Customers are saying

Customers regard the sound quality of the 2.0-Channel Wireless Rear Speaker Kit with Surround Sound as amazing and a great improvement over the original speakers. The easy setup process is also widely appreciated. However, some customers have concerns about the low volume, lack of true wireless connectivity, compatibility issues, occasional syncing problems, and small speaker size.

I hesitated a great deal when in come to purchasing these rear speakers, I bought a Samsung sound bar around 5 months ago and liked it a lot but end up exchanging it for the Samsung 600 cause I wanted more power and to hook it up through hdmi arc. After that I thought of buying rear speakers several times but the reviews kept scaring me from getting them, I finally figured what the hell and I would return them if there was a problem, sure enough just like several of the reviews said I could get little to no sound, before returning them I messed around with the speaker wires, I pulled the wire out maybe an eighth of an inch and it instantly worked perfect, the other side was the same way. They are plenty loud enough, sound clear, it did however take a couple try’s to get the right mount that works to my liking. The difference is amazing, games movies, and music sounds incredible. I did however have a couple of very expensive Sony rear speakers that have 3 separate speakers in each one, the way 3 times what the Samsung speakers weigh and a pair of them is 499.99 new so out of curiosity I tried putting them in place of the Samsung speakers and to my surprise they work perfect. I never turn the volume past 25 cause I found any more then that my walls rattle. To clarify the Samsung speakers worked perfect it’s just that I had them speakers laying around that a rich friend was gonna throw them away so I figured why not.

When you have these set up the right way with the right attachments they work wonders. I thought that they might be a little cheap but look at my picture and I have them set up your level facing each other while sitting on the couch, in sync with my Samsung soundbar and it is like a home theater truly.

Junk - not wireless as advertised- won’t even sync with my 9100 series Samsung soundbar and Samsung tv - I should have purchased a universal soundbar from someone else - I just wasted around $300 for soundbar plus rear speakers system which is all total junk!

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung SWA-9100S Rear Speaker Kit. We appreciate you sharing your feedback on having some trouble setting up your new rear speakers.

Use the color-coded speaker wires to connect the SWA-9100S rear speakers to its wireless module and place these three in the back of your room. Plug the wireless receiver module power cord into an electrical outlet and into the wireless receiver module to turn on the wireless receiver module.
Turn off your soundbar and press the Up button on the remote for 5 seconds. The ID SET message will appear on the soundbar for a short time and then disappear. After the ID SET process, the soundbar power is automatically turned on. The LINK LED indicator stops blinking and glows a solid blue when a connection is established between the soundbar and the wireless receiver module.

If the LED light is solid blue, the rear speakers are connected to your soundbar.
If the LED light is blinking blue, the module is in standby status:
      • Check to see if your soundbar is turned on
      • Turn off the soundbar by pressing the power button on the main soundbar unit. Configure "ID SET" using the soundbar's remote control, then turn the soundbar back on.
If the LED light is red, the connection attempt failed.
      • Check to see if your soundbar is turned on
      • Press the ID SET button on the back of the wireless receiver module with a pen tip for 5-6

Surround speakers have very good sound and range. Only thing I would change is to consider recombining them with the main unit as a complete bundle. While the marketing strategy is understably profit driven, the realistic volume of consumers do not purchase the extra surround set. While the soundbar has great sound when paired with its sub, I am disappointed when I visit more than a few people who just have the front half of a theater system. Please explore an affordable option to help all the half theaters become whole again like the old days.

If you're like me, you're interested in these because you have a compatible Samsung soundbar, you want surround sound, and these are decently affordable. If that is you, and you aren't super snobby about sound quality, these are an amazing value! Effective surround sound with minimal setup and wires! However, I've taken a star off because setting these up was a bigger hassle than it should have been. If you follow the very minimalistic instructions to a T, you will probably run into issues. Some things Samsung doesn't tell you that you won't figure out if you aren't familiar with setting up surround sound speakers: - The wires are standard speaker wires, so you install them by opening "clamps" on the back of the speakers, inserting the wire, and then releasing the clamp so it clamps down on the wire. Be sure that the clamp is clamping down on the exposed metal wire, NOT the plastic jacket around the metal wire. It is also better to insert the wire in as far as it will go without clamping down on the plactic jacket, to avoid signal interference. Basically, it is possible to insert the wire in both TOO FAR and NOT FAR ENOUGH. If you do either, you will have the "no sound" or "intermittent cutting out" issues that other reviews describe. - If you are using HDMI-ARC to connect your soundbar to your TV, MAKE SURE you enable "passthrough" audio in your TV settings. I CANNOT overstate how important this is. I use a TCL Roku TV and I had mine setup on "auto" previously, and this worked fine with just my soundbar. However, with these rear speakers, initially I could hear a fairly loud "static" sound when the speakers were on and no sound was playing on the TV. And when I DID play sound, it was kind of quiet and tinny. Once I changed my audio format to passthrough in my TV settings both of these issues went away. On my TCL Roku TV, the setting was on Home screen > Settings > Audio > Digital output format. I do not know where this setting is on other tvs, or if this solution still applies when you connect your soundbar via some method other than HDMI ARC. - Once your speakers are linked with your soundbar, you will be able to raise their volume with your soundbar remote by clicking the Gear icon until you reach "rear level". Unless you set up your speakers right behind your couch (which you shouldn't do if you can avoid it), you will probably want to raise this to near the max level. This setting is easier to change if you connect to your soundbar from the Samsung SmartThings app, because then there are sliders you can visually see. Once you're on the screen for your soundbar, tap the three dots in the corner > device settings > Channel Volume. - Surround sound only works if you set your soundbar to specific sound modes. On my HW-S60A soundbar, it only works if I set it to "Adaptive Sound". I think some other models have a "Surround Sound" mode, which would probably also enable surround. Given that these are marketed towards casual consumers that don't know the ins and outs of home theater setups, Samsung should really call these things out in the manual. All of those caveats aside, these are great little speakers for the price! It took me less than a day of messing with settings to figure all of this out, and now that I have, shows sound so much better! These speakers create an effective "bubble" of sound that helps immerse us in movies and cinematic shows! Great, low-cost way to get some apartment-friendly surround sound in our living room!

Definitely a nice addition the main subwoofer/sound bar set up. Would recommend as there have been times watching movies and shows where the sound out of these has made me turn to see what that noise was because I would forget they are there. I mounted on floor stands off Amazon and they work great. Even dropped one to floor mounting to stand and it still works like should.

Had a little difficulty connecting it, but after googling the product, and turning off the speaker that was connected and then turning it on, and it worked fine. Product does have some wires. Wake up next to the speaker on the TV wirelessly. Seems to work. I got it on sale so I think I got a good deal. I’m sure there are more expensive systems out there but for my home needs, it works fine.

Easy to hook up. The added dimension to the soundbar is pretty good. I got this as an open box in excellent condition for 50.00. 75.00 probably would have been my limit on these. The way it needs to be wired, the wires need to be longer on one channel in case you don't have space right in the middle to plug it up.
