Specifically, it’s like a one way route type of cable adapter for some devices and gadgets; and it may work on some 3.5+ SATA III external HDDs or less depending on certain circumstances and typically decent designs, but not all of them are accurately relevant for it.

This Sabrent SATA to USB Adapter made replacing my wife's old slow SATA drive with a new SATA SSD drive. The results were amazing. It now performs like a brand new much faster computer. The Sabrent seems to be the adapter everyone was using, and it wasn't expensive at all!

There is no power source so my drive wouldn't spin up to be read. I had to return it and buy another type.

I was having issues with my Playstation 4 console, and I needed to check if the hard drive needed repair or replaced. The only way to check the data on the hard drive was to connect it to my laptop, but I did not have the cord to do this. After doing a bit of research, I found the adaptor that I needed and ordered it online. It does what it's intended to do! No issues with the product itself and it has helped me fix my PS4. Now I can play my games again!

Works as said it will. I had no problems using this. The advertised software that you can download is useless unless your wanting to mirror your hard drive on the pc.. I was told by a geeksquad person that i could use it to mirror external ssd and hdd, but not true. They have the "Geek" name for a reason maybe?

I needed to clone my SATA hard drive to a new SATA solid-state drive, and I used this adapter to connect my new solid-state drive to a high-speed USB port on my PC. Worked great. Cloning process actually went fairly fast.

Works in every sense as advertised. Not the biggest fan of the design, however (just the "chunky" look of the SATA end)- but worth this sacrifice for the price-point.

I've used it on laptop running Debian Linux and a PC running Windows 11. No problems. Does what it should.

This SATA drive adapter is not as robust as I would need to do the kind of work that I typically perform for friends and clients, but definitely would work well under ideal circumstances.

This product got me past a roadblock with cloning and upgrading family's ancient spindle 500GB laptop HDD to SSD that popular cloning softwares were reporting incompatible 512 byte to 4096 byte format caused by another brand of USB to SATA adapter. Started the cloning process before Superbowl 2024 and it completed by the time Kansas City Chiefs won.
