I'm still working through getting access to those files but the cable does its job: My laptop recognizes the old HDD that the cable is connected to.

Only problem was I also had a different problem with the hard drive but seemed crazy this product is well known more.

Great for backing up data from an old 2.5 drive. Will not work with 3.5 drives unless you have a separate power source for them. This is great get info off laptop drives and ssd 2.5 drives.

Pops file recovery system

Bought it for a dead lap top to recoup some files. Then open an old box and found old laptop hard drives that I had forgotten I had. Have some work to do now.

The cable is literally plug & play and I was downloading and filling the SSD with games in minutes. Shout out the Digital Foundry for the suggestion! :)

Great way to use leftover sata ssd drives.

Just plug this into the drive and then into a usb 3 port and use it for backups or external storage.

Super easy data retrieval!

Several old computers in the house. I just popped out the drives, plugged in the SATA adapter, connected to a USB on my laptop and transferred the old data to my hard drive. Extremely easy! No drivers needed.

Turns out it wasn’t really required, but I’m glad bought it because now I can take my SSD with me wherever I go and use it on my laptop.
