The story is fairly straightforward. With dozens of hours of game play, Rune Factory 4 is definitely a good time.

This is an excelent game that combines the relaxing nature of Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons games with the exciting gameplaty of action RPGs. The sheer amount of content in this game is amazing, all with the many activities you can do. The characters are excelently written, to the point in which you enjoy every interaction. It's overall a great game to pass time.

It's cute! It's fun just to knock a few minutes off during my lunch break. I can totally see myself playing around on commute to work and back, though I'm not going anywhere right now lol. It's very tropey so far, but in a cute comfy kind of way. If you're not much into jrpg tropes then it probably isn't for you, but I'm having a nice time.

As someone who doesn't "these type of games," it is nice to finally find one that is keeping my interest. The characters and story is a bit more interesting than the usual, and the humor had me chuckling at the very least.

Rune Factory 4 Special is an easy recommendation to any RPG fan who enjoys farming and life sim games, as well as for Stardew Valley fans. It is a fun game with so much to do like farming, exploring, fishing, and dungeon crawling.

all of the rune factory games slap but 4 has always particularly slapped, so i was stoked when this first released. i've sunken several hours into it and it's just as good and also stupid as before. yum

Rune Factory 4 Special is the second Rune Factory game I've played, the first being Rune Factory Frontier on the Wii. The same fun farming and slice of life gameplay is back, but with so many refinements, a bigger world, and a much more lengthy adventure. I had a hard time putting it down as it's easy to talk yourself into playing "just one more day" in-game. (btw, this is now my longest-played Switch game to date) The game is not hard but you will sometimes struggle until you get the next mineral type to make the next level of equipment. Speaking of which, the crafting and upgrade system is probably the biggest change to the series and you can get very involved in making super powerful stuff if you want to (though unnecessary for the most part). Also, you can choose to play as a male or female, however there aren't as many love interests to choose from as in the previous games, but the ones here are good. In fact all the characters are very lively and have a lot of personality. The town events are fun but they trigger randomly, which can be frustrating if you're waiting for a certain one, such as a marriage pre-requisite event. I could go on, but I'll just say if you've enjoyed previous Rune Factory games or any other farming sims, this is a must play.

One of the best in the series. Highly recommend this game for any fan of the original Harvest Moon series who also like RPGs. If you like Stardew Valley or have played any of the other Rune Factory games, I say try it out!

Rune Factory 4 is like Story of Seasons except I get to be a pretty amnesiac almost-Princess who rules a whole town with the power of farming and swinging a sword in the woods. 10/10 would raise a wolf again

Game is awesome not very far into it but it's good. Was going to buy the 3DS version but this version is more improved towards the end game. Got one of the last copy's in my area. Seems like they did not make many of these physically.

the game is good if a little more flirty then I like. I love being able to combine farming AND RPG AND monster taming. I feel like I can play this no matter what my mood is because it is so versatile.

A fun, cute, and diverse farming game that includes monster taming/fighting. I really enjoy all the different things you can do in the game and its a refreshing take on the typical farming style game.

Rune Factory is one of my favorite niche series, and RF4 is by far the most quality of the bunch. Very fun and addicting. Better than Stardew Valley, traditional Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons, and Animal Crossing!

Easily one of the most fun, engaging, and casual to intermediate level gaming experiences anyone can have. There’s a little something for everyone here as far as gameplay goes, you can’t go wrong picking this up!

Rune Factory 4 is one of my favorite RPGs - I own it on the 3DS, and am extremely pleased with the Switch version. The visuals and sound are great, and the game itself is fantastic. The characters are full of personality and interact with each other. Everyone has a routine. There are many crops and weapons to choose from, and the creation system can become VERY involved, if you want to go down that black hole. If you are wondering whether you should wait for Rune Factory 5 instead of buying this game, I would say purchase this game. It's a great stand alone game, and purchase Rune Factory 5 as well if it suits your fancy,
