Original lasted 8 years so hoping this lasts longer. It is basic and simple but that is all I needed. In general I have been very pleased with Samsung appliances.

Not the best model, but certainly not the worst.

I rated it a 3 because there are a few cons about it even though it works and looks nice. 1, The dishware gets really hot to touch but the food not as equally hot (we don’t have any Correlle ware). This was never an issue with our old microwave. 2, We chose this particular model as the one in the store felt like the door was more durable than the other models on display. Now that we have it home, it doesn’t feel all that durable and predict it will loosening up sooner than later. 3, Sometimes we have to push the selected buttons a couple of times in order for it to register what we’re programming it to do.

Why is my microwave getting too hot?
It is normal to feel a warm outer case on the control panel side. The heat is normal and comes from the power transformer. Further, cooking foods in a microwave oven for an extended period of time can cause a heat transfer not only to the internal oven walls and floor but to the external cabinet as well.
What happens if the microwave overheats?
If the Microwave is overheating and shutting itself down, this is caused by high voltage parts inside the unit getting too hot leading the thermal cut-out switch to be activated as a safety feature to prevent further overheating.

Defrost... does not have a timed option, only by lbs Vegetable... have to memorize what 1 and 2 are... my old microwave had words... fresh, frozen or canned Haven't used it a lot yet, so am sure we'll get used to it.

Great Microwave

It’s a big upgrade from my previous 20 year old microwave. My only issue is that you have to push very hard on the bottoms of the keypad. Other than that, it’s very efficient and fast, yet heats food very evenly. Definitely recommend this.
