Great for the price for intro level user

Mic was easy to set up. While built in tripod is good, a good mic stand is recommended. Mic picks up everything, sometimes too much but recording quality is great for studio environments. Built in monitor line is great feature and lets you hear exactly what is going into the recording with out any delay lag. Solid metal build.

you people looking for a mic should really get this one because it looks plain cool and also the mic quality is in my opinion a little better than the blue snowball. Also there is no humming sound even thought the person said there is. So i really recommend this mice and if you want to no how it sounds go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58vibxrAW40&feature=channel_video_title or youtube.com/Jkgaming1

Very good portable microphone

I use this microphone while traveling to conduct interviews, record podcasts, and record screencasts. It has decent sound quality, particularly considering the price. So far it has been very durable and serves my needs well. For a non-mobile studio, this could work, but you might like the Samson C01U better (I also bought one of those from Best Buy - my main reason for looking at Samson for my second mic was due to my satisfaction with the C01U. I've added a link to that mic if you want to see what it's like.
The only problem I've had isn't a microphone problem - it's a TSA problem. Seems TSA gets a little nervous about dense, metallic objects like this. Save yourself some time and take it out of your bag when you take your laptop out ;^)

i purchased this mic on march 27th the day it came out and have since recorded over 200 tracks of spoken word and song. the quality is incredible for a 100.00 unit much better than the Blue Microphones Bluebird Microphone that reatails for 300.00. if you are looking to do voice overs or better quality for skype this is the mic and if you are recording podcast i would also recommend this mic

I admit, it was the looks that first drew me to this microphone. Who can resist that gorgeous retro-look?
Unless you're just going to put it on a shelf or hang it on your wall, however, a mic has to be functional. This one is, but there are issues.
While it has a great heft to it and feels solid enough, one of the main features of this mic is the adjustable legs. This is a minor point, but with all three legs fully extended, the mic I got was cockeyed. The legs did not all open to the same degree, and I had to fully open the legs and then slightly adjust one in order to get the mic to sit straight.
When using this mic, you really need to be within 6 inches of it. Unless you have some sort of shelf sitting right in front of your face, you either have to lean in uncomfortably close or put the mic on a stand (thus defeating the point of the "adjustable legs" feature).
If you DO opt to use a stand, the legs become even more superfluous. They're either hanging open, making your mic on a stand look like a spider on a stick, or you close them and cover large portions of the mic's grille and obscure your sound. All of this makes the legs feel like a gimmick.
On the plus side, the thing is ULTRA-cool to look at, comes with a nice little carrying bag, and is plug-and-play for your PC, Mac, or iPad (with camera connection kit). No drivers required! And as long as you don't mind looking like a hunchback, a lot of fun could be had with this and Garage Band on the iPad.

Great Mic for Great Price

I was worried about getting this microphone because I already had a Samson mic that was $10 more than this. You know how it goes in the market, you spend more, you get more. So I was nervous that spending $10 less would hamper me from doing the things that I could do with my other microphone. I was wrong. This microphone is awesome. My favorite part about it is that it comes with its own legs and that you can put headphones inside the mic to better hear yourself and what you are recording.

Simple and Clean

Simplicity and quality, two easy ways to describe this mic. There was no program installation, just plug and play, and the quality is phenomenal for such a low price. As a drummer, I can tell the difference of two sticks from the same pack, from 10 feet away from the mic.
Rubber feet for standing up, option for a mic arm, mute button right in front; it really does give you the simplicity and the options one would need. If you're looking for a great mic to start out with for recording, either voice audio or anything else, this really is an exceptional package for you.

Good sound quality, nice look

I use it for voice recognition at work all day every day. It has nice background noise reduction, and has a good range--you don't have to be right in front of it. Due to its light weight, it is easy to transport, and move around on the desk. Downside is that the voice pick up is spotty at times. It is the best microphone I've found for transportability but still looking for better sound and voice recognition.

Above average quality for the price

I Love this mic. It has very good quality for the price. I use it for Online radio broadcast and podcasts. Why Pay more. Deep Rich sound when used close. BUT don't drop it or bang or shake it. I have now had two of these (will be buying another) but had misfortune to drop once and that's it.... the insides got "All Shook Up" and it doesn't Rock n Roll anymore. Treat it nice and this is a great microphone.

It’s a really good microphone but it does attract a lot of finger prints. Sound quality is good and samples at 16/48 at the highest.

There is a humming sound....

The sound is good with this, but there is a vibrating humming sound if it is sitting on it's legs. The only way I have gotten it to stop is by holding it or putting a pillow under it, but ever that doesn't cut out the humming sound. So if you are recording, be aware that there will be a humming or vibrating sound in the background unless you hold the microphone.

Inferior included cable

The included cable failed after a few months. Also, before the cable failed, not-otherwise-present clicks and pops were inserted into the recorded signal. Had it not been for these problems, I would have rated it 5 stars.
