It kind of fell off after working the fields more. The combat was pretty good, and the food element was interesting with collecting the ingredients, but maintaining the rice and preparing it... after the first few times, the novelty wears thin. Still worth it for the actual area exploration.

I'll start by saying the moment I looked at this game, I knew it was going to be fun, and I wasn't wrong. Beautiful graphics and music, mystical, mythical themes, challenging battles, RPG upgrade elements, a compelling story, lovely cast of characters, and a garden and harvest system that is nice for getting permanent upgrades you may need to go further into the game. It's pretty fun, and I am very sorry I missed the Divine Edition of this game. REALLY worth it.

I got it because I saw you could farm! The game is visually appealing, I love the art style so much! I play it with the Japanese dub and English subtitle, the voice acting is good! It's a game mixed with strategic combat and very detailed rice farming. At first since it was my first game that had fighting/combat, It was difficult but I got the hang of it and its really fun! Very easy to lose track of time!
Also yes its the physical switch version.

This game is very cute. It's a platformer, rice farming--just all around interesting game. I was surprised to see that it was also fully voiced. All the characters have audio lines which is nice! The art style is also very beautiful. If you're into quirky and interesting games, this is definitely worth it.

Awesome slightly overlooked game. Gameplay is divided between 2D hack’n’slash (think Dust, Hollow Knight) with the other half being a farming simulator; where you must farm rice. Fully voice and super charming game. It’s got it’s quirks and there’s very little hand holding in the farming portions, but it’s incredibly fun.

Haven't gamed much recently due to my line of work but this right here has been a blast. Honestly it's great playing in bursts and I really wish I had more time on my hands to play it more.
If side scrollers with a great story is your thing, then I highly recommend this. The farming aspect is also rather interesting but it's not the top feature here. The combat and interaction with the environment is what grabs me.

This game snuck through most people's radars, but you! Yeah, you! Check this game out and be pleasantly surprised if you like in depth rice farming, side scrolling multi-path levels, fast paced combat, and an interesting surprisingly deep narrative.
The rice farming is, in my opinion, the highlight of this game. You have to pay attention to details such as water level and temperature, spacing, and tending to weeds and pests. It sounds mundane but honestly it's kind of exciting to see how your rice and skill progresses each season.

This game is unique and amazing. It has rice farming which you use to build up Sakunas stats. Farming is a 3D 3rd person exploring type of play. When you explore and fight its a 3D side scrolling action game with special abilities
Very addictive and fun. So glad Nintendo convinced them to bring this to the west.

If you like farming sims, platforming, and bopping monsters, then this is the game for you. The farming part is very relaxing and the combat is fun and engaging. If you are on the fence about this, just get it because you won't be disappointed.

I love this game so far! The music and visuals are a wonder
It’s slow farming is at times aggravating and it came up to be a nuisance
But despite that, the game is fun and you’ll love it
It’s a good game to add to your collection!

Loss of sleep and hours, I can't tell you how many times I would go "oops it's that late already?" I was having that much fun, Lately I haven't been into combat in any games but this game made it fun and enjoyable for me to the point I found myself going out into the fray more often than actually farming which is what I do! (I have soooo many farming games)

A Fun Take on the Farm 'N Fight Genre

Besides running pretty well on the Switch, this is game does it's two core concepts well - it's a fun sidescrolling battler, and it's a prety unique farming sim as you go in depth with one crop and that process evolves over the course of the game. Definitely has more flavor than some other takes of the genre that I could never get into (such as Rune Factory 4).

I’m don’t really a platfomer guy. I don’t have must time to play so why struggle doing the same zone until learn it?
Well in Sakura there is enough RPG to solve that problem. You can (and are expected) to grow rice. Each crop you harvest can permanently increase your stats. So if you get stuck on a hard encounter you can wait for another crop and easily brute force it’s. Maybe that is good maybe it isn’t. But it means you can’t get stuck based on poor skill during the story part of the game.
That said sometimes you can get stuck needing to find a certain item that is a low drop rate and this results in you needing to rerun the same map repeatedly.
