Today I had the third Geek service call for a refrigerator bought in January 2015. I see two other reviewers have described the same problem: evaporation coils inside refrigerator part froze over and unit stopped cooling. Very helpful tech defrosted on first service, replaced main board and defrost sensor on second call and ruled project sensor bad and can't be repaired on third visit. Fortunately its under warranty but three times food has been discarded as well as causing the inconvenience of no working refrigerator for weeks. I have submitted a food spoilage form. We'll see...I always read product reviews but haven't submitted them. I now feel more responsibility to help others make wise choices. I wish more people would review products after they have them a year instead of just after installation.

Good for Small Space

We have a small kitchen and limited space. This was the only french door style fridge that worked for our space. It is a nice fridge overall. The only real downfall is the shelving space. This does not fit a gallon of milk or a brita water dispenser it is just a couple inches to short. This is really annoying!!!! These kind of items can fit in the side doors, but I need the room for my condiments. Also, the top sliding shelf is probably meant to hold cheese and meats, but this is also very shallow so it does not hold much.

Do Not Buy Samsung

I would have given this product no stars but that is not an option on this site! DO NOT BUY THIS OR ANY OTHER SAMSUNG APPLIANCE...THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS! I purchased this refrigerator in Feb 2017. Worked fine at first until April when it just stopped cooling. Called Samsung had to wait a week for service. Of course, I lost all the food in the refrigerator and the freezer. The technician replaced the main PCB and the unit worked until for about 2 weeks and then stopped cooling again. Had to wait another week for service. Once again I lost all the food. The same technician came again in May and this time he called Samsung and spoke to the tech there who told him to place foam pads inside the PCB unit...this is a fix??? The unit worked again until June this time (Wow! That was a great repair) and the same thing happened. Called Samsung again and they sent the same repairmen, because he is familiar with the unit and the problem. Had to wait almost a week this time, lost the contents of the refrigerator and freezer...sound familiar? This time the technician called Samsung and the Samsung technician had him do some tests and determined the compressor is "probably" bad. The tech that was in my home was not certified to make that repair (?) so they said they would have to assign it to a different repair company. At the same time I called Samsung myself and spoke to Alcimer, in the Executive Customer Service Dept. She spoke with the repairman who was in my home and said that at that point she would refer the case to a special department and I did not have to worry because I would be getting a new replacement unit. She told me I would get a phone call in the next 24 - 48 hours to set up how it would be done. I asked her if I should set up an appointment with the other repair service just in case and she assured me that it was not necessary. That was yesterday. Today I got a call from the other repair company to set up an appointment. Of course I was very confused as to why this was occurring so I told her I would take her number and call her right back. Well, that was a joke. I spent the next 3 hours on the phone with Samsung . First, I spoke with a service rep, Iandre, who told me everything from that they had no records of me having any problems, to that the repair company that I used (which was given to me by Samsung) was not a certified company. Finally when I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told that none were available to take my call. I finally got back to The Executive Customer Service Dept only to be told they don't know who Alcimer is and that she was not authorized to replace this defective refrigerator. I told the whole story to another service rep, Demera, who said I needed to have the other repair service come and determine if the refrigerator was irreparable. I thought that was what had been going on the last 3 service calls. I asked again to speak to a supervisor and after a VERY long wait I spoke with Michael who was not any more helpful than all the other service reps. So after all this, I was forced to agree to another service call which I had to set up myself. I was told by all the reps that I spoke to that they would get someone out there as soon as possible which I was told would be tomorrow. So I got off the phone with Samsung and called Petro, which Samsung assured me they can make all repairs, only to be told the next appointment is July 12th!! 2 WEEKS AWAY! So I called back Samsung and guess what...they are closed for the day!! By the way, Samsung has never offered any compensation for all the food I lost. DON'T BUY SAMSUNG! They DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS!

DO NOT BUY THIS REFRIGERATOR

I bought mine in April 2017, so it's less than a year old. There is a very well documented issue with this refrigerator, in that the heating element is too short and the drainage line constantly freezes. The result? Your refrigerator fills with water that then intermittently freezes beneath the crisper drawers. Your freezer items alternate between melting and freezing. There's a hack to fix it on YouTube by replacing the heating element -- but WHO WANTS TO HACK A YEAR-OLD FRDIGE? Not me. I hugely regret buying this refrigerator. I have no idea why people are rating it well. I regret not doing more research off BestBuy.com before buying it, or I would have saved myself a damaged floor and countless amounts of wasted food.

The entire process of purchasing appliances from Best Buy was terrible. Mistake after mistake. This refrigerator is very noisy, makes an inadequate amount of ice and the freezer has frost all over it! I am initiating a return and will not be purchasing another model from Best Buy.

This was the fridge I chose for my new kitchen, so the cabinets were designed to fit around it. After a few months, water started pooling daily in the crisper drawers---not just puddles, but fruit and vegetables were floating! Dealing with Samsung's "authorized repair" providers is a nightmare; phone systems that don't work, nobody speaks English, they make appointments that require you to take time off from work and then don't show up. Save yourself.

Freezer does not pull out far enough, ice machine constantly gets clogged and breaks the cheap plastic parts, and the bottom drawers in fridge get ice and fill with water. Very disappointed

Inherited Problem

This fridge came with the house that we bought, very clear that previous owner got it as part of a set of Samsung appliances. We have had issues with this fridge since day one, it will not cool anything at all and since it isn't still under warranty it probably isn't worth gettint fixed. Having had Samsung appliances in the past we are totally aware that Samsung only has one or two approved repairmen in our state making it a racket.
Would not recommend. Essentially the fan and vents freeze up until no cold air circulates and then it heats to unsafe temperatures.

Water will eventually leak into draws in refrigerator from the drain line freezing up.
