This is a pretty wonderful microphone and is reasonably durable. The price is a bit expensive but the alternatives are much pricier but then you are looking at shelling out over $100+. Easy to use but there are some hiccups here and there with the software.

My son needed this for a school project and I was grateful that it was not overpriced and did exactly what he needed to do for this project.

Needed a mic which would be away from my face. This works perfectly and my breathing is not picked up as noise. Works using Skype and playing video games.

    Low noise speech recognition

I use this microphone in a very low noise environment with Windows speech recognition as well as Dragon NaturallySpeaking 12, and I have to say it is absolutely amazing the clarity and accuracy of dictation. I clipped this microphone onto a pen and then insert the pan into the handle of a tripod so that I can stand up and dictate very comfortably. But my room is almost noise free so I'm not sure about noisy environments. Note it is the bedroom of a second-floor house in a average neighborhood. I can speak about 1/2 foot to 1 foot away from the microphone and it is fine. I'm not sure about going further than 1 foot as it will reduce the accuracy but perhaps not by much. I am dictating this review using the microphone and so far there have been no errors made. And I'm speaking at a normal pace. Isn't that amazing? I don't really like the wireless headsets because they cramp up my head and years and are very uncomfortable with the larger microphones were too big and awkward to position. This microphone being so tiny and having a clip is just perfect. The recording quality is absolutely amazing for microphone the size and at this price. I've owned this Mike for about a month now so I can't speak for its durability, however I am a bit concerned about the way the swivel was designed because I'm not sure how tight it will be after being rotated many times in the next years. But right now the swivel is holding up perfectly

Hissing, missing parts and want work in DAW

i wanted to try this out, i already have a condenser mic that is great, but it is a phantom power condenser, so want to see if a usb mic well work when im on the move and nice to mic a clients voices. this mic hooks up great no drivers needed. this mic have a hissing sound, so i thought it was the acoustics in the room, so i put it on mute and thien i buried it in a stack of cloths to block out all the noise, then unmuted this mic. Like i suspected, it was the mic, the mic is making all this noise, so then i put it in my sound booth, and it did the same. i was going to still keep this mic, because it really have a good response, very flat, no coloring to the sound, beside that hissing mic noise. which i have a program that can really remove that hissing sound, but that the only program that i use and like, that really can see this mic, it will not show up in any other program i use, like Cubase, Fruity loops, reason, Live. So this is the reason for returning this mic. It works in Sonar " Cakewalk products" BTW it was missing a part, that mounts this mic to standard mic stand, the euro to standard adapter, i call Samson cust service, you will get a recording to leave a message and they will return it the next business day, so i left one and they never returned the call. So there customer service really suxs, If you like to use those cheesy cakewalk programs, i say buy this mic, but if you want to use it with another program that is very good " mainstream" it will not see this mic.

    Holy cow, what a value

This thing is small. Like, smaller than a business card small. As soon as I opened the box, I had trepidation about it, but figure I had it unpacked and might as well plug it in. Comes with a nice long 2-meter very flexible USB cable that wasn't so heavy that it pulled it off the desk like some stiff cables can. Plugged it in, tested normal speaking voice at different ranges, and this thing, I gotta say, is incredible for the size and price. (I'm not a singer, so YMMV in that regard, but I bought it for dubbing narrations over YouTube instructional videos.) Glad I bought this rather than the $100+ models. I'm going to keep it in the box so I don't misplace it, though.

Plug and play. It was recognized by my Windows 7 (64 bit) with no problems and everything worked as it should. I will be using this for internet chatting so I wasn't expecting audiophile quality. An issue I ran across was the unit being muted if I clicked in the speaker box icon. Clicking again unmuted the mic. Path was Start/Control Panel/Sound/Recording/Samson/Properties/Level. You will see a slider for the volume and if you accidentally click on the small speaker icon box, it will mute the mic.

    Surpassed my Expectations

I'm learning to play the guitar and am subscribed to a program that gives me feedback based on the notes and chords I play. My laptop's integrated microphone was not enough to record the sounds produced by the guitar and the program could not give me feedback. The reason I bought the Samson was because I needed a microphone, but didn't want to spend too much money on something that I wasn't going to be using on a professional level. Well this little fella' exceeded my expectations. It is way smaller than what I was expecting from looking at the box, but size didn't matter. The quality of recording and the ease of use #just plug and use# makes me give this guy an A+!

I was looking for an easy to use microphone for doing voiceovers when editing video in Avid Studio. This device is small, portable so you can use it on any computer wherever you go, and the sound quality is more than I could have expected. I normally keep this plugged into my desktop (editing station); it is clamped to a lamp bracket at speaking distance. Whenever I need it I just activate whatever recording program I am using and record professional quality audio.

    Best bang for your buck

Wow, I just picked up the Samson Go Mic as a new recording mic. Just doing the very few tests I have, the sound is FAR superior to the mic in this Logitech h540 headset I use for audio playback. For podcasters or people doing voice overs on video on a budget, this thing is great. It doesn't pick up the lows perfectly, like more expensive condenser microphones will, but the sound with it sitting roughly 12 or so inches from me and talking in a normal speaking voice is clear. And it's only $40. I haven't even had to use Audacity's noise reduction feature in my tests. And the Logitech headset mic as well as my Logitech HD camera mic picked up a ton more noise in my recording area, which isn't soundproofed. I cannot comment on the software, as I do not have it installed. I use a Mac and use Audacity to record audio.

This is a very good quality microphone to record directly to a computer via USB. The software that is included is an outstanding bonus for the price.

This is the best microphone I have used so far. It is amazing for the price, and I wouldn't mind paying another $10 or $20 for this microphone. My main uses for this microphone are for voiceovers and videos. It's very portable, lightweight, and oI have no trouble trying to use this microphone, and I can't wait to use this microphone even more and more.

I found this little mic to be a "HOSS" actually. Problems for ME, which might not be for someone else. I couldn't attach it even semi-permenantly for use. That made for a LOT of "handling"....unplugging, wrapping cords, moving, storing, bringing back and reattachment OFTEN. Personally, I don't think that is very good for a mic. After a while (several months) I began to hear "interfereance" when I would try to use it. In the beginning...there was NO hiss or noise of any type. I think possibly a new USB cord from the manufacturer might do the job well, but I have elected to go with a larger free-standing mic. For about sixty bucks....you can't go wrong! Just try to connect it and leave it connected when possible.

Bought this as a last minute, and after several tries, I couldn't figure out how to clip this mic to my laptop, so I had to hold it in my hand.
