood floors, so I don't need a full size machine, just something to tackle the spot stains from pets and children. With a 4 year old a 10 year old and a new dog, we have lots of messes! This compact cleaner is the perfect size for limited space. It is lightweight enough to lift for upholstery and stairs and I love the retractable handle for each storage. I was thrilled that no assembly was required with this machine and it was good to go. It was so simple to use and I didn't have to read a manual just to turn it on. The tanks were really easy to fill and empty. It's perfect for busy families!

Fantastic Carpet Cleaner
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received a Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner sample to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own. Having just had my third child a few weeks back, my house is beyond chaotic (which I expected) but the problem that bothers me the most is the horrible carpet stains around my house. Just last week, my daughter spilled the infant's formula all over my living room carpet. If you do not know, formula stains badly and I thought I was out of luck until we took out the Rug Doctor. In no time at all, the formula stain was gone along with the horrible remnants of food stains, dirt, and even the dreaded wine stain, that has been unpleasantly stained deep in my carpet. I have tried many products before to try to get the stains out of my carpet, but inevitably I ended up hiring a carpet cleaning service to get the stains out. I just never found a vacuum that had enough force to clean up the stains and it would take me all day to get out one small stain. Now with my Rug Doctor, I never have to worry about stains in my house again since the Rug Doctor works so well! When I received the Rug Doctor, I was nervous to set it up because it came in a big package. Lucky for me, there was ZERO set up other than removing the Clean Water tank. I simply filled it with warm water and then added the soap to the fill line. I will tell you that the clear and removable water tank (which has an easy open and close cap) will get you very far in getting out lots of stains. I was surprised to see that I got so many stains removed and still had plenty of water left in the tank. Once the clean water tank is filled, I was ready to use my Rug Doctor. I absolutely loved the Rug Doctor's exclusive motorized handheld brush and the way the machine turns on with the press of a button. The suction of the brush is incredible. It actually has 2x the suction power of other carpet cleaners on the market and allows me to get a good, deep clean. I did not have to use much force or get down on my hands/knees to get the stains out. The vibrating brush did this all for me. Once I was done cleaning the living room carpet, I was ready to bring it on my stairs. Thankfully the Rug Doctor was so easy to maneuver and the slim design allowed me to fit it on my very narrow stairs. I had no problem taking it from point A to point B because it has an "Easy-Carry" handle, similar to a suitcase handle. They thought of everything when they invented the Rug Doctor! Other features I love with the Rug Doctor include the no tangle cord wrap and flexible hose with compact storage, which allows me to put away the Rug Doctor and not have to trip over any of the cords when I take it in and out. It also has carpet-friendly wheels for extra maneuverability and moves along easily on all carpet types, from rugs, to wall-to-wall carpet areas, and to even the interior of your car. The Rug Doctor is an incredible product that will help you deal with all those horrible stains and get your carpet looking new again! From its sleek design to the versatility of carpet areas that the Rug Doctor can be used on, you will have a great product that will work! I highly recommend the Rug Doctor!

Great cleaning gadget
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received a Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner sample to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own. Messes happen. Even in the cleanest of homes they come about from either pets or kids or adults with clumsy hands. Whatever the cause Rub Doctor is to the rescue with their newest Portable Spot Cleaner. The spot cleaner is powerful and compact with all the bells and whistles you’d need to get out the most stubborn of stains. Little Man is a joy when he is eating but he of course makes messes and it always seems to be a staining food on the carpet or a staining juice on the carpet. So this little Spot Cleaner is perfect. Instead of Steaming or Shampooing your whole carpet you can set it to work on your most stubborn stainsjust use the included hand held cleaning tool. The Spot Cleaner consists of a double suction hand held motorized activation cleaning brush. Being hand held is great but the unit also sports a telescoping handle for easy movement from spot to spot. This unit is perfect for spots big or small. Using this unit we were able to get stubborn stains out of our living room carpet including but not limited to old pet stains, spilled juice and even Mexican food stains. All of which were almost a pleasure to clean. Included in the package is meant to act as your all in one spot remover. The package includes a Portable Spot Cleaner Complete Package comes with the Portable Spot Cleaner machine, an 8 oz. trial size cleaning solution, a spot finder black light, a fur remover brush, a 1 year extended warranty, and $20.00 in Rug Doctor Coupons.

Compact Size Perfect For Small Spills and Cleaning
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received a Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner sample to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own. I am a mom to 4 kids ages 6 and under along with a dog (and a husband!). We encounter our fair share of spills on the carpet, muddy paws and boots, mysterious stains that no one will cop to making, so I was extremely excited to try out the Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner on our stains. Out of the box set up was a breeze, as there really isn't any. Fill with water and cleaning solution and you are ready to begin. I love the compact size. We have an upright carpet cleaner (vacuum type of style) and it's so bulky that I can't haul it up from the basement to easily clean up spills. I reserve that for my husband to do and only when the spill is justified in doing so. Now I have a handy portable carpet cleaner that I can use on any spill! Yay for that. I had several stains to try it out on. I began with a set of stains on my light colored carpet made when my 2 year old dumped wet crayons on the floor. I had some ugly red stains on the carpet and the rug doctor took them right out. I also had various black stains on the carpet left from the dog and the kids running through with their shoes on. The rug doctor aced those as well. After i had tackled all the indoor carpet stains my husband stole the machine and went to town with it on the vehicles and the boat. It was the perfect size to detail the vehicles and boat with and he was thrilled with it. The motorized hand tool is perfect for detailing as well as getting in hard to reach places. In the past I used spray on carpet cleaner and paper towels to scrub stains. I never felt they got a good cleaning accomplished and with the rug doctor I feel that my carpet actually gets clean AND the stain comes out which didn't usually happen with spray on cleaner. Clean up is easy and I store the rug doctor in my cleaning closet so it's easy to pull out and clean up spills. I'd be lost without it now! If you have kids, dogs or even just a vehicle or boat then I highly recommend the Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner!

Our Carpets are White Again!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received a Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner sample to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own. Our home was previously owned by an older couple and has white carpet throughout it. In our home this summer, we had our 6 kids much of the time. We also had friends and family who visited, so you can just imagine the dirt that our white carpet collected. There were a few stains on the carpet (from dirt being tracked in I believe) that we used the Rug Doctor on. It took a few times going over it, but the Rug Doctor removed the stain! I love that the Rug Doctor required no assembly and was super easy to use! I could literally see the dirt being lifted from the carpet. I like that the trigger made it easy to dispense the soap onto the carpet and that the brush was tough enough to get the stain out, but still gentle on the carpet. I also like that the suction was strong, lifting the remaining water from the carpet. I would definitely recommend the Rug Doctor to my friends and family!

A Great Little Powerhouse Cleaner!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received a Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner sample to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own. Right out of the box, the Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner doesn't need any assembly and, other than adding water and soap, you can get started cleaning right away. I love that Rug Doctor made just about every aspect foolproof, as the markings on the tanks show exactly how much water to add, how much soap, and just when to empty the dirty water when it reaches the full line. Easy peasy! When it comes to using this little cleaner, the carry handle is just right if you want to move a small amount and the retractable handle (it moves up and down like a rolling suitcase) is perfect for rolling right into the next room or taking this in and out of storage. I love that it can be used on carpet, upholstery, stairs (the slim design sits right on a stair), in cars and more - it's just so portable and great for getting into small areas and tight corners. As for actual use, the motorized handheld brush is easy to turn on or leave off and its clear top on the nozzle makes it possible to see the water, soap and dirt being sucked in. The strong suction not only really gets the dirt up but it doesn't leave the cleaned area soaked - I've mainly used this in rooms where we have wall-to-wall carpet and it's great being able to get up all sorts of new and old stains and not have to worry that there are then going to be soggy spots for hours afterward. All in all, this is a wonderful cleaner and just so easy to use! Why pull out bottles and sprays and sit there scrubbing (which usually just ends up rubbing the stain in further) when the Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner can be rolled right out, filled, used and emptied (disposing of the dirty water is very easy) with so much less work? It's a must-have for households with kids, pets or simply anyone who doesn't want to deal with dirty, dingy carpet, rugs and upholstery!

I Love This!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First let me just say that my portable rug doctor carpet cleaner has changed my life. It might sound a little extreme, but please let me explain why I feel this way. We have had this mini doxie that refuses to use the bathroom outside. That was bad, but it was manageable. Then my husband rescued a larger dog and she seems to have learned from the little one that it is perfectly acceptable to use my carpeted floors to do her business. I had just finished renting a commercial Rug Doctor machine to clean all of the carpets when I learned there was a Rug Doctor portable spot cleaner. I have always loved how well the Rug Doctor machines work when I rent them and used to wish there was a smaller version that would make it easier to deal with messes right away without having to lug a huge machine around for a few small areas. I was so excited for the Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner to arrive! It came just in the nick of time. Literally 10 minutes after I opened it my son called me from the other room to tell me Molly had made another mess. It was SO easy to clean up the mess. The Rug Doctor has 2 containers. One is for clean water, and the other is for the dirty water. I filled the clean water tank with water and cleaner and turned on the machine. The hand help tool has a powerful rotating brush that can be turn on separately. The whole process is super simple and takes no time to get the job done. I was very impressed to see the portable Rug Doctor had the same suction power as the full sized versions if not more. It was fun to watch as all of the dirty water was sucked up. I would highly recommend the Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner to anyone.

Portable, fast, thorough.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was sent a Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner sample in exchange for an honest review. So, my mother-in-law came to stay with us for two weeks (yeah, two weeks!). Even though we have a strict "no drinking in the living room" policy, she seemed to think that it was okay to drink coffee. In the living room. Of course, I don't have to tell you... she SPILLED COFFEE ON MY CARPET. Brand. New. Carpet. Anyway, enough about her... this is about how the Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner saved my marriage. My wife is extremely picky about the house, and likes it to be clean 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I knew I had to fix that huge coffee spot before she got home from work. I whipped out the Rug Doctor, and got started with nothing more than the Instructions booklet and a prayer. At first, I was a bit intimidated, but that wore off rather quickly. Perhaps because I was frantically trying to clean, or perhaps because the Rug Doctor was extremely simple to use! My favorite part, besides the compact size, would have to be the fast and simple removable tanks. They're super easy to fill and empty. In the past, I've had less-than-desirable experiences with similar devices. Do you know how gross it is to spill dirty carpet water all over the place because you're having difficulty removing the tank?! Overall, I'd recommend the Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner to my friends. It did the job very well - it cleaned my carpet with minimal effort on my part, and totally saved my marriage. ;) That might be stretching it jusssst a bit, but you get the idea. It's super handy!

Must Have for any Family with carpet!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.. Rug Doctor is a brand we have used and trusted for many years! I was so excited to learn about this spot cleaner! Let’s face it With Kids and pets, there are always going to be accidents no matter how careful you try to avoid them. The Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner is great powerful little machine to have around for every day spills, tracked in mud, and pet accidents! This machine is very lightweight and easy to tote or pull around, which is very important to me because I hated having to haul my full size carpet cleaner out for small jobs! I was very impressed how powerful this cleaner was. We were amazed how well it took out a stain in my son’s room that had been there for months. The MOTORIZED BRUSH makes the cleaning process so much easier. I also loved how much a tank of water and cleaner lasted. I have been going around the house cleaning every spot I can find and my carpet now looks great! The only con that I can find is when I opened the dirty water tank to empty it for the first time I wasn’t aware that the openings on the side of the tank and I spilled the dirty water back on the carpet and myself. My daughter found this very funny so I had to re-clean the area. Now that I am aware, I’ll be sure not to let that happen again. Overall, I give this a 5 star rating and have already recommended to family friends! Rug Doctor really lived up to their name as always and I am so glad I have this little machine!

Perfect for Families with Kids
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received the Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner to review and put to the test on the stains on our couch from our 18 month old twins. Set up was easy - pretty much just add the soap/water and plug in. A push of a button and the spot cleaner is on. The handle has a button to dispense soap on the stains and a brush to scrub and remove dirt/water. You do need to pay attention while scrubbing so that you don't accidentally hit the soap button again and dispense more. Our stains on the couch were pretty set in and the material is a light beige color. With just one use the stains were considerably darker. I wasn't expecting them to be completely removed because they were formula and juice stains - which are the worst! I was very impressed with what was removed and how it looked when done. Overall the Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner worked very well, is easy to use, and easy to store. Side Note: My parents tested it out on the OLD cushions in the RV they recently purchased off Craig's List. There was a dark black stain on one of the cushions and it was completely gone after one use of the spot cleaner. The material was typical 80's material you would see on retro cushions.

Rug Doctor has saved my off-white rugs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received a Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner sample to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own. Why I ever thought off-white rugs in a bedroom were a good idea, I’ll never know. Between the dog and the husband spilling coffee as he walks into the bedroom (as well as other food products), we had spots. I really only needed a rug cleaner that would quickly take care of the smaller messes in between major cleanings. I love the portability and storage of this spot cleaner, it’s light enough for me to do myself and has the scrubbing power that I need. It can be rather loud, but I’ve found that the full room carpet cleaners that I’ve used are noisy as well, so I didn’t expect this to be any different. It does a phenomenal job on new stains, and has even removed much of what’s been ground in over time. The BIGGEST plus for me was the motorized hand-held brush, as I was also able to clean the carpeted floor mats in my car. WIN-WIN Overall, it is saving me money by allowing me to extend the time between major carpet cleanings!
