Good Product, Wrong Application

Product does function as intended however, it failed to perform in the application applied. I was attempting an FTP NAS via the USB on my RAX200. However, drives show up as Sabrent Docking USB Controller Hub. I attempted to connect directly with my mac, but showed up the same except the MBR was unreadable therefore the FS was unreadable and partitions. The docking station works fine, just not for my use case. I returned this item.
Resolve was found by using the Insignia NS-PCHDEDS19. This passes the drive information through the usb without having to go through a controller hub. Both my Mac and router can view the same drive just fine. Furthermore, the RAX200 can even see and assign a second drive letter to a second drive, which is great! I plan on running a software RAID 1 with this setup.
I would recommend this product for a far less complex setup. Either direct connection or through a shared NIC from USB.

I had 2TB HD for several years and my power cord went bad. So I purchased the New Case with the Power supply built in and works Great. Transfering it into the New Case was easy. It took 3 Minutes.

It's perfect to use when trying to back up any old drives laying around. Just that if the drive is dead, then it's truly dead which I sadly couldn't save one of my drives, but that's besides the point.

I’m absolutely loving the Sabrent Docking Station for SATA Drives! It fits perfectly with my setup, and the plug-and-play setup was a breeze. It handles both 2.5" and 3.5" SATA drives effortlessly, and the USB 3.0 speed makes data transfers a snap. The offline cloning feature and one-touch backup button are game-changers for me. Plus, the built-in fan keeps everything cool during long sessions. It’s quickly become an essential part of my tech gear. If you’re looking for a reliable and versatile docking station, this one’s a no-brainer!

I bought this to replace a vertical version that damaged my HD. I was able to connect the damaged HD to this horizontal connection style and it worked perfect.

Works fairly well with my 8tb drive fast speeds when plugged into the correct USB slot on my laptop.
Although if I let the drive sit unused for too long there can be delays in accessing the data again. The drive takes about 20-30 second to start working again after 5 or so minutes of rest.
In rare cases, generally if I put the laptop into sleep mode without unplugging the drive, the laptop will be stuck in sleep mode and an emergency power off is required to get things working again.

This a really nice enclosure for older 3.5" SATA hdds. Needing a plug for external power is a little cumbersome. But otherwise an excellent device.

Very nice. Installed a 2TB hard drive I removed from a floundering Lenovo Desktop to use as external storage. Easily connected and recognized via USB to another machine. Use light shows connection status.

Over time I have accumulated a number of hard drives from old computers and I wanted a means of checking them for files and wiping them. The Sabrent Docking Station has been the perfect tool.
With the docking station you get a power adapter and usb cable, so everything needed to hook it up to your pc. The station accommodates both 1.5" and 2.5" drives, they merely slide into place. As a result it is easy to swap out the drives.
Once I turned on the device, my computer immediately recognized and mounted the drive. It made it easy to check the drive for files and to then use my shredder software to wipe the drive. I now have several formatted and blank drives which I can use for archival backups.

Fairly straight forward drive enclosure. Door helps keep the drive protected but I wouldn't depend on it for any liquid protection and only mild dust protection. It instantly picked up on my UGreen NAS and I was able to easily use it as my off site backup. Door could latch a bit more aggressively. Very easily opens even when moving it around.
