This is a decent fridge of a reasonable size. We have purchased it few days ago, and immediately discovered one problem many people noted - strange noises coming out of the fridge every once in a while. As it turned out, however, this is actually not a problem as much as a misunderstanding. The reason for the noises is the ice-maker. Ice-maker is turned on by default, however it HAS TO BE CONNECTED TO THE WATER SOURCE. Best Buy does not connect it, and unless you do it yourself the fridge will be sending an alarm very couple of hours - loud buzzing sound. Empty ice-maker also hisses and rattles on its own. The solution, which is not easy to understand from the manual, is this: 1. Open the freezer and look at the display. The little cup icon with ice-cube in it will be lit. That means ice-maker is turned on. 2. Push "power freeze" button for 3 seconds. Ice-maker will be turned off and the icon will become unlit. 3. That, however, turns on the "power freeze" itself, so you have to push this button one more time, very briefely, to turn off the power freeze. A little yellow dot next to it should be unlit. Once you do it problem is solved, and the normal operation of the fridge is not noisy by any means. Other than that, the fridge is good. It is not great, because it is on the smaller side, and the top-freezer position is not as convenient as the bottom-freezer, but given the price it is excellent.

We recently bought a home this past spring and we were limited in what size of fridge we could get through the doorways and into the kitchen. It couldn’t be any larger than 18 cubic foot, which doesn’t leave much space in the actual fridge portion after you account for the freezer. It took us weeks before we found this one, which has worked really well. The first thing that caught my eye with this refrigerator was the color. I absolutely love the dark stainless steal. It went perfect with my other appliances/kitchen decor and it was sort of different from the typical colors/style. The thing I love about it the most is that I can convert the top into a fridge and vice versa. My husband and I already had a deep freezer we kept all of our frozen food in so we had no need for a freezer with our fridge. We converted the top portion and use that entire section for our drinks, milk, big jugs, etc. That saves so much space in the bottom half of the refrigerator for actual food products. It couldn’t have worked out more perfect. The only complaint I have is that it does show fingerprints. It says it’s “finger print resistant” but I don’t think it really is. Since it has no handle, we are constantly touching the actual surface to open the door. Thankfully we don’t have children yet, so the finger prints that we do get are mostly on the side of the doors where we grab it to open. And the finger prints do wipe up fairly easily. Overall the design, style and functionality work great for us. I would recommend this 9 out of 10 times.

I bought this fridge for my mom on Dec 2018 after reading the comments, the good ratings, and in general, the Samsung name. I was not able to see the fridge in person. I specifically asked on a Best Buy chat if the ice maker can removed. I also read someone's comment saying that it can be. When the delivery man unscrewed the ice maker, it left a hole with wires. So he said to call BB for the plate to cover the ice maker. I called BB and they directed me to call Samsung who told me there is no plate. I have to buy from an outside vendor. This is not the reason for the 0 rating (if I could have given it zero). The problem is the glass shelves. The shelves have a plastic rim. They CAN NOT be taken off. As a result, all the spillage and crud are trapped in there. I was cleaning the fridge for my mom and the spillage that seeped in can't be cleaned out. This is especially a problem with the glass shelve on top of the drawers. There was dried spillage that I had to use a knive to get under the plastic encasing so that water can run in to dissolve the crud. I can't understand how someone can design a product like this. BIG FAT ZERO for this fridge. SHAME on you SAMSUNG for a terrible design.

Like so many appliances that look great on the showroom floor, I did not discover my Samsung fridge limitations until it was put into use. Here's a list its shortcomings: a) fridge light does not illuminate items on back of shelves. b) depth of shelves make it very difficult to see and reach items on back of shelves. c) full width shelving does not allow any flexibility in division of space. d) fridge door must be fully open to readjust shelf spacing. In my case, with the right side against the wall, this mean having to move the entire unit out at an angle to adjust shelving. This means having to rebalance the fridge each time I readjust the shelves. e) spacing of shelves does not allow for placement of tall items. I have to store soda bottles, milk jugs, etc. in door shelves, which seems to put a lot of weight strain on the door. f) bottom right produce drawer does not open fully due to lack of space mentioned above. On the positive side, I like the sleek design, especially the pullout drawer at the top to store cheeses, eggs, meats, etc. The freezer configuration is spacious. I like accessibility of controls on front of unit inside door, but how often do you use those? I am considering building my own half shelf to allow for more visibility and tall item storage. Another option is to use a glass cutter and cut one of the existing shelves in half.

I love more about my Samsung Fridge, Stainless 17.6 CF,than not. (Perhaps 3 1/2 stars would be more accurate) The reason for 4 stars is that It appears bigger than expected and looks really sharp. The slider shelf is awesome, plenty of room on the door shelves too. The freezer is a bit small but adequate. It comes with the ice maker however unable to hook up since no plumbing for it, therefore, will keep for later. My thanks to excellent customer service from Sales, delivery and management for Geek Squad's prompt & courteous attention to my issues. Unfortunately, the door hinge was not switched prior to delivery, however all was promptly repaired and my special thanks to Andrew for his kind assistance. Unfortunately, now I've noticed loud, random popping and gurgling noises. The normal fridge noises are minimal and quiet. I'm so glad I purchased the repair contact and will contact them shortly to remedy this un-normal noise issues. I've noticed others have posted on rare noises as well. Hopefully their issues have been resolved by now. Best Buy has been amazing so far and I can only hope this problem will either be repaired or the fridge replaced. I DO recommend this product since there's more pro's than con's and I feel confident Best Buy will honor their word on "FIX IT OR REPLACE IT" Will let you know. .

2017 Open box item came with some cracks on plastic shelving, minor small dents on front, and it sure is easy to make marks on the exterior. Why did I go for it? Me and my brother had been looking around on the floor for a fridge with a $500 budget. This fridge is white and not the stainless steel version. It does look pretty and had some new technology I had never explored for fridge now a days. Didn't need a touch screen fridge for sure. I can say that the simple block design, the layout, and twin cooling plus technology won me and my brother on this $390 deal :) Goal: Plan on keeping this for 10 + years. Good: * Swap-able left and right door hinges * Auto ice maker * Touch press control panel for fridge * FlexZone, versatile fridge compartment that converts freezer to fridge. * Humidity control for fruits and vegetables * Fridge LED light is bright * Door shelves is wide and not skinny * refrigerator top door shelf is swap-able * refrigerator top sliding fridge pantry * stands 5'6 and roomy enough for two people and can fit more than a few Costco size pizza box for leftovers * Stays cold enough but not icy frosty cold. * Fridge has been running for 1 month and no problems since purchased off Best Buy appliance floor onto a friend's truck, hand-truck self delivered, and installed after unwrapping the packaging. Bad: * Easily scratches on the front and side panels. * Door shelf is plastic and can break or crack if removed carelessly from previous owner * Does make some questionable noises I have no idea for besides the twin cooling plus technology. I can live with it as it still works. Other than that it hums during operation depending on setting.

This refrigerator fit perfectly in the same space my old fridge was in. The doors are clean and smooth, There are no handles sticking out, therefore it makes it easier to clean and it cuts down on the space albeit only by a few inches. The top freezer can be switched to a refrigerator if you don't need a freezer. So far I've had this fridge for a month and it has done a great job. I keep very little stuff in the fridge and nothing gets frozen as a result of not having enough stuff to keep refrigerated. The temperature can be adjusted. The temperature control has 6 difference settings. You can stick a whole pizza box in the this fridge unlike those side by side freezer fridge refrigerators or a ice cream cake, making it practical for real life situations. You can stick magnets on it. The inside of the fridge is spacious and it has a small drawer on the top and two large ones on the bottom. The door has deep shelves that can hold a substantial amount of things making this fridge very efficient with the way the space was designed to give as much room for stuff as possible..

I have had this refrigerator for over two months. I wanted to give it a fair shake before writing about it. The positives would be that it's a gorgeous refrigerator. Black stainless steel is unique. It's good for a single person such as myself. Just the right size. It also works well. I have had no technical problems since it was installed. The negatives are a different bag of tricks. What is with the noises. It makes the strangest and loudest noises. Popping, cracking, water bubbling and I am not talking about the Ice dispenser feeling up with water to turn to ice. I thought something was wrong with the unit the first several days and just came to the realization that it periodically makes these noises. I also had problems with figuring out how to turn on the Ice Maker. Had to contact Customer service at Samsung for help. It would not come up. The CS rep was wonderful, stayed on the phone with me for 45 minutes to work through the issue. The refrigerator was so new that he did not have a manual on how to work this particular model. I don't care what they say. It does show smudges but not as prominently as with straight stainless steel. I just keep a microfiber cloth nearby to wipe it down from time to time.

    Good Refrigerator, Bad Ad

While I am pleased overall with this refrigerator (white), I have two concerns. The one that might annoy most owners is that it does make strange intermittent noises. As my bedroom is across the house from the kitchen this is not a big problem, although it can be startling if you are near by. (The manual states to expect noises.) The unexpected thing that I did not like was a black/color changing info/ad (about 2/12 x 3") below the product name at the top right front of the refrigerator. It is not shown on the online photo. I asked that it be removed, but it could not. It now sports a giant hummingbird static sticker to cover it. (Although I love hummingbirds, in finding one large enough to cover the unwanted info/ad, this one is super large and somewhat scary--like a hummingbird hawk.) So, if this is not a problem for you, you will probably like the many useful features on this model--lights in both refrigerator and freezer, a handy cheese and cold cuts pull-out drawer, it's larger than anticipated for its depth--and more than expected for a refrigerator of this price.

I overanalyze and have a hard time making a decision.. so it took me awhile til we decided on this model. Didn't want huge and all the extras but still something nice.. so got the black stainless steel. With small children and lots of pictures I'd like to put them on the front but don't because my magnets are the super duper clip type and will scratch. So the sides work much better since they are the durable black painted? ..kinda textured looking kind.. wish I could have that all over. Like the old white fridges used to be. Anyway that's all pretty minor.. and more importantly-the fridge is working good! Easy to operate. Adjustable shelves making it very practical. Im hoping it will last a good long time. Haven't installed ice maker line yet so don't know on that.. but purchased geek squad incase something goes bad. Too bad nowadays things aren't made to last... oh I also like the sleek look with no handle. I was afraid my children would not master opening it without smudging all over but its not too bad. (Smudges do appear often with little blessings tho!)

This is a great fridge however we would advise anyone who purchase this fridge to let them know how they want the doors swing open. We were not asked that and when it was delivered they told us that we can do it ourselves, we did but it took a bit of doing, because there are sensors, we had to switch the wiring as well. They recommended that you lay the fridge down because the footing had to be switched - but we were always told never to lay the fridge horizontally. We like that it has no handles and comes with ice maker. It is very quiet. The crispers at the bottom can be pulled out all the way because there is no side shelves that low. That is a great feature but you loose shelving on the side of the door. Still getting used to the slide and reach pantry - this takes away the ability to place large items on the top shelf - so the shelves have to be adjusted and large items place on the bottom shelf instead.

We had limited options when purchasing a Samsung black stainless steel fridge in the smaller size we needed for our kitchen. The one we really wanted had french doors but was out of stock everywhere and were even told was discontinued. So we went with this more basic model because it was in stock. When we went to the store, not only was it in stock but was an open box display which saved us a lot more money out the door. It was in perfect shape and when we got it home were very pleased with the overall design/quality. The fridge is much bigger than we thought when it comes to storage. It is almost the same dimensions as my old fridge but holds a lot more food. We love it. The clear drawers allow us to see the veggies so they are not "out of sight out of mind" and won't go bad as easily. It also has an automatic ice maker but we did not hook a line up to it. It has nice features to control the temperature and you can even change both compartments to a fridge if you want. Overall it is a great refrigerator and we absolutely love it.

I bought this fridge because the space in my kitchen is smaller than most apartments that I've lived in. It's like the builder put in the area as an afterthought. I also have to avoid hitting the door handles into the wall so this model is perfect since there are no visible handles. It's easy to open and has lots of room inside. My only complaint so far is the blueish LED light in the lower part of the fridge is dimmer than the freezer. They should have used a brighter white light so you can see your food better. I will have to see if it can be changed later. The model is very quiet too. It has an alarm (quick beeping sound) if you leave your doors open too long. Not an obnoxious sound though. The third party delivery guys were on time and were in and out quickly with no damage to anything. I should have had them adjust the main shelves before they squeezed it into my tiny kitchen but I will make it work. At least the side doors can hold gallon jugs or I would have to pull the whole thing out again. Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase and Best Buy's delivery.

This is a beautiful fridge. Love the icemaker, never had a built in one before. I love the light in the freezer section. It has lots more space than it let's on in the store. It has lots of space on the door. More than our old fridge. Something that might bug a person is that the extra space on the door comes at the cost of it sticking out farther from the wall. For me it's a good trade off but it might bug some people. The black stainless steel doesn't show fingerprints as much as regular stainless steel. The freezer section can convert to more fridge space but I don't see me using that feature. The pushbutton controls located inside the freezer door have a bit of a learning curve. Not a simple turn it up to numbers like an old style fridge.

I only have room for a 30 inch fridge and after installing black stainless range microwave and dishwasher it was time to do the fridge too. Because this is really my only option I had to wait a while until i found a killer deal on a return/display model. I ended up finding a return in perfect condition and got it for 550 out the door. Overall Im happy with it but it could be just a little taller. Cools well is silent and makes decent ice. I like the option of making it all refrigerator which i may do and put a small chest freezer in a corner. Now to find a scratch n dent granite counter top for 90% off.

The fridge is nice but it is thicker than one thinks. The door would not open even though I had the space available according to the measurements on the website.y husband had to literally take the doors apart to switch which way they open and it was a hellacious 2 hr job. He is a very good handyman and electrician so not a job just anyone could do. It is very inconvenient for us to access the food now. So be aware of your measurements and allow for at least 2 inches more on the side the door opens to. The door is thick and square edged. Also, the background of the door handle looks like a nice silver on the picture but it is not. It is all white so be aware of that. It cooled right away and the shelving and glass are super nice. The bottom door slams kind of hard and shakes the whole thing a bit. It's not awful, but noticeable. The front has a smooth finish and the freezer has lots of room. Overall a very nice fridge if you know how much space you need.

Mainly bought this due to Consumer Reports high rating. Like the various fridge and freezer settings, and it's sometimes so quiet I have to check to make sure it's on. Shelves were easy to set up and installation painless. I guess the top level pantry drawer was supposed to be for easy access, but all that does is leave you only the door shelves as spaces to fit 2 liter containers or gallons of milk. I removed the drawer, but am now left with a swinging door that will hit any large container I put in or take out. Also don't know why both doors don't automatically close. It does have an alarm to notify you, but t takes some getting use to, to always close it so hard it goes past the point of sticking.

We really enjoy this slickly designed and well-built fridge. It's a budget choice that feels very modern and chic. The fact that you can use either compartment as a fridge or freezer is extraordinary; even if we won't use that fueature. The instructions for flipping the door hinges so the handles open on the opposite sides are clear, albeit lengthy. It's an easy switch for us to do, with excellent, accurate illustrations. The interior is roomy, with large Brita pitcher fitting in fridge door. Pantry slide-out tray is a very neat feature, too. Temp controls are clear, albeit very simple digital bars that light up. It feels efficient and cools evenly, from what we can tell. Super proud to own this. It's just very functional and slick. Love Samsung. Door beeps when ajar for too long, so that's nice.

When i first seen this dual flex in the store i was like they actually make something like that, huh, i never knew, after an explanation from the best buy tech, i couldn't get it home quick enough. I needed a fridge for my garage and it had to be able to withstand the warm environment in there, when she explained that the samsung had a 10 year warranty on the compressor (which is the heart of the cooling), i said i needed it now! The tech also explained that i could make the top a refrigerator along with the bottom or i could make the whole thing a freezer or that i could make the bottom a freezer and the top a fridge because of the dual flex technology, anyway that you wish to have it. In closing, this fridge/freezer is awesome, with a push and hold of the freezer button you can literally have the best of both worlds and having a gorgeous looking fridge/freezer along with a 10 year compressor warranty makes everything that much sweeter!

I like this Samsung refrigerator which I choose after a lot of research, but I did not give it 5 stars for the following three reasons to be aware of: 1 - It is a little pricey if compared with other brands and bigger units. 2 - The bottom portion is smaller than a regular refrigerator of that size so you have to get rid of one of the dividers and have only two levels to put your stuff on. However the freezer is much bigger so it's good if you have a lot of frozen food. 3 - The door does not open all the way so if you have to take out one of the dividers it's really difficult and you have to juggle. However, it is very quiet if compared with others I had in the past which I particularly love and keeps food at the right temperature (double temperature means you can make the bottom less cold than the top which is great). I would recommend it for a single person and not a family cause it is small.
