Junk - Dead in 52 days

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this unit 52 days ago, installed it with a trim kit in a cabinet - pretty simple and straight forward. This past Friday it has failed and will not run. Samsung would not provide an RMA to return this lemon. Instead referred me to local authorized repair center that will take who knows how long to fix and sent out communications with all kinds of stipulations and warnings on my part as they attempt to repair this junk. This is the same quality as my defective Samsung fridge where aftermarket silicone sealant had to be applied to prevent the ice tray from freezing solid due to an engineering defect. Bottom line: Do not buy Samsung appliances. They do not build quality products and provide poor at best service after the sale.

Best Buy service was awesome.

Also, the magnetron was broken so it made a loud noise and slow to heat anything. Good thing is that Best Buy warranty took care of the problem and refunded the purchase price.

Too many features

The keypad is not intuitive, like most microwaves I'm familiar with. It looks like I will need to study the user manual, which I find excessive. I prefer appliances which are easy to use from the start.

Do you smell toxic burning plastic? We do.

Within a few months, it made a horrible burning plastic smell. Turns out, the temperature shutoff sensor draws too much current, and melts the plastic on the contacts on either side. My husband came up with a workaround that's lasted us until today. Now it's making the same smell, because the contact on the other side is melting too. I'll definitely avoid Samsung microwaves from here on out. Aside from that, it was a decent microwave, and I really liked the silent feature.

Low quality and noisy Microwave

Heats slow for it's wattage and often inconsistent

Unfortunately, it heats slow for it's wattage, requiring longer cook times for all food that is heated in it. Not only is it slow, but it is inconsistently slow; needing different cook or ha eating times for the same item (ex: warming a cup of coffee). On four or five instances, the food item did not heat at all. I really should return it!

Stopped working exactly after the warranty of 1yr
