Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the Tello Boost Combo Quadcopter's ease of use, camera quality, and battery life, frequently citing its smooth operation and surprisingly good image capture for the price. However, some users experienced challenges with the drone's wind resistance and limited range, particularly in breezy conditions. Concerns were also raised regarding app compatibility with newer Android devices and the lack of an included controller in some packages.

Fun entry-level drone, but weak battery life

It’s a fun, portable, entry-level camera drone. My son is 9 and has no problem taking it to the park and flying on his own. But there’s a reason it comes with several extra batteries. Battery life is really short (less than 10 minutes each most of the time), and the app is a little clumsy when having to disconnect/reconnect on a battery swap. Would probably opt for one of the cheaper drones that just uses a dedicated controller instead of the touch screen.

Very stable over most surfaces, if you let go it stops where it is, very fun for my family. Range is not the best but you can extend it. Excellent family fun and 12 plus minutes of fly time on 3 batteries last a good while.

Loved this! Got it for my boyfriend as a birthday gift, he always talked about wanting a drone. Knowing he's never flown one before, I wasn't about to drop $500 on an expensive one just for it to fly into the ground. This one was PERFECT! It was super easy to learn and works great with the phone remote. The live video is awesome to be able to see where you're flying and what it looks like from above! It definitely goes fast and does some pretty cool tricks like FLIPS! If you're looking for a beginner drone (or even just looking for a cost effective one) THIS IS IT! Get the package deal so you can get the extra batteries! A full change only lasts about 10-15 minutes.

It works like the expensive ones but without the range. Takes decent pictures. Videos pretty bumpy. Will not work with any kind of breeze whatsoever. But good deal for the price. Prop gaurds are kinda weak also. Cheap to replace.

Simple drone, great for beginners, the best for the price. Beware of going near wifi and bluetooth signals. I got near the gameroom window on the 2nd floor where alot of bluetooth and wifi signals are and the drone went straight away from me and kept going. Im still looking for it. But i bought a new and so far so good!

This Tello Quad Copper is a great low cost drone. You can install the software to control this drone directly on your smart phone and it works very well. The camera mounted on this drones get very decent 720p picture quality in fact it looks better than my previous Logitech web cam. Be sure to pick up additional propellers and fan guards as while you learn to fly this bad boy you are indeed going to be breaking some parts. Overall I really like this drone especially being my first drone purchase, I highly recommend this one for someone first getting started in this hobby.

Very happy with this drone. Shoot's very good photos and video. Flies perfectly fine. Except if wind is high. But to be expected. But overall I am happy with the drone.

Bought this for our 11 year old son and he loves it. Very simple to fly and we do so indoors with lots of ceiling fans and obstacles and it is easy to control. We bought a controller but it wasn't necessary since you fly with your iPhone or iPad with a point of view from the camera. It can do flips and other aerial tricks and gets really good battery life - plus with the 3 extra batteries you can run it pretty much non stop if you swap. Really fun and surprisingly solid for this price.

Thus is my second purchase of the Ryze Tello; 1st was a gift. This bundle package is great for those looking to consistently use this product further than a single battery flight. The picture quality was better than I expected. Only difficulty in using this item was being able to operate safely during windy conditions.

This drone has perfect capabilities for a beginner. It got me hooked and then immediately wanted more. But this is built on the DJI platform and companies have provided additional apps like tracking you. The camera is not as great as the more expensive, but againfor a beginner. Perfect. It hovers and maintains its position very well. Propeller guides are removable for outside and provide protection while inside. After purchase, install Tello apps and look for additional apps for the followme capability. Have fun with it.

Purchased this as a gift. The camera is a good quality, but not as clear as I wanted but that is okay you pay for what you get. This is very light weight, and again good for beginners. Came with extra wings and 3 extra batteries. Batteries last up to 10 or 11 minutes the most. You can download an app and control it with your phone or buy the controller.

This is a great drone for kids or just getting into drones. Very stable and easy to fly indoors. Outside if windy it gets more difficult. App is simple and easy to use. Good flight time, around 13 minutes. Video and picture quality is just passable. Do not get if that is your main goal with this.

Purchased this drone for my 7 year old. It does great out of the box! It didn’t require any adjustments to the trim. It hovered perfectly in place. We decided to not get the separate remote control and instead our daughter is controlling it off of one of our tablets instead. It’s small enough to fly inside and the camera is actually pretty darn good considering the size and megapixels. It’s running a DJI type program and I couldn’t be happier with this purchase for her.

The RYZE Tech Tello is a good product to start with compared to entry level drones. It has a simple UI and a child can easily control it. It has an easy connection between drone and phone. It captures quality photos and quality videos. It does have simple presets how the drone moves as it captures video. The downside for me is that all captured data is passed to the phone and not in a storage in the drone. It does not have internal or slot for storage. And because of its size, it also has issues out in the open considering a light breeze could drift your drone away. For me, I should say that they should get rid of the drone alone pack and keep the "Boost Combo". Then drop the price lower. Starter drone enthusiasts should enjoy this small piece of gadget at reasonable price with the extra battery pack.
